UPDATE: 12 Talkative Wraith Guides

Post by Mooncalf »

Yes, this update is criminally late, but it was delayed due to the wraith guide competition.

All the wraith guide now talk back to you automatically in game if you give them certain keywords via the "speak" command. The entire purpose of this is so your characters can decide to either help or hinder each of the wraith guides on their quest to return to life. Now that the chapter is about to truly start, people can form opinions about the wraith guide personalities and determine which of them they feel are threats, allies, or something in between.

You might find that some wraiths have strange beliefs or ideas, which make you think they might not be allies to your own character. On the other hand, you might instead discover that a wraith has some valuable insights, or perhaps they seem like they could be a valuable ally to vampire-kind in future chapters. Some wraiths even give clues about the history of vampire-kind or the what the future holds. Some wraiths lie, some wraiths tell the truth, and some of them are just plain mistaken or insane. It's up to you to decide which is which.

You should also be aware that wraiths give more detailed replies (generally) to those with great charisma or speechcraft, and most are generally more favourable to those who have already trained under them. The questions which each wraith is willing to respond to varies slightly, as 5 of the wraith AIs were written by players of the game, and each wraith has his or her own history, personality, and subjects which might set them off. It's a very simple system, so I'll give you some examples of things you should try asking them:

"What is the crow?"
"What is the shadow realm?"
"What are your opinions on humans?"
"Who was the first vampire?"
"Where can I find lost rituals?"
"Tell me about the history of our kind."

And so on. They respond to keywords, so variations of these same questions would work just as well.

Please be aware that if you wish to roleplay real-time with one of the player-owned wraiths, Velia's player runs Revyia, Legion's player runs Klae, and Ariadne's writer plays Chematt. Gwyllia was also written by Keara's player, so if you really want a live / forum roleplay with Gwyllia at some point, Keara might be willing to consider it.

So take some time to form IC opinions about the wraiths, because it will be up to you which of them are resurrected, and which of them are forever banished.

ETA: To speak to Gwyllia, who currently has no forum account, please PM Keara Aithne.
