Sorcerers are now available as a player-character human class. They can be picked on character creation, or the class can be gained in-game by following instructions given by apprentice sorcerers, who now appear in the city in public locations.
Sorcerers are a modern spin on old Chinese myths and legends about monks with special "chi" focussing abilities. This does not mean that your character would have to be a kung-fu master. Not at all. The concept here is that your character was born with a potential for great power in their life-force energy, and when this power is truly unlocked by an existing sorcerer (or by many decades of training), the character becomes a sorcerer. Although their powers could be applied in ways which would make them seem like old buddhist monks or kung fu warriors, this is not the only option for them, from a roleplay perspective. Sorcerers, when they grow sufficiently powerful, are also able to heal wounds, and direct their chi energy outward to cast powerful elemental spells.
As such, a sorcerer's powers focus on aspects which are best suited to human support roles such as healing, buffing allies, performing rituals, and so on. However, there is an option for them to also become, essentially, battle mages, if that's what you prefer.
Their starting stats are as follows:
Strength = 6
Dexterity = 10
Skill = 9
Intelligence = 7
Willpower = 10
Charisma = 5
Healing = 7
Stamina = 12
Arcane = 10
Although these might seem like strange stats for a sorcerer or a chi warrior, they were chosen when compared with the other 2 existing human classes. They are necessarily stupid at all, for example, but their chi gives them no innate boost to their intelligence to start off with, so they start with fairly normal human intelligence levels. In contrast, their ability to access their life-force energies from the get-go means that their stamina and willpower levels gain a natural, logical headstart.
The only other difference you need to be aware of is that they gain PXP each day only if their anima is low (3 points or under). This is because their power only grows with great amounts of practice, and so the more they use their powers the better.
Please report any bugs as soon as possible. This was a rather large update, and as such the sorcerer class is essentially in alpha testing.
