As Time Passes On

It's been a week since I've become a vampire. It's been one helluva bloody damn week too. I don't quite understand it but despite my being vegan before I was turned, I have found that the taste of human blood is better than anything I've ever tasted. When I get hungry it's not always pleasant. I've killed people. Lots of people. I didn't mean to. I just couldn't stop. I dumped their bodies into garbage canisters and in the woods. I feel bad for them, I really do, but I think I'm already coming to terms with it and I've gotten better at stopping before they die. Most of the time.
I haven't seen Ripper much. Correction. I don't think I've seen Ripper at all. There was this weird situation that could have been him I guess. I was just walking down the street when I heard a loud crunch of metal and a car's alarm system go off. When I turned to look to see what had caused the noise and expecting a car crash, I didn't seen anything amiss. Suddenly a fast wind blew past me out of nowhere. I know, wind is a natural occurrence but it hadn't been windy that night and it wasn't windy after that one gust. When I turned back around, right there on the ground in front of me was a gun that hadn't been there before. I think I would have noticed a gun on the ground or anyone around me to put it there. I took it of course. It's not like I really know how to use a gun but I figured now that I'm a vampire and my whole world has gone topsy turvy, I should probably protect myself somehow.
I finally got to see the quarantine zone! That is one of the times Ripper was around since I've been turned. I guess he's able to just hop the fence but I need to take some nasty route through the sewers. Can you believe I actually found a used condom down there? Who the hell would **** in a sewer!? I hope it just washed down the drain or something because that's just disgusting. I mean it's still disgusting if people are getting their rocks off in public but at least it's not in the damn sewers. Gross.
But anyways, the quarantine zone or the 'QZ' as I guess others call it. It's a pretty depressing place. Don't get me wrong, seeing zombies for the first time was exciting. Well exciting and frightening. There's dead bodies all over the place and the military men that guard the gates don't seem to take any notice at all to the vampires slaughtering zombies all over the place. I spent most of the week there learning how to shoot, practicing on zombies. I think I'm getting pretty good with the gun I found. I've only had to run away from a few zombies though there are these other creatures that I am far outmatched by. I don't know what they are though. One looks like a zombie but it's a lot faster and a lot more aggressive than the others. Then there's this....I don't even know what to call it. It looks like several bodies mutated into one creature and it bleeds green. What kind of creature bleeds green!? I stay far away from those creatures if I can.
Another really cool thing about being a vampire are the powers! I'm Wiccan so I've dabbled in rituals and spells you know but never anything like this. So far I've learned that I can feed in the most public of places if I focus hard enough and no one will see me. I've made someone sick just by wishing it upon them. That was kind of gross. Poor kid was puking all over Station Net Cafe and the clerk had to clean it up. I didn't stick around long after that. He shouldn't have cut me off and stole the computer I was trying to use though. And then there's this one last thing. I learned about it in kind of a weird way. I was in the quarantine zone and this guy kept stealing my kills. When he left I wished he just wouldn't come back in. When I left, I found him outside the door and no matter what he did, something kept him from entering. Maybe it wasn't me but seems to coincidental for it to have been anything else. I wonder what other kinds of things I'll learn.
