[tCotR] Rosalie Waters

Glancing over the threads on the crownet, switching screens back and forth from it and the bounty list. There is no one there, so he switches screens back to the crownet, reading the thread about the increase of hitmen and enforcement in the streets. It doesn’t really affect him, as his path of travel takes him from his apartment to the catacombs, feeding on the way, and back again. Every now and then he will change the exact path to mix it up and make sure he’s not predictable. Mid-thought Axel switches screens again, back to the bounty board. There is something there this time but it’s not for long. Just as fast as the bounty had be posted, it disappears all the same. It’s almost as if it were placed there as a fake.
Rosalie Waters 7 $1600

The refreshes the page a few times and there it is, a blank bounty board. He’s never been the sort to want to delve deeper, want to look closer at things, but he switches screens back to the crownet. He goes as far back into threads as he can. It’s like he’s the beast in his dreams under the surface of the murky water, searching for prey or in this case, just a vampire. He can’t find anything, nothing. It’s like the vampire doesn’t exist at all. At this point he is in his apartment, pacing around, moving from the couch to the computer and back again. He can’t wrap his mind around how something so meaningful can jump that high then drop down to nothing over a few moments. It was like lightning. Perhaps the person has hired or is a hacker that can delete files on systems.

After several hours of wracking his mind and trying to figure out what is going on, he gives up. He makes his way over to the couch, turns off all the lights in the apartment. He has offered his childe, Renee his bed for the time being. It’s not too bad on the couch anyway, means he’s closer to the door should his ex, the Paladin invade his home again. He wouldn’t be able to forgive himself if Renee were to become harmed by the woman just for being in his apartment. Slowly, unable to fight the sleep that is drawing his eyes to shut, he falls into that dreamscape again. Soon, he would awake in the chair in the tattoo parlour, sitting there as if he were prepped for ink to be done.

The bar scene, even the most high class types are not Axel’s style. Even in his human life Axel was more enthusiastic about sitting at home with a book. However, now, Axel is a monster, one that stalks the most pristine of humans as prey. The man knows that some vampires only hunt those that kill humans, he knows that other vampires hunt criminals, no. Axel hunts those that do good in the world; the kind of people that save lives and promote well being. This particular human, he’s been tracking, stalking, hunting for a few days now. This man, this mortal is a practitioner of medicine, more specifically experimental medicine. How dare he play ‘God’ and decide whether cancer exists or not? Cancer is, while mutated, living cells that have functions of their own. That purpose? To kill the person that they are ailing. Axel has no issue with this. Slow death, painful death, quick death, bleeding out in an alleyway. It doesn’t matter to him. As long as humans continue to reproduce like rabbits, he’s sure that he’ll never have to worry for blood. Lately, though, he’s stopped killing all his victims, and settled for killing those that are everyday heroes.

Entering into the building, he looks around and sniffs, sensing where the human is but doesn’t say anything to anyone. Sure, he nods his head at people as he passes then makes his way to a booth a decent distance away from the man. His eyes watch him, making sure that he is within his line of sight. There is something, or someone rather that has caught his attention. Blinking his eyes once he can see the heat impressions that bodies let off, and the room is full of them. There are a few people that kind of leave a lack of color, a dim blue, as they exert little to no heat. Flicking his eyes back, one woman has caught his attention. So much so that he has turned his gaze so completely from the human that he has come here to hunt. The reason for this shift of attention is that this undead woman is that she’s openly talking about being a vampire among humans. He’s sure that the Crow, that thing or being, or vampire of some sort that can see everything, has seen this already. Axel moves closer then listens to the woman as she talks, and it’s clear that she says her name. Rosalie. The connection is there, it’s made, firing between the neurons in his brain. Shaking his head a little bit, his appetite for the death the human is lost. He’s disgusted by this vampire breaking so willingly the masquerade.

September 8th, 2013

Going through the crownet again, his eyes move to the bounty board and he sees the name there again. Only this time it stays and his jaw drops. He’s absolutely baffled, the number, it’s higher than any he has seen before, and the only one he’s seen since his turning has been Melody, earlier this evening. Twenty-thousand is outrageous and he can’t even begin to fathom what someone has done to get such a price put on their head by the crow in this way. Though the way she was talking about being a vampire in public the other evening could be an indicator of just how far this particular vampire is willing to go. Either way, she has to die, it’s clear to him.

Standing up from the computer desk at his apartment he looks to the couch, knowing that Renee has left to feed. He leaves her a little note on the computer screen, telling her that he would be back after he handles some things. Telling her too much, he’s sure would have her worried about him, and that’s not the goal of this evening. The goal is to find the vampire. Grabbing the enchanted longsword, pulling it from it’s sheath to look it over before heading out. This resembles a sort of pre-conflict inspection. Once the blade is back in it’s snug home, clicking gently. Opening the door he wonder, even if for a moment, if that “Rosalie” would be so bold as to show her face twice at the same place with such a high bounty? It’s not that he’s assuming she would, but it comes to his attention that is she has the gall to speak with humans about being a vampire, then she would probably have no issue showing up twice. At least it’s a thought and one that, if true, could make this a quick night.

Strolling through the main double doors of the upscale bar, he looks around the room. His eyes scan around for the woman that he has seen here before. He’s surprised that the bouncers outside have let him in, but it could be because he slipped in alongside another group of people dancing in. The blade at his side, under the leather coat, he’s sure it’s obvious as it makes the whole coat stick up. Sniffing around he hopes to get a scent of her, he knows that she has come into this building within the last twenty-four hours. Still he wanders around, looking for the woman specifically. The question is, what would he do if he finds her? The most obvious choice is to call the members of the group that he is trying to join, but what if that opportunity doesn’t present itself? Sure it would be ideal if he could have a moment to sit and text some people that he knows for help, but what happens if he can't do that? What if he is on his own in this. He’s sure he could do it, it’s not like he would feel any remorse for the thing he is about to do. Nor does he have any doubts about what to do at all.

A contagious laughter fills the air in the upscale bar in the city as the upper-middle classed woman sat at the bar, a martini on the counter and a thin cigarette in an ashtray. She needs neither of them, but they remind her of what life once was before the one she had found her way in to. Two men, one in his late forties, the other in his late twenties have kept her entertained for the evening. She was what most would consider "a looker," and has money to boot. One male was looking for a sugar momma, the other, perhaps a wife that could meet his way of life in every way. Neither of them will mean anything to her after tonight, or tomorrow, depending which one she decides to take home, if she found them worth while after this conversation.

Fangs glistened every once in a while, when the clubs lights hit them as she let more and more laughter pass through her lips. She doesn't find anything, any of them say remotely funny, but she had a need, like most healthy, thirties woman had. So, charming, pretty blond who found whatever they said funny (within reason, no one wanted an airhead or ditz) was on the agenda for the evening.

She momentarily leaves the conversation to look down at her phone, a Blackberry that was resting not far from the ashtray. She confirms her appointment for tomorrow evening with one of her more "shady" clients. There is an immediate reply back, with a confirmation number to a bank account off shore with the cash she was promised for doing what it was she needed to do. In return for doing what she needed to do, her police liaison would be twenty thousand dollars richer in two nights time. The blond shifts her leg to put the other one over the other as a hand grabs her cigarette to take a quick inhale in before she puts it out, as her other hand sets the phone down.

"So, either of you boys spend the night with a real life vampire?" Her voice was like velvet as she purposefully showed her fangs off with a flick of her tongue, before the woman stood and made her choice. The younger male would do, so she blew the other male a kiss, grabbed the rest of her belongings and made a motion to the bar tender to let him know to close her tab for the evening. The younger male was blubbering about, in an attempt to maintain his masculinity (something she hadn't doubted) and to silence him, she wrapped her hands around his shirt and placed a firm, seductive kiss to his lips. Her hand slaps his butt before she laughs, and pulls him down the stairs to begin their night.

Her scent is here, his nose finally finds it amidst all the other smells in the club. He could list them all but the one that masks most of it is liquor, all kinds. Axel has never been one to be a drinker, even in his human life when he could, as alcohol kind of inhibited the brain. Keeping something from working which you use to make money could be a bad thing, so he never really got into the whole party scene or drink much more than one single beer. Pushing all his thoughts aside, he knows she’s here and there has to be a better way of confronting her rather than among all these humans. Starting a fight here, in the confines of this bar, upscale or not, would be sure to make news somewhere even if it’s just tabloids. Hell, some people even believe tabloids to be solid truth. So he starts to ponder on the means of which he should go about this. Then he hears her voice, smooth as he’s sure she thinks she is. Not smooth enough this time, not to pull this bounty off her head. The warrant has been signed and executioner has been dispatched. Slowly he recognizes what she has just said to someone in the room.

Shaking his head, it’s like she doesn't even know that she has a number on her head. Here she is again, in the building speaking to another human about being a vampire, and no doubt she is showing off something to prove that she is infact a vampire. Glancing up from the floor to the stairs he looks at her as she comes down the stairs and he is sure to make himself scarce. He places himself behind a group of humans sitting around and talking over drinks. Rosalie makes her way down the stairs and a male human follows her. Scanning the human over for a moment, he is sure that the man can’t be much younger or older than him. Axel himself is in his late twenties. The man following the masquerade violator can’t be a much older than twenty-seven if that. They walk toward the door, and once Rosalie is far enough toward the entrance, Axel moves back to follow. If she’s leaving it would be better for the attack. One human in private is an easier witness to get rid of than a bar full of humans in public.

The thought process plays out in his mind, watching them for the time being. It looks like she’s going to take him home for some reason or another. He can only assume the reason is not purely for food. She’s already divulged too much to the human to just feed from him and let him go on thinking nothing has happened. So how would this happen? Like a predator, he would stalk after them, following slowly either by foot or along the walls of buildings. The moment they are alone, hopefully before they make it to her apartment. Once there he won’t be able to get her out, he’s going to have to follow her without either of them noticing him, and without her getting to her apartment before hand. In his head he’s trying to decide the best place for the initial attack. Alleyways while mostly quiet and dark, are probably not a place that she’s going to go. She seems to be a too prissy for something like that, not wanting to get dirty. The other possibility could just to be to catch her outside of her apartment or house.

Standing behind a group of humans, putting distance between himself and Rosale; subsequently the innocent bystander that she has decided to bring along with her. Maybe she does know about her bounty and thinks that having a single human with her would protect her from anyone that would hunt her. He finds that a little hard to believe, but it could be possible, maybe some vampires have an issue with being murderers. Not Axel, if the human was still with her when he finally found a place to engage his target, he would die too. It might make a buffer between him and her, in her benefit, but it won’t stop him completely. So now, as he stands waiting for her to leave, he finalizes his plan: find a quiet area, pick off her human friend from behind, then engage the target. This seems to be the best way of handling things, however there are always complications that could raise up.

The male was absolutely besides himself. Either from her brass, abrupt nature, or from the fact she was in fact a vampire. Or maybe he just wanted to believe it because it sounded so dangerous and promised something exciting.

The man that she was with, decided to take a possessive approach after the kiss, his left arm wrapping around her waist as he melded them together as they walked side by side. She didn't mind it any, because Rosalie was used to this sort of thing. Using people for her own purposes and men were no exception to the rule. Her ties to the mafia scene were slowly becoming known, and so, not only was she using him as a **** buddy, to be blunt, but also as a deterrent to anyone who might have an issue with her. Or her boss.

A sleek hand fell into her purse, as Rosalie fished around for her car keys. It wasn't hard to find, because she had gotten a small key chain of mace as a gift from her employer many months ago. That was the thing she always fished for first, because it was the easiest to recognize. Not that she had ever used it before, but the woman grew accustomed to the thing the second she got it. For safety and security reasons. The woman was used to be quick on her feet and in her mind when the time called for it.

"I think, on the way to our private party, we should stop at the store," Rosalie stopped talking to let her fingers roam up the length of his shirt as she kept talking. "And get us some party favors. Maybe some of that beer you like, some of the wine I like...and a few other things." Rosalie purred against the side of his ear as she allowed herself to press closer to him, using his body to her full advantage once they stepped outside the upscale, elite night club.

Watching the female vampire leave the up class bar, her arm moves around the human to her side with a key in her other hand. She mentions something about having their own private party and he questions for a second if she means that they are going to have some sexual act. Innuendos are lost on Axel sometimes as he always speaks so literally about the things he is going to do or the things he wants done. Her keys seem to have a small cylinder attached to them, and he wonders if this is some sort of pepper spray and if she would try to use it on him. If she does it could be one of the most comical nights of his life. She is; however, keeping that human close to her like a meat shield. This won’t be a massive problem, just one that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. They move out to her car, noting that they are not going to be walking. His fingers and feet bring him down the side of the building into the alleyway. His bike is far enough off from her car that he can get to it and follow her unseen. So, casually he walks from the crack between the two buildings and makes his way toward the bike. As he does so he is several feet away from them. Far enough to not be noticed, he thinks, and covered up enough to not show that he’s pale as snow. The leather jacket, helmet, jeans and long sleeve shirt take care of that.

Straddling the bike he cranks it up, watching them from the visor of his helmet. They are going to a store on their way to her place, he’s assuming that last part. He’ll have to be careful on how he follows her. His hands hold the throttles and he sits patiently. Once she leaves he’ll wait a few moments, and then leave trailing behind her and a few other cars. Right now his feet are down at the ground as he waits patiently, acting as if he has someone on the inside that he is waiting for to come out. He doesn’t think that the fact that he doesn’t look like he would fit in there would really make much of a difference. He’s heard rumors though that the other vampire, a few vehicles down, has ties with the gangs in the city. This doesn’t bother him in the slightest nor does it scare him. He just wonders if she’s been selling her blood to the gang that she’s affiliated with to get them closer to dominating the city. This, in his mind is worse that being tied to gangs. Making the gangs work for her, without telling them she’s a vampire, that’s one thing, but to tell them and possibly help them along with blood and being an attorney. That’s not. He is growing impatient with the wait.

With an arm still linked around his waist and one of his around her's, Rosalie navigated them from the club, to her car with little problems. Her eyes kept a look out for any of her possible contacts or clients, or the worse sort of run in. The type a woman doesn't want to encounter when she's screwed over a few men in this city; literally and figuratively. Their walk was casual, while the two got better acquainted with the other. Her male companion spoke of his place on the upper middle class area of town. Rosalie wouldn't dare of going to some place like that, so she simply laughed, shook her head and murmured a "We'll see."

Her car wasn't too far away. She had slipped the driver at the club a twenty to make sure it was in the front two rows and he hadn't failed her. She pressed the unlock button twice, the lights on the front of the dark blue Audi R8 flicking twice to let her know that there it was in the middle of all the other crap it had been forced to rest by. Her companion let out a whistle as a finger glided over the top of the car's hood, Rosalie's eyebrows rising high. "Be nice to Lola. She treats me good." When they were close to her side of the car, Rosalie unwrapped her arm from him and grabbed the door's handle to open it. She looked around one more time before the woman lowered herself to the seat and waited for him to come around the car.

----

Their stop was at some organic whole seller that was only in a few communities, due to popular demand and because people who lived in this area could afford to buy a head of lettuce for around five dollars a head. Rosalie always believed that the body was a vessel and one should treat it with great care. It was obvious in the items she used to purchase in her home and her physique. She believed she had died in her true prime and was pleased with it. Rosalie would always be young, beautiful and fit looking. It was almost karmic in nature when she thought of it.

They had bought a few things. Her favorite wine, his beer and some things that would enhance the mood, if it was ever needed. Rosalie even broke down and bought him something to make in the morning, because the woman never slept alone. Some would perhaps see her as a whore, but the woman was always on guard and being smart. Once the items were paid for by him (because he insisted), the two were once again off to their final location; her place.

The car pulls from it’s spot in the lot and he waits a few minutes before kicking his bike into first gear. It’s not but a few moments later that he is behind the car that she’s driven off in. An Audi R8 is not a very common car among those on the street tonight and it’s hard to lose her as he drives through the streets. His eyes occasionally look down at the painted lines along the asphalt of the street. A light brings traffic to a stop, they keep driving, haven not been caught by the light. Instead of losing them, Axel, lifts the front end of the bike up and turns it sharply toward an alleyway, and speeds off. If he hits someone, then it is is their fault for not hearing the bike coming as it screams down the the dark area between two buildings. Dropping his knee down he makes a quick turn and comes out of the opposite street, turning just in time to catch the next turn that the car makes. He notes the change in direction and continues to follow the vampire and her car. Finally he is a few cars behind as they pull into the organic food place.

The drinking of wine, the choice in stopping at an organic place, brings the question to Axel’s mind if the vampire he is chasing is an allurist. It’s starting to becoming rather apparent that the woman may very well be. If she is this whole thing may very well be an issue. He’s heard that the powers the allurist path wields can keep him from attacking. He hopes that this isn’t the case because he might have to call in some help, and he doesn’t want to do that in any way or form. The male wants to kill his first target on his own to prove something to not only himself but those around him. He makes a quick loop around the store, stopping his bike at the corner and watching the car. Though the small shop is quiet and he can see the things that she buys piece by piece. The beer and the wine along with some sort of breakfast food. He shrugs his shoulder and then rolls his neck. His head and face are still shielded by the helmet and visor. Once the two of them come from the store he kicks his bike backwards to remain hidden in the corner of the store.

Waiting for the sound of an engine to crank up, he hopes that he can catch Rosalie off guard in the parking lot walkway to her apartment or home. He has to be sure that there are minimal humans around, or maybe even get her to invite him in somehow. That is if he doesn’t see an opening for him to take care of her and her companion. Now that he is narrowing in on his target he has had enough time to analyze his targets. The human is going to be simple. Axel is simply going to stab or slash some major artery or vein and allow him to bleed out. Hopefully he can get his mouth as he stabs him. The idea is to move behind, stab in a major organ and gag him at the same time as he goes to scream. The woman on the other hand doesn’t seem to be armed, but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t have the powers that make allurists annoying combatants. Pacification is the worse power, or even the matter that she has a thrall that may live on after Axel turns her to ash that he will have to hunt down. These are all the questions that he will have to find out as he goes into the first assault.

The woman lived in a well known set of condominiums, another security feature in her mind. Bigger than an apartment, but only three other "Families" shared her property. There was an owner who came around to do regular maintenance on the condo's once a month (or more if need be). Apartments provided little privacy, unlike condo's in Rosalie's mind, and yet, her neighbors would notice if the woman didn't come home two or more nights in a row. They weren't nosey, they were just a group of people that were comfortable keeping out of the other families hairs, unless asked to step in for some reason. Like, getting mail, or walking a dog, things to that nature.

She parked her car in one of her two designated slots, which was to the side of the four family condominium home. There was a light on towards the middle right side of the large property, but no where else. Rosalie let the male she was with take the items that were bought, because he offered and she really didn't want to carry them, and led them towards her home area. It was a walk through the small parking lot towards the side of the building, then past one family home and then another, in a round about way. The male stopped, assuming the place was hers when Rosalie came to a slow crawl in her walk, feeling more comfortable with where it was she was at. Her territory did that. "This way." She pointed a finger to the closed staircase on the outside of the building, which led to the very top of the four family condo. "I paid a little more for the view, but it was worth it." The woman didn't wait for his reply, being used to hearing complaints about the fifteen or so stairs they would have to climb to get to her place. Once in her home, the complaints usually stopped and so, to not go through any eye rolling tonight, Rosalie just cut right to the chase and went off with it.

The woman stopped outside her door, pressed the key in to the door's lock and then opened the door slowly with one hand, while the other went around the door quickly. She grabbed at something and then pulled it out to reveal a paper clip she had stored between the door and the frame of it. Satisfied her place was indeed hers and had not been looted or an intruder had come in to it, Rosalie pushed the door open wider and waltzed right in. "You can set the things on the table over there." She pointed to the table as the woman walked past it, intending on heading to the kitchen for a bottle opener and a wine glass for herself, leaving the male to do as she said.

Rosalie's car pulls up toward what he knows and has crossed by a few times. His eyes rest on it and he recognizes the building and buildings that are not too far off in the distance. As she pulls up he can see that the condo has a few parking spaces, one of which she has pulled into, there are six in total. It appears two for each and only two of the six are now full. One is taken up by her car and the other is taken by a car on the far left. His eyes trace from the car on the far left to the corresponding place of living. Those pair of blue eyes look around to make sure that he can see the other area. The condo, while being well known and lived in is rather quiet and there aren't many people wandering around in the darkness around the building itself. His fingers tap at the throttle of the bike and then thinks of tapping it into gear. The speed that he takes is, at first, slow and steady but as he sees that they move toward her building, he kicks it through gears at an almost incredible rate.

He's sure that both she and the human ca hear the moan of the bike beneath him as he comes toward them from across the street. From inside houses though the would just sound like someone speeding down the street as usually happens in any city. As he comes closer he can see that the human has his hands full with the items that they had bought at the other place and he grins, happy that this would take less time than he thought. Quickly shutting the bike off and letting it almost coast into a parking spot out of sight, he lays it down. At the time he doesn't have enough care for the thing, time is of the essence and if he takes too much time he will lose his chance to face the violator. As he lays the bike down he takes one fluid movement to jump off and draw the rather shining blade from his back. This is not the place where he usually keeps the blade but this is where it was for this endeavor as riding a motorcycle with a sword at your side is rather uncomfortable. Finally he starts his charge, seeing that the man is walking behind her. He keeps his feet as quiet as he can.

Before the human can make his his entire way up the stairs, Axel kicks him in the back of the knees as he moves up the steps. In passing the vampire takes the bags with one hand and rams his elbow into the human's head. The sheer power of his attack is enough to make him fall back down the stairs. His head bounces a few more time and his vampire assailant takes the bags and makes it up in the door to hear where they should be placed. He's not sure if he should take this as an invite or not so he attempts to walk into the building. He's not sure if the fact is that the human was invited, or really rather whoever was holding the bags and closet to her at the moment. He tries and as he's not able to come into the place he merely steps to the side of the door out of sight. His body pressed to the wall, bags of the items she bought is out of the way, over out of sight even more than him. The blade is down at his side as he prepares to shove it in the direction of the door. He won't be aiming to hit her, but trip her.

Rosalie was in her own little world at the moment. Everything seemed fine, so she did nothing unusual once her security checks were completed. With a glass of wine in her hand, the bottle in the other, the woman finally turned around, expecting to see her "date" doing as she asked him to. When she didn't see the bag, or him, the woman set the glass of wine down on the first surface she could find and headed to the door to call his name.

Only, she paused when she didn't even hear his steps coming up the stairs. He wasn't that drunk to be taking this long and she was sure he wanted what she was going to be offering him. Rosalie went to high alert, thinking the man was someone who was sent here for someone to take care of her. Maybe scare her, slap her around some, or even kill her. None of that really mattered, what mattered was that Rosalie was in high alert and her heart was beating triple it's resting rate.

She moved to the wall nearest the front door and tossed a picture off its hinges with a quick swipe of her hand. The picture didn't matter, even if it had cost her almost a thousand dollars, what was behind it did. She punched in a few numbers on the electric lock and allowed her heart rate to slow when she heard it unlock. Behind it was a glock hand gun, two passports and a decent stack of cash from the countries that matched her passport.

"Come on up here, you ********!" Paula shouted as she slammed the door closed to the wall safe, the woman hugging her back to the wall as she popped her head out the door. The man who was the real threat going unnoticed, as she was looking away from him, not expecting someone right there for the time being. "You don't know who the **** you're messing with!"
