It Wasn't Me (New York)

OOC: Back dated to when she was in New York and human.
IC:
The end of August was coming near, Kira had been here in this city for almost a year. Almost a year since she woke up on a grave. With no memory of anything before that Halloween of 2011. She pulled her knees to her chest as she studied a map, trying to figure out where this pull was leading her to but all she knew it was to the North. She had plans to get a passport, just in case she was crossing the border. She would much rather find a way across without such papers though. She didn't exist in this world, no records. No one missed her, no one to miss her, no one was looking for her. She was alone. Her greens eyes drifted up to the room full of cots, people moving about or asleep. Alone in a room full of people. She didn't make any friends, the only use she was to these people was a protector. Mainly the women against one of the men who run this shelter.
Kira put the map away, watching the man move around the beds. He was rather tall, big, fair skin and hair. He would give you an extra blanket, food, money, if you gave in return. He preyed on those who were down on their luck and had no where to go. Just looking at him, she wanted to take a baseball bat to his head, to his knees. Cut open his chest to see if he even had a heart.
She leaned her head back against the wall, closing her eyes. Her eyes snapped open when she felt a hand on her knee. She glared at him, "Don't touch me, Joe." she hissed.
"You look so lonely...and cold." Joe replied with a smile.
"I will kick you in the face...or maybe I should aim lower.." Kira replied simply. The smile left Joe's lips and he removed his hand. "I rather be butt naked at the North Pole then to be warmed up by the likes of you." she added. She looked at the time and stood up, she quickly left and went outside.
During her time here, she had beaten up or killed those who were taking advantage of others. But they were in the act of doing so, beating someone, attempted murder, mug, rape, drug deals, the evils of the city. The people were grateful enough not to tell the police of who did it, mainly what she looked like. Which the annoying part was everyone mistook her for some damn Britney Spears person.
And she was normally covered in bruises, cuts, gashes. Not only because of acting on her wanting to fight others, and those were so easy to pick on. She also fought in cage matches in an underground area of a building that was no longer in use. That's how she made her money, it paid good, she got to beat someone up, it was a win-win.
She hurried down the alleyways, holding a dagger tightly. She didn't stop to wait for people to attack her, if they seemed threatening she just went on the attack. She went into the building and made her way down the stairs, everything was covered in several inches of dirt which was kicked up every time someone walked around in this place.
Kira got to the end of the stairs, the people were cheering and yelling. It was always males vs males and females vs females. Right now the males were fighting. She moved around the cage and the people, going to the area to get ready. Putting the dagger into her jacket and slipping it off. She sat down on the bench and started to wrap her hands.
"Oy, Kira!" this was someone she saw down here a lot, he took in a lot of bets. Dark skin, huge bedazzled sunglasses, large hat, flashy clothes. One would think he was a pimp. "Got a lot of money ridding on you honey. You beat those other women, give them a smack down!" he grinned.
Kira rolled her eyes. "I'll do my best just for you Tone. But if you're making so much money on me, why not cut me in on it." she said with a smile.
Tone flopped down next to her, putting an arm over her shoulders. He was merely friendly and meant nothing else by it. She was used to him. "Girl, I might do just that." he said. He then frowned, "You still plan on skipping town next month?"
Kira nodded, "I need more money for some fake passports though." she replied.
"Well, they'd pay you real good if you went against a guy. But wouldn't want such a pretty face to get all bloodied up." Tone said, tapping on her nose. "But there's a guy. I think you could really could do some damage to. You're smarter than these big brutes."
"Brute?" Kira said, she laughed. "Maybe, as my finally farewell." she added.
"Right on." Tone said, "Excuse me, more people, more bets to make!" he said and got up, slipping off into the groups of people.
Kira shook her head. He was a character. If it wasn't for the fact he liked making money at her expense, she might consider him a friend.
She heard a bell, sounding the end of the fight. One man was on the floor, the mat bloody. The other man, bleeding as well, swollen face, and was leaning against the cage.
"Kira and Tish, you're next!" the ring leader yelled.
Kira got up, tightening the wraps on her hands. They were hosing down the floor of the cage, it had a drain in the middle. The only area that did not have dirt.
