Just Hanging Out

--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--

‹Roderic› I was disappointed that Phoenix had no idea what it was I was going to do with Juliet, but that wouldn't deter me from doing it. She had said it sounded like fun, which seemed like a blanket statement of sorts, since she didn't know what it was. Behind me, propped up on the wall was a shovel and on the floor next to it a bag filled with various things and a GPS. "Hey Juliet." I nod to her after throwing my cigarette to the ground when I see her coming my way.

‹Juliet› After work, Juliet had changed into a pair of old faded and worn black jeans, a longsleeved tan teeshirt and matching denim jacket; as usual, her hair fell down her back in loose waves. Black boots clicked against the gas station floor as she lifted her hand in greeting to Roderic with a smile playing across her lips. "Hi 'Ric," She chimed, eying the bag a moment curiously a moment later before raising her blue eyes back to the male.

‹Roderic› I've never hung out with anyone before. I mean, I've hung out with the MC, but that was really them hanging out and me sort of watching and doing my own thing with the work I brought with me. I've not really hung out with a woman before either. Well, except that one time with Saige, but that was an accident run in and hadn't been planned. The last woman I hung out was boring and only wanted sex, even if we only had it one time. One time too many for my liking. So this was odd. If not because Phoenix had made us hang out, but because she was a woman and the first person I was attempting to be social with. Legitimately. I look at the items because I notice she looked at them and shrugged. "It's for what we're going to do tonight. When we hang out." It looks like we're about to bury someone now that I think about it. I wonder if she thinks that too. "If you think it's stupid, we can do something else." I offer before I realize I hadn't said what it is we're doing. "We're going to go look for something. It's buried by some music store. They put it out yesterday and it's not been found. I guess you use this stuff to find it." I shrug again. "Called Geo-something."

‹Juliet› He was strange, Juliet would admit that easily and the fact she knew he played with dead things didn't quite settle her nerves as she looked at the bag before she then looked back to Roderic once more as he spoke. "That... is interesting. I'm sure it'll be nice to try something new anyway." She smiled and then shrugged, "I don't think there's much that one can call stupid, really. We all have those moments and if you aren't willing to open your mind, it is a waste of life."

‹Roderic› I nod and almost smile. But I catch myself. Truth is, I like Juliet. She gave me a job, helped me find Phoenix in that place called the Shadow Realm and used her brains all the time. Something a lot of people took advantage of. As I feel my lips turn up, I bend down and pick up the bag that will be used for getting our "loot," as they call it. I've never done this before, but I know I can dig a hole well. So if we work together, we can find the prize put in the ground by this place and this hanging out experience wouldn't be that bad. "Cool." I say as I toss her the bag that had not much in it. Just some medical supplies if something happened and a compass should we need it. I give her appearance a once over, glad she took my suggestion to heart and dressed accordingly. "So we have to follow this thing." I swipe up the GPS and show it to her. I've never used one before and it shows when I try and figure out how to turn it on.

‹Juliet› She lifted her hand in time to catch the bag, feeling the pull of the damaged skin on her abdomen stretch in protest enough to make her crinkle her nose before she set the bag over her shoulder. To her, it had been more important to heal the gaping headwound that had been in place for a day. "Geolocation." Now she understood, and as he showed it to her, Juliet felt her lips twitch in amusement as she waited for the screen to light up. After a few moments, she stepped forward and pointed to a button for him to press. "Try holding that one down." In the beginning, she had thought when Phoenix turned the blood thief it had been a joke. She had offered him a job to keep an eye on him, but after the last few weeks, she had been glad to talk to him occasionally in passing or on the family board.

‹Roderic› "Oh." I look down at the GPS thing and does as she says. It turns on and I do smile. Rocky start, but once we got to the digging part and finding the treasure, it'd get better. I hope. I hate wasting my time, but to waste my boss's time wouldn't do either. "Ready?" I ask her as I grab the shovel from off the corner of the wall and wait to see what the GPS says, as I programmed the first location in last night and made sure the voice was on. I didn't like the voice, but it served a purpose. Once that purpose was met, I'd probably end up tossing the thing in a garbage.

‹Juliet› She gave a nod of her head while she adjusted the bag over her shoulder once more, "Ready." She chimed again once more in her light voice. She had done most of the work needed yesterday, asking for one of the other employees to take over and only contact her if something was bad. "Let's go."
‹Roderic› "In one hundred feet, turn left." A woman's voice trilled out as soon as we step outside the gas station. I shoot a look over to Juliet, apologizing for the obnoxiousness of the woman's voice. "How was work?" I don't like small talk, but I'm not sure what else we should do while we listen to the woman shout out commands at us.

‹Juliet› She didn't seem to mind the noise, giving a small nod to acknowledge the man's look before she lifted her lips in a soft smile, "It was work, calming as usual. Unfortunately one of the patients passed away so you have a new customer downstairs in the morgue." She scratched at her cheek lightly in thought, moving in the direction that the GPS had instructed.

‹Roderic› "Yeah, that's unfortunate." Not really. Dying was an aspect of living, unless you were a vampire. The only unfortunate part was that I didn't have a hand in the patient's death. I follow after Juliet, fine with her taking the lead, more or less. If that's what it meant by her being ahead of me by a step or two. "I met your wraith the other night. Last night. She your cousin?" I'm interested in knowing Juliet's take on things, since the wraith didn't know who she really was.

‹Juliet› The brunette shrugged her shoulders faintly as she pulled her jacket closer around her form in the winter air. Even if her body didn't feel it, Juliet supposed it was all a memory. The shiver that ran down her spine caused her to cringe gently. "April, I'm not quite sure. I suppose I'd have to see her to be sure. She acts like her, surely."

‹Roderic› "Turn left." The voice in the GPS barked at them, reminding them to turn before they needed to proceed to the next set of directions. "Hmm." Is all I say, noticing how she shivers. I've not felt the cold since I became this. Became a vampire. Maybe vampires are different though, so I turn left and then do something I wouldn't do for anyone. I don't think I would. Probably not even Phoenix. "You can have my coat if you're cold. I just wear it out of habit." I offer, only because it's Juliet. I know I'm not the life of the party when hanging out with me, but she's giving it an honest attempt, even at Nix' request. "Not sure how much more it'll do, but it's something." I look down to the thin, flannel coat that's meant more for autumn then winter and then over at her.

‹Juliet› She eyed the GPS and made a mental note to introduce Roderic to the world of cellphones and how the tone the one her phone had was much nicer at a later date. "I'm not really cold, I think it's from habit. I'm usually back down south at this time of year." Visiting her mother, usually. Her father and older brother lived in Harper Rock, they didn't live too far away from her if she remembered right. She hadn't seen her father in a while. "Thank you, though."

‹Roderic› "Down south? Like Texas?" I didn't say Mexico because that sounded racist, knowing she was Mexican and I knew there were Mexican's in other parts of the world. Like Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, places like that. "Proceed for half a mile." The GPS informed us just at about the time I paused in my attaining details of Juliet. I liked getting information about people, usually they were my victims though. I doubt Juliet would ever be on that side of the table with me. "April told me some things last night." I add in. I don't even know why I told her that, she didn't need to know that. "I can stop asking questions if you want." I pull out a pack of cigarettes and a cheap lighter.

‹Juliet› 'My mother lives in Mexico, but I have family in Texas and Arizona." She smiled, not seeming to mind the words before she tucked her hands into the pockets of her jacket. It seemed to help that she wasn't easily offended, "She's trying to get me to go home and work there for a while, my aunt is taking a turn for the worse." She thought about it for a moment, "Though she's been sick for a long time and she'll be at peace. The questions don't bother me. I do miss my horses though."

‹Roderic› "A while?" I hope my tone hasn't changed at all and given anything away. I don't really want Juliet to go away for a while. She's the only person that's given me the time of night in this cluster **** of a life I found myself in. I keep going straight as the GPS instructed us to do, not bothered by the walk, though we were headed in to the woods. I wasn't sure how far we'd have to go, but hopefully, not too far. I'm not sure how Juliet's endurance is, but I'm not bothered by the woods. I wonder if we're close to any people I've buried out here. "Could always have the horses brought up here. If you have the room." I say that because if Juliet had her horses then she would come back sooner, when she had to leave.

‹Juliet› "I'd still be reachable by email, and phone, but I haven't decided yet. Too much of this place just holds memories." Athena. April. Adric. If his voice had changed, Juliet showed no acknowledgement if she caught it or not. Her blue eyes lowered to the ground and lightly she rubbed the back of her neck. Would her powers let her reach that far? Juliet wasn't quite sure. "Mm, I've thought about that but I've yet to purchase anything bigger than a few shops and apartments." She was saving for a boat, admittedly, or a house, but had yet to get to it. Her custom rifle had taken priority.

‹Roderic› "Do you like being a vampire?" I ask her bluntly before lighting my cigarette. "I mean, won't every place have memories as we get older? Or live forever?" Where the hell did that thought come from? I understood the need to pack up and leave town sometimes, so couldn't fault her if she needed to. Only I did it to escape the law. She did it to escape other things I wasn't quite sure about. I doubt it was for the same reason as me. "In fifty feet, turn right." I look down at the GPS, glad it talked for once, as I wasn't sure what I meant. "How long do you think you would be gone for? If you did have to go?" As I walk I let the tip of the shovel hit the earth, as if using it like a walking stick of sorts.

‹Juliet› "It has its moments. I do and I don't." Her fangs, as always, were hidden. "It sort of makes owning three businesses difficult especially when you originally wanted to pursue another type of career that calls for you having to remain in daylight." She chuckled, shaking her head as she considered it slowly. She did, but not always. "I'm honestly not sure." She sighed and crossed her arms faintly in front of her chest, "until the idea of going into my apartment doesn't hurt any more." She had been sleeping in her office most of the time.

‹Roderic› Moments. I liked that. Sometimes I didn't mind being a vampire. Like right now. But some times I missed being a blood thief. Life was more exciting. Dangerous even. I obviously didn't mind danger. "In ten feet, turn right." I shake the GPS, pissed at the voice again. "What did you want to do?" I ask, then turn right as the voice commands us to turn right. I'm not sure what to say about her apartment hurting her. I doubt that's possible that a place hurts someone. So she must mean emotionally, and I could figure out that she was talking about Athena from what April told me last night. "Could get another one." I offer, trying to be useful. "Or spend time at the Altaire place Saige showed me a while back."

‹Juliet› "That's the one I'm talking about, and I'm saving up for a bigger place eventually." She explained, or another shop, she added mentally. Juliet liked to keep busy because it kept her away from her thoughts that often upset her. "I wanted to be a teacher." She explained and then reached over to turn the GPS thing down a bit as she figured it was just the volume bothering him. "Every place I go just makes me think of her I guess."

‹Roderic› I take a long drag in when I hear her say she wanted to be a teacher. I have nothing against the profession, just one individual in particular. I don't comment on that, because I doubt it would be nice and I was supposed to be hanging out with Juliet, which probably meant watching what I say. I'm not really sure how every place reminds Juliet of Athena. Athena was someone I'd gladly shove a knife in to her. I'd not tell this to anyone, most of all Juliet because how much I like Juliet. I turn right when the GPS tells us to do that and we've reached as far as the GPS will take us. "Got that compass?" I ask her, knowing she did. "We've got to go about half a mile south west for the loot."

‹Juliet› "Something tells me you were the one to bury it." She smirked in his direction, not commenting on his reaction as she moved the bag and began to search for it for the compass. Closing her fingers around it, Juliet straightened out and offered the device over to her fang-sibling. "Try to not get us lost, although I can teleport myself and summon you if we do."

‹Roderic› I wasn't sure how summoning worked, but I knew how teleporting worked. I did it once to Phoenix back in my blood thief days. When she was trying to take over my cave. "Lost?" I look at her. There was nothing in my look. No amusement, no skepticism, not even a hint of me being insulted. "I know my way in these woods." I brush the idea of us being lost off and don't tell her if I was the one who buried this treasure or not. Would she have came if it had been buried by me? I doubt it. "South west is that way." I point north and take a step towards it, knowing that I was going the wrong way. I was just seeing if Juliet noticed.

‹Juliet› She knew how to read a compass; it had been learned back home when her parents were still together. Someone had let one of the horses get loose and they had to look for it. "If you know these woods why are you going in the wrong direction?" She lifted an eyebrow, holding up the device where could see. "We need to go this way." Juliet nodded her head in the general direction.

‹Roderic› "Am I?" I ask before turning around and walking past her, going in the right direction finally. "Just thought I saw something that way." Juliet had surprised me. I wasn't surprised often. As I walked, I spun the shovel in my hands, making sure she wasn't too close. She might not want to hang out with me again. Not that I was sure I wanted to hang out with her. It wasn't her specifically, it was just the idea of hanging out. It took me nights to think of something to do, then to put it all together. It was more work than killing someone. "Think you'll open another business? You have a lot of them already." More small talk, but I wasn't trying to get anywhere near the talk of Athena.

‹Juliet› "Uh huh." She eyed him with a lifted eyebrow, following once more as she adjusted her shoes for a moment and stretched out her heel for a second. "I might, probably a clinic to go with the Asylum." She had considered the idea, not quite sure if it would work. The other option was something to tie into Refractions. "Like I said, keeps me busy and happy."

‹Roderic› "I get that. I like being busy and sometimes my work keeps me happy. My work outside of work." I clarify, in case she thinks I don't like my job, because I do. "Clinic sounds like a good idea." I say, mostly for selfish reasons. I can imagine all the things I could do with a clinic and the product in the clinic. "Hmm." I say as a mound of dirt can be seen. It's obviously been recently put there, by me, not that I'd admit it. "Well, we should be close now." I'd let her "find" the mound, after all, I did all this for her. Well, because of Phoenix.

‹Juliet› "I was just always difficult when it came to conversing with others. I didn't talk to Nix for months after my turning, it wasn't until she sired any of the others that I even really began speaking to anyone." She explained while she studied the dirt mound as they came across it. She checked the compass and leaned over to then check the GPS in case it had been put there. "Is this it?"

‹Roderic› I look around, like I'm really looking for the dirt pile, even though I know where it is. She asks a question and I look her way. "Might be. Guess we'll see." I shrug, head over to the pile and start digging. I hope she doesn't notice how easy it is for me to dig, but then again, I doubt Juliet doesn't suspect something. Not that I'm worried she'll turn me in to the cops or something. I work for her after all. "Talking can be over rated. Unless there's something worth talking about. Hate small talk." I dig the shovel deep in the earth and strike something solid. "I think we got something." I smile, this one isn't a forced one. I wonder what she'll think of the things in the box.

‹Juliet› She nodded her head and leaned against a nearby tree as she relaxed and waited, watching Roderic curiously without saying anything for the time being. Tucking the compass back into the bag, Juliet set it down before she looked to where the shovel had hit. Everything else was frozen, and Juliet gave a small smile. She appreciated he'd gone out of his way for her. "Excellent."

‹Roderic› I bend down and haul the box out. It's not very big, maybe a little bigger than a shoe box at best. I put it on the ground, not far from the hole and take a step back and extend a hand towards the box. "Check out the loot you scored." I slam the shovel in to the ground and take another step back. Once she checks out the box, she'd find a Polaroid camera and rabbit's foot. I made the rabbit foot myself. First thing of taxidermy I tried my hand at.

‹Juliet› "We scored." She corrected, but chuckled quietly as she moved to check out the box. Juliet knelt down, her hair falling down over her back as she studied it for a moment and then opened it to find the camera and foot. Owning Refractions, she had loved learning about cameras and using them. The polariod made her smile widen before she took hold of the rabbits foot to study it as well. "These are wonderful."

‹Roderic› I ignore the idea of us scoring, because everything in there was for her. Like a thank you, I guess. I watch her as she starts to look in the box and for the first time I guess I notice her physique. She was fit for a woman. But not overly fit. Toned. It fitted her nicely. Then I remembered that she went for runs and that would explain her physical appearance. "Yeah?" I step forward to look at what's in the box, as if I'd never seen it before. "I don't really know much about camera's so I'll take your word on it." I look away because I find this situation becoming uncomfortable for a couple reasons.

‹Juliet› Juliet straightened up and studied the camera a bit more before she moved and pressed a quick kiss to the man's cheek in thanks before taking a few steps back, turning the rabbit's foot in hand as she studied it.

‹Roderic› I take a step back and rub at my cheek. Why did she do that? Was this what people did when they hung out? Phoenix didn't tell me about this. I want to text her and ask her what the hell. And say a few other things. "Well, I'll put the dirt back." I say after looking at the pile of dirt I'd dug up. "Do you like the foot? The rabbit foot?" I ask as I start to put the dirt back in the hole I had made again.

‹Juliet› "Alright," She stated and eyed the foot, giving a nod of her head, "I do, it's very well crafted 'Ric. I'm sure it'll bring me good luck." She smiled genuinely, understanding that the man was probably tempted to flee as quickly as possible.

‹Roderic› I nod as I put more dirt in. Maybe it will bring her good luck. I was tired of hearing how sad she was and would give her ten rabbit foots if it brought her one night of luck with someone else, since she seemed to be the sort to like being in relationships. "Yeah, it's not bad for a first attempt." I nudge my head at the rabbit foot she's holding. Once I put enough dirt in the hole, I put the shovel back in the ground and stare at Juliet. "Are we supposed to kiss now? I mean am I supposed to kiss you?" God, I hope not. Nothing personal on Juliet, but I don't think either of us would enjoy it.

‹Juliet› "So you do admit you set this up." She smirked softly as she held up the rabbit foot and dangled it at him before putting it into the pocket of her jacket. At his comment, Juliet blinked a few times and then gave a shake of her head followed by a nervous chuckle. "No, friend date. I kissed you on the cheek as a thank you?"

‹Roderic› I shrug. "Phoenix said you needed to get out and she was right." I say, then look around, waiting to hear if I was going to have to kiss her. "Oh." I look back at Juliet, still not sure why she would have to kiss someone to thank them. A thank you would have sent the same message. But maybe Juliet is an expressions sort of person. Shows how she feels. "Right." I nod, like I knew that was why she kissed me on the cheek. "Are we going to hang out again?" Did I care if we were going to hang out? I wanted to think not, but the night wasn't bad. It was even partly enjoyable. Even if we hadn't killed a single person.

‹Juliet› Maybe she needed to get him out more, or at least try to have him talk more with the patients at the Asylum. "We can, if you'd like." She smiled, "and yes, I did. Sometimes I just forget there's more than just work, you know?"

‹Roderic› Would I like to? I nod, not sure yet. I'm pretty sure she'd think I was nodding at her question and not her statement. That would buy me some time to think about the idea of hanging out with Juliet. "Yeah. We could hang out again." I say after a long pause of silence. "If you remember there's more than just work." I add in, even if I know all I'd have to do was email her and she would hang out with me.

‹Juliet› "I shielded you yesterday, that should show you I at least recognize family as something else." She chuckled faintly before she gave a small shake of her head, "It's more important than work."

‹Roderic› I nod. "Thanks for that. I meant to tell you that before, but got side tracked with this thing." I shake the gps, like doing that would make it better or something. Then I realize something, or so I think. She said that because she was expecting a thank you. I lean forward and kiss her cheek as quick as possible, then lean back and even take a step back to escape the strange custom of thanking people in this way. I hope I'd never have to do this with Phoenix. I might stab her afterwards.

‹Juliet› She was caught off guard as she blinked gently, trying not to snort given he had just seemed so offended at the idea of kissing her before. For Juliet, it was always a friendly sense and she hoped that Ric understood that. "It's alright, April mentioned she helped you find hunters?"

‹Roderic› "Yeah. A couple of them." I nod my head, glad she said something after I had to thank her in her custom. I was going to go online later and see what I can find out about Mexican culture, for the next time we hung out. If we did. I wasn't sure. Not if kissing was involved. Even on the cheek. "And one of those other things. I managed to cut its head off. Seems the stores like them for whatever reason." I shrug and look back at the direction we came from. "Ready to go back?" Going back would be good. No reason to be too close to Juliet, or for anyone to be kissing cheeks.

‹Juliet› "A Paladin? I've only recently gotten to kill them. I do well in all those buildings where they gather though." She thought about how awkward it was, being without her rifle. After a moment of thought, she reached into the waistband of her jeans and held out a knife wrapped in black silk. "You lost this the night I shot you."

‹Roderic› I look down at what she had in her hand and can make out the hilt of a knife. It wasn't my favorite, but I definitely hated to lose knives. I smile again and reach for it. "Thanks." I look up at her face then, remembering I cut her in her eye. "Your eye is alright, right?" I had stabbed her in other places, but if I had damaged her eye, I'd feel...bad? Guilty? She needed her eyes to work, something she liked doing. "And yeah, I think it was a Paladin. He was stronger than the other guy." I shrug and take the knife from her.

‹Juliet› "I healed it after you were in the Shadow Realm, it's one of my powers from being a mystic." She explained, she had another one to heal later - her neck that had been shot from earlier in the day. "I wasn't really too concerned, I can always sit around the office and make others do everything needed anyway."

‹Roderic› I nod. That was probably true. I put the knife behind my back, in the band of my jeans and take a step towards the way we came. "I think I remember that power. From when I was a blood thief." If it was the same power, it was useful as hell. "Maybe next time we do this hanging out thing, you could pick what we do." After this hang out, I don't know what else we would do.

‹Juliet› "Mystic healing." She clarified and then pondered, giving a small nod of her head, "That'd be good, I'll have to think on something to do, really.."

‹Roderic› "I can walk on water." I thought it was the best power I had, even if the river was frozen. Wouldn't be forever. "Alright." I nod my head and shake the GPS again. "I'm not sure how to get back with this." I admit. "I had some guy put the things in for me yesterday." I look at Juliet. "Got that compass still?" I look down at her hands, hoping she hadn't dropped it.

‹Juliet› "Bag," She explained and then collected the compass from it, offering the device to him a moment later before she offered the bag to him a moment later, tucking the camera into her pocket after a moment.

‹Roderic› I take the compass and the bag and hold the thing up after putting the bag on my shoulder. "Cool. Let's head this way." I point before I take off, but not too quick. We were hanging out still. Until Juliet decided she didn't want to hang out with me, I guess. I wasn't sure when hanging out ended. What if it never ended? What if Juliet never left? Was that possible? When could I ever do my other work if we were hanging out all the time? I wonder if she'd be offended if I told her to go somewhere. I hate Phoenix put me up to this without telling me anything about hanging out. "So what are you going to do for the rest of the night? Once we get back?" I was interested, mostly because I had to know how long we were hanging out for.

‹Juliet› She followed after him quietly, tucking her hands into her pockets as she usually would and then blinked in Roderic's direction at the question. What did she have planned, anyway? Work? She was a workaholic but wasn't the point of it was to get her out? "I might go for a run, clean up my office."

‹Roderic› "Clean up the office?" I look at her and shake my head. She wasn't supposed to go back to work. Great. Now we'd have to hang out longer just to keep her from going back to her office. I could think of worse things to do, but I had a date with a man in his mid thirties on the other side of town. I doubt Juliet would want to tag along for that. "I like to run." I remind her. "Maybe we could do that sometime. Together." As long as she didn't mind my runs being more of a scouting for people expedition. "I thought we could use that Polaroid camera. Maybe take some pictures of some things in the city before we stop hanging out." I didn't have that planned, but she wasn't supposed to go back to work. So I had to say something.

‹Juliet› "I've been sleeping there," She reminded him with an uplifted brow before she chuckled, "Fine. I'll do that tomorrow, and I can always just watch tv there I guess." She wiggled her nose at the idea. Sleeping on the couch in Nix's apartment wouldn't kill her one night. At the mention of using her camera, she looked down at her pocket and then back to Ric, "Alright, sounds good, unless you have somewhere else to be?"

‹Roderic› I turn and head in the other direction when I hear the sound of a car horn honking. We must be getting closer to the city limits, not that I doubted my tracking skills. I just didn't realize we had walked so fast. "Somewhere to be?" I ask, wondering what made her think that. What did Nix tell her? I wasn't even sure Nix knew much about my life, but maybe it was some sort of special vampire power she had being she made me this. "Not really. Nothing I can't do later." There was tomorrow or a couple hours from now. "This way." I point towards where I know the city is at.

‹Juliet› "Yes, somewhere to be. You mentioned work outside of work, I'm sure you have others than just us you talk to, too." She explained, climbing over a fallen tree branch before she straightened out her heel and continued walking.

‹Roderic› "Oh." I nod my head. "I sort of have an appointment." I admit. "It's not far from Phoenix's place." That was a lie, but she couldn't go to work. If she went to work, then I failed and I really don't like the idea of that. I move around a tree and keep heading straight ahead until I veer right a little. "We could go the same way, since you're going that way and I'm going that way too."

‹Juliet› "Alright, that would work." She lifted her lips into a light smile once more as she fell into step beside him - the best that she could, at least, given the decay on the wooded floor.

‹Roderic› I nod and look over at her once she's linear to me. I don't mind any. After I make sure Juliet's tucked away in the apartment, I'll swing back to the bar, pick up my stuff and be on my way. "I stopped by refractions yesterday. Before work. It's nice in there." I say. More small talk. "I saw some stores for sale too. Is it a good location?" I thought about buying a store, but wasn't going to waste my time doing all that if business wasn't good in the mall.

‹Juliet› "It is, I'm very pleased with the studio admittedly. The jewelry store is the right of it, and I believe Blackadder isn't too far from that either." She grinned faintly, "The clinical piece I'm working on, at least. The entire Mall is really nice."

‹Roderic› I nod as we reach the city limits, which wasn't far from a place I had stopped in once or twice before. Some maze thing. "I'll think about it then. Thanks." My thanks is genuine and this time, I'm not giving her a kiss on the cheek. I don't think that's necessary and we're walking anyways. "See, didn't get us lost." I nod, glad I hadn't. We'd probably never hang out again and Phoenix would text me odd things and that was something I just wanted to avoid.

‹Juliet› "Mhm, it gets really busy during the holidays." She thought about the jewelry store and how well it had gone. Juliet thought about it and then snapped her fingers, "Actually, I do need to go do something. I haven't fed," It showed how distracted she was often, really, "So I should probably go do that before going to Nix's place, then go looking for some things. I can send you a telepathic later to let you know I made it there safely?"

‹Roderic› I didn't like this idea. What if she went back to work? But if I said anything, she might not hang out with me again. "Yeah, sure. I've got to get some things from Phoenix's place later anyways, so maybe I'll see you there." Another lie, but I'd be damned if she went to work and thought she could pull a fast one on me. "So see you later maybe." I shift the backpack on my shoulder and head towards the train station.

‹Juliet› To be fair, she could do her work from the apartment. She often had done it when she'd gotten injured or burnt. In fact, if she remembered correctly, she still had her laptop stashed underneath the couch. She hoped. But she really did need to feed, that much wasn't a lie. "Later 'Ric! And you likely will." While she perfected the art of lowering tabs so he couldn't see the screen.
