Something Special
It was clear something was special about Ishani-Snow. It wasn't just the fact she was as smart as any high school student, or the fact that she had always believed in demons and angels though perhaps not exactly the way normal children believed. It wasn't that she believed that she was something special the beloved daughter of Satan. No there was something different in her chi.
The Sorcerer who had come across her had traveled long and far from China. Some had already been lost from this choice, this path, becoming vampiric in nature. Still the man had thought it best to get in contact with someone who he had stumbled across while searching for those special souls with his brethren.
So when the man had come across the child, he quickly felt the pull of her energy. He knew that she was special, perhaps more so than anyone else he would come across in this city. He quickly talked to her grandfather about her being trained in their ways and the elderly man didn't see any harm in it as long as she was kept safe and was taken to the temple where she began to learn how to focus her Chi. Ishani-Snow learned quickly how to calm herself down or at least was able to sit quietly without stirring any. Then the Sorcerer told her it was time for her to begin her last test. So Ishani-Snow lead her towards the edge of the wilderness and began to explain the task she would have to face.
“Alright my little Princess of the Snow.” he smiled kindly down at her and she stared at him like he was a bit mad but she liked being called a Princess for sure. “You must enter the wilderness and search for five wolves. You must watch them, grow to understand them, what they do, how they react. What it means to be one with the wolf.” he patted her on the head. “You may return if you get confused and I will explain in more detail to you what you are expected to do. Are you ready?”
Was she ready? Of course she was ready. She had played with the things behind the fence and had played in the sewers. This would be a piece of cake, and that was much better than candy. “Yes Master Weirdo” she watched him frown some but not try to correct her again.
And so Ishani-Snow entered the wilderness to begin her search for wolves. She hadn't have to walked to far into the wilderness to find herself lost within the trees. It was easy enough to get lost out here which is why she rarely went away from the edge of the city noise. Now that she was out here she had to find wolves and that was proven to be a bit harder than she had expected.
Blue eyes scanned the trees, looking for any sign that something had been through this area. She saw nothing as she walked down the nature made path. It hadn't taken her long to come across a pair of footprints. Leaning over she stared at the long claw shape, “this is either a kitty or a doggy” she nodded her head not realizing it was neither, it was a bear foot prints. Standing back up she followed those footprints further into the wilderness.
After walking around following those tracks Ishani-Snow came across not just the bear in the wilderness but a mountain lion as well. Neither being what the old man had told her to look and watch. Which meant they were fair game for her to play with.
Her eyes sparkled as she reached in pulling out her blades, her eyes widen some in the horror, her knives were all gone. She let out a small scream as she the mountain lion turned and went after her, turning on her heels she ran.

Re: Something Special
She felt she was far enough out in the wilderness to undress without worry of being seen, so Alexandrea began to remove her clothes, folding them up neatly and putting them in a plastic bag before hiding them in the branches of a tree. It had been a long time since she had taken a run through the woods in her meaner things form and Alex was anxious for the freedom she felt when she could just be a part of nature to just feel things, to not have to think about anything.
Just as Alex was about to shift, she heard the what sounded like a child's scream. A moment later, the sound of someone running towards her inspired Alexandrea to become much better acquainted with a near by bush. The branches scratched her pale skin but Alex stayed hidden until whomever was running her way went passed. Her mouth opened to scream when she saw it was Snow and that there was a mountain lion right behind her.
But Alexandrea didn't scream. The child knew what Alexandrea was, so Alex sent into her head to keep running but try to circle back. That Alex was close and that she was on her way to help.
She didn't waste time with shoes or even pants, just her jacket which was long enough to cover all the things a little girl shouldn't have to see. Dropping the bag on the frozen ground with the rest of her things, Alexandrea was able to outrun the lion and grab up the child. She then jumped up into a tree and sat Snow down on a branch as the lion started to climb up after them.
Alex jumped back down and went nuts on the big cat with razor sharp claws of her own. It wasn't until she had ripped the poor feline into pieces, that Alex realized what she had done and felt bad. She loved animals, especially cats...

Re: Something Special
Ishani-Snow hadn't been expected anyone to appear within the wilderness, let alone someone she knew even more so not someone who would scoop her up like a sack of potatoes (as she would of called it). Yet that's exactly what happened when Alexandrea seemed to magically appear out of no where, and not exactly neat, she looked to the seven year old as if she had just rolled out of bed, which with her young mind, had her now believing that the woman lived within the wilderness, maybe even in a hole, her mind started to run wild with the thoughts of living in a hole like a groundhog but they quickly changed when she found herself in a tree to the idea that the woman lived in a tree.
There she sat starring at the woman with wild eyes, when it was all said and done and the cat taken care of she just starred. It wasn't because she was in any shock, no, it was because she couldn't get the idea out of her head that the woman who gave her pointed objects, lived in a tree. After a short while she opened her mouth, closed it, then opened it again this time speaking. “You... have a nice... tree.” she said staring at the tree for a moment before looking back at her, “Where do you go potty?”

Re: Something Special
Alexandrea rubbed some snow on her hands as the razor claw withdrew, trying to clean off the Mountain Lion's blood. The voice of the little girl above her in the tree drew her eyes up and she just stared at Snow through the bare branches of the tree.
Had Snow not seen what a monster Alexandrea had just been in her rage against the animal that was ready to eat the little girl? Perhaps not. Or maybe Snow was in shock? Alex knew the child was different and pretty fierce even for an adult. Could it be that she just wasn't bothered by what had just happened?
After a few long moments of just looking at Snow, Alex called out an answer to her. "No one can own a tree, Snow. No one except the earth. But it is a nice tree, isn't it? And it will keep you safe until I get back. I won't be long so just hold it if you need the potty and then I'll get you down and take you home."
Alexandrea rushed back to her now wet clothes, scattered in the snow where she had dropped them and dressed quickly. A quick dash back to the tree and Alex jumped up to sit on a branch across from Snow.
"Are you ready to go?"
There were a ton of questions that Alex had for the child about why she was out in the woods alone, but getting her safe came first. The questions could come later.

Re: Something Special
Ishani-Snow stared at Alexandrea not exactly given her any words, but it was almost as if the woman before the child, who had been cleaning mountain lion blood off of her, had sprouted tails, wings, horns, and a fifth head. All while she was in underwear, her grandmother would never approve of such a thing, let alone allowing the child to be around someone who had just gone about running and killing in her underwear. Though even Ishani-Snow had to admit it was better than that one guy who lived in their apartment complex, on the same floor as them, about the guy who sometimes came home naked. Sometimes he left naked too but she wouldn't tell them about the cops anyways, angels could not be trusted in her head.
Her eyes finally looked back at woman's own face, “Your naked” alright so she was not really naked, “do you always fight like that? I know a guy who lives in our building, he runs around naked. I asked him once why. He said something about cloths not getting dirty.” she pointed at what Alexandrea was wearing, “But your kinda still wearing some, does that mean you taken those off and putting them in a baggy?” she would of rambled on but at that chosen moment she figured she should go get dress because she alone in the tree.
“COME BACK YOU TREE FAIRY! I WANT OUT OF YOUR TREE!!!” she would of stomped her foot but she simply sat there growling and muttering about tree fairies trying to kidnap little girls. By the time she had finished her muttering, she was back, and she was no longer stuck in a very high tree. “Thank you. Though you shouldn't of left me there in the first place” she muttered the last part as she felt the ground.
“Can't go...” she said simply turning on her heel and walking back the way she came. “I gotta kill them see. I was told that's how ya gain Potter Powers. I'm gonna become like Potter see.” she turned and pointed at her. “And you ain't putting me in no more trees you Tree Fairy!” she crossed her arms and glared at her as if tempting the woman to try before making her way back down the path. “You killed my lion. Now I gotta find another one.”

Re: Something Special
Ignoring Snow's comments about her state of undress, Alexandrea had just done what she needed to do to get the child back on the ground. It made her chuckle to be thought of as a tree fairy however and so she took a moment to clear that misconception up. Maybe she would explain about he clothes and her ability to shape shift into a bunny later on. She hadn't decided yet. Too many others already laughed at Alex's meaner things form.
"Actually a tree fairy would be called a Dryad, Snow. And although I am sure it would be wonderful to be one? I am not a Dryad. A real Dryad wouldn't be able to leave their tree. And you've only ever seen me in the city before tonight, right? So there you go, there is no way that I can be a 'Tree Fairy'. Understand? And I wasn't trying to kidnap you. Just protect you. But you are right, leaving you behind alone in the tree wasn't very nice of me and I apologize."
What came out of the little girl's mouth next had Alexandrea's eyes bugging out and her jaw dropped. Before she could stop Snow, the child started to storm off away from her.
"Snow! Wait up!" Alex rushed quickly to get in front of her young friend and getting down to the child's eye level, Alexandrea frowned. Partly in confusion and partly in concern.
"I don't know what 'Potter Powers' are, Snow. But there is no way I'm going to just walk away and let you go get yourself mauled by a lion!"

With her arms on her hip, and a smug look upon her face she looked at Alexandrea the Tree Fairy, “Tinkerbell and her friends can leave their trees.” she wiggled a finger at her “So you can't fool me. You are a Tree Fairy. Plus fairies come in all sorts of sizes.” She gave one single nod of her head.
“As for Potter Powers. Don't you know Harry Potter?” she said walking around the woman as she went on, “Course they go to school but I'm done with school, so I have to go about a mountain lion and I'm a demon so that might have part to play why I never got a letter from Hogwarts.” she spoke in a matter that everything was exactly real and that was perhaps due to her memory. Though photographic she apparently didn't acknowledge things that to her wasn't important while only recalling what was or what she required to move further along on her goals.
“See this was old guy and he was telling me that I had some special chi, not that I know what a chi is... but has to do with Harry Potter Powers.... and he said I had to fight the lion but...” she said turning towards Alexandrea, “I can't kill it. I got to make it scared of me that IT runs away.”

Re: Something Special
Alexandrea had to fight down a case of the giggles as the little girl glared at her with hands on hips and the wagged her finger at Alex. Knowing that Snow was completely serious and wouldn't take well to being laughed at, Alex just faked a cough to cover her amusement and put a hand over her mouth to hide her grin. The definitive nod of the child, conveying her absolute certainty was the icing on the cake and Alexandrea's eyes sparkled in merriment.
"Okay, Snow. You win. Cat's out of the bag. I'm a Fairy. But it's a secret, k? Can I trust you to keep my secret, please?" She said in a semi-serious tone, hoping to just humour the child and get her to focus on the real issue. That hunting lions wasn't a sport for little girls.
Snow circled around Alex, going on and on about someone named Harry Potter. Alexandrea thought the name was familiar... maybe from some kids movie? But she hadn't seen them, being way more into Science Fiction than Fantasy so she wasn't sure. She recalled a gang of small children and even a few adults all wearing the same scarf and witches' hats while waiting in line at a movie theater one time. The movie advertised at that time had been something about a chamberpot. Alexandrea hadn't liked kids back then, she hadn't even liked her self back then. So she had just hurried home and away from the noise. But it this 'Harry Potter' was important to her friend? Alex would have to try and learn something about it. And from the way that Snow went on and on about the subject? It must mean something to her.
"Well, maybe you'll introduce me to your friend Harry Potter one day? If he means that much to you, I want to know him too. But wait... what did you just say? You're done with school??? Why? Don't you want to keep learning? And what are Hogwarts... I get the feeling you don't mean pig pimples. And why would you want a letter from them And want does any of that have to do with you being out here all alone trying to hunt a bloody mountain lion???"
But this was Snow. Snow was as stubborn as they came and she had her mind made up. Frowning, Alex gave the little girl a nod. "Okay then, if that what it takes to get you home? I'll help you find one."
Of course what Alexandrea really planned to do was stay behind Snow the entire time and then change into something monstrous to try and frighten the big cat away her self and then just let Snow believe she had chased it off her self.

Huh. Was all Alexandrea thought to that. She hadn't a clue why some old man would instruct a small child to go wandering in the wilderness and chase around wild animals but once she got Snow safely back to town, she planned to ask the child how she could find this 'old guy' and then give him an *** kicking he wouldn't forget. The very idea of it. An adult telling a 7 year old to go look for a dangerous animal? Maybe he had been kidding? Like when someone would say; 'hey kid, why don't you go play in some traffic?'Ishani-Snow wrote:

She wrinkled her nose at Alexandrea before shrugging, “Okay. Don't worry, I know other Fae people too but you are the first tree one.” she shook her head “besides, adults don't believe in things, they always gotta come up with some silly logical reason for the magic stuff. Kids are smarter because they know.”
It all made perfect sense to Ishani-Snow, there came at a time when adults chose to stop believing in the supernatural world, the make-believe world and their childish behaviors. They assumed it was because it made them smarter but in Ishani-Snow's eyes, it just made them stupid. When the signs were clear there was more, but then again. That's how her daddy made his appearance within their hearts, turning them away from the evil being that was God.
Looking back at Alexadnrea she raised an eyebrow at her, “You know Harry Potter isn't real right? He's a story, but he's about a real person.” she said with a nod of her head as she kept walking in search of her next lion. “See, it's a story they tell to protect the innocent person. He wouldn't want people getting up in his personal life, trying or trying to draw him into the public eye. As long as people believe he's just a story...” she turned this time to face her, “Then the grown-ups won't believe in him and keep fighting about if he's a good role model or not for children...” she turned on her heel as she kept walking, “while us kids. We know the truth. It's there. Like in the Percy Stories. All that stuff is real... but grown-ups try and hide that stuff from us... and then they can't understand why we get hurt trying to find it.”
Pausing in her footsteps she felt something was off. “I gotta do it by myself, you can help me look... but then you gotta go away.” she didn't look at her as she said it but her hands were balled into list fists. “I can't have you playing any tricks either. Fairies are good at tricks.” she turned to look at Alexandrea, “Do ya understand Tree Fairy? If you get in my way, I'll have to hurt you to keep you from getting in my way.”
There was a sort of darkness in the way her eyes looked at her, it went beyond self importance or childish behavior. Perhaps it was due to her mother's abuse that had resulted in the dark aura that seemed to surround the seven year old child. Still it almost never appeared, almost never showed it's face just how twisted minded this little girl could be. Soon a smile played across her lips and as it was almost as if nothing had happened as she turned on her heel and skipped down the bath singing row row row your boat.

Re: Something Special
She sighed far too heavily for a vampire and smiled softly. Snow was a very obstinate child. Alex already knew, that no matter what she said or did? The little girl's mind was made up. Snow had it in her head that she would get 'magic powers' if she went along with whatever that silly old fart that she had seen earlier had told her.
Alex almost chuckled. It was hard to blame the girl. Here she was, living in a town filled with the mysterious and the unknown but no one was really letting her 'in' on the 'secret'. Alexandrea almost could feel sorry for the child. Snow had never told Alexandrea about her beginnings, but the Woman couldn't help but get a feeling that her young friend? Had been though some ****.
Alex's lips parted as she went to say something soothing to Snow, and her brow furrowed while she debated how best to address the child's real concerns. She meant to let the little girl know that Alex would always have her back, no matter what. And that tree fairy or no? Snow could count on Alexandrea to always be there.
But before Alex could speak up, Snow went on to elaborate on what was wrong with 'adults'. Alexandrea listened closely as Snow spoke about how adults just dismissed things that they couldn't explain. The little girl had a good point. Even before she had been turned into a creature of the night, Alex had often experienced things her self that she wouldn't tell anyone about, out of fear for what others might think.
She considered what Snow had said. Alexandrea couldn't find fault with the logic. It was true that children kept a far more open mind than adults did. Alex suspected that one of the reasons she was so fond of the child was due to the fact that Snow could fully enjoy and embrace things that Alex was no longer able to. Snow's spirit was still open to all the many possibilities that Alexandrea had long ago given up on.
And then she was completely taken off guard when Snow went on to point out that her friend harry Potter wasn't real, but continued to keep her mouth shut as Snow continued. And Alexandrea got quite confused when after the little girl had who had just claimed that this Harry Potter wasn't a real person, went on to say that he was???
It took Alex a minute to understand what Snow meant to say was that she believed Harry Potter was real but that everyone was supposed to think that he was just make believe. At least that was what Alexandrea thought the little girl meant. Sometimes Snow was a bit hard to follow.
Alex didn't really know what to say about any of that, or about how it was the fault of the grown-ups that kids went off and got hurt trying to figure things out on their own. Alex just kept following behind Snow, until the child stopped and declared that she had to fight a lion on her own. The little girl almost seemed angry, and a dark cloud seemed to cross over Snow's face as she looked at Alexandrea and threatened to hurt her if she got in the child's way.
Bemused, Alexandrea was too stunned to say anything. Not that she for a second believed that Snow could her hurt but it wasn't a very good feeling knowing that her young friend would be willing to try. Alex stared after Snow as the child went on, happily skipping and singing a song as if nothing had changed.
