Watching the young vampire and her male escort scoot out the door, the bound man smiled. His abilities were returning and these retrains were no match for him. He had lived several lifetimes, though many cut short. Not too much like the slightly younger Killer, he came a generation before. Had they thought to bless the rope with a type of magic, things might've not been so easy. I wonder, does the little mouse even know what awaits beyond the hole? Clearly, it did not. And yet, it goes scampering forth to the Tom that awaits to snap its jaws. He knew well that she would not come back for him; no, no, the wolfish mouse was too smart for that. She would have made a good meal, too. She was Feisty, headstrong, and naive. Had he known the older was helping the little one, he would have stayed hidden. There was no attacking the other one. That one knew. But, it was too late to stop now, for the hunt had begun. Perhaps he could convince the vampire to help him catch the little pup. Oh yes. Not that he'd know of course. But, the bear would kill the wolf just as the cat caught the mouse.
His eyes remained closed in this thought, even as the rage of gunfire died. There was no need for him to escape, not yet. It was only when Ripper returned that the cadaver sanguine bothered to lift his gaze to the situation. He remained motionless even as the blade slid a crossed his jaw. His dark eyes remaining dilated to the monster but emotionally blank. It was only after the rope was cut that the monster eknowledged anything at all, and when he did, it was only to shift into a more comfortable position and be free of the effects of the remaining Rigormortis in his bones.
"Who says that I know anything?" He suggests in a tone that matches his face. But somehow, he knew that Ripper would see past it and the Telepath's mouth twitched ever so slightly. "The girl is obviously a might bit delusional. Either that or she's seeing ghosts, but with Childer these days, one may take the latter. She also has quite the mommy issues, wouldn't you say?" His face morphed into a cruel grin that would make a man's skin crawl. "Then again, watching someone die when it's your fault, surrounded by vampires...." He chuckled. "Her last moments were not pleasurable."
Little muttering soon filled the air after his words. He wondered what caused this, may it be the outside forces, or the whispers of souls and fae cursing his words. It only made him more invited to find her. His eyes shifted back between the walls. "As the voices roll in, dark things come out to play."

"And who's your Sire then, Whelp?" the Killer's repoiste was sent to at quickly.
"Is there some dark shameful lineage to hide? or perhaps is your blood not even pure enough to barely elevate from among the lesser undead."
Ripper's sneer of derision now was calculated and deliberate; he wanted to test the heat and temperance of this plebeian as well (for he once somehow he'd sensed instinctively that the death which claimed this one before him was not so far removed from that of his other new-- acquaintance?
Perhaps this whole entire night smacked tripply of a chance encounter. He couldn't remember if coincidences were usually statistically significant but it occurred to him
now suddenly that three rights might make a left...or was it the other way around?
"Grammar Nazis can all go burn in Cobb's hell. Give me any reason at all now for letting that wriggling ounce of useless flesh remain or I'll have it out your gob next on in just for time and kicks out on it. Once more though for the simple feebs, I'll sniff out any machiavellian dissembling like a dog fart on infrared vision.
*the tendons of his left most hand twinge as spasm after these words*

The creature's grin dropped. "Now, now, let us not judge based upon Sire. If we did, the most saint-ish among us become bloodbaths. My lineage is as important as yours, but I chose this path, unlike many." He remained calm at Ripper's dismay, even as he stood. It was a graceful move, but one that was obviously slowed so as not to alert his capture. "You may wish to kill me. But, in forewarning, I have been destroyed many times before. I always return, with the help of a fadewalker or two." Had it been anyone else, this might've sounded humorous with a wink, or a challenge, but the way he said it was in the cold stare of truth. "And, those who banish me find themselves wishing they had not. So, you will let me walk out of here, never to trouble you again. Or, I can remain in these walls unharmed. But, if you make an enemy, boy; know that my eyes many always be watching, even if they are not these." He tapped the side of his head three times at the temple, emphasizing his words and awaiting Ripper's next move.

"Choosing the Path or having it decide for the human--those are potato schematics, Padre. You are right, of course, that prior lineage does not matter...and what's further--as in a gesture of goodwill I even request once quite plainly only to speak *at* my Uncle Ned and not inside of this cranium."

"Smart lad. Now, seeing as our hour has nearly left us, dawn will soon be shining. What you do with your time is up to you, but I must be off. Staying where one is not wanted, is rude, is it not?" His question was no doubt rhetorical and seemed somewhat barbed as it left his mouth. He did not want Ripper there and would have had his query if not for the boy. He did not merely slip out the door, however. That would have made him too simple to follow. The vampire instead made a solid leap into the air, hanging on the rafter above and climbed like a spider, up into the dark ceiling and out a broken widow.
He would wait. Rooftops were the worst place to be when the light of God touched Earth, but the Telepath wondered if the male would go find the little one tonight. If not, he could slip in like a snake through the cracks before the Sun rose. But, he would not lose track of his prey that easily.

"Rude is only as rude does--sticks and stones are more engaging." Ripper sidestepped the rhetoric laconically.
"I honestly have no clue nor any greater aspirations towards discerning what is rude among my own kind. However neither yours nor my own preferences is of much import inside this particular locale; although, speaking as one whose forced affability will fade dim with the gleaming, the even more interestingly pertinent question is where you plan on seeking to lay your own head down during imminent torpor?"
The vampire watched the others egress in escape. Although multiple other avenues were openly available to translocate away to, he himself was familiar enough with the immediate area to know for certainly there were no conveniently available hidey hole available nearby with the above ground doors to the Mausoleum chambers remained still tightly sealed to any hopely squatters. The only cover containing avenues of (conventional) escape lay either through the Old Cemetery gate doors to the North or by a particularly fast-paced clip towards the shelterway in which he had propelled KB towards impetus.
"I'll sit on this particular secret a moment while longer." he announced to the now empty rooms of the aging house, as he had been innocuous content to do up until this point now already.

The vampire had not caught the last little tidbit of his sentence. And, as for his sleeping quarters, the old man ignored him. There was no way he'd tell Ripper that. He could spend an hour awake after the beast showed it's glowing head, if he could stay out of the direct light. Simply waiting it out would have been ideal but the sky began to turn pinkish orange and his instincts warned him away from the roof. He could bury himself in the silhouette of the mansion, but he would not be able to follow his target. Then again, if he could not stay up much longer, what would the young one do? Surly not brace the chance of day. Ripper had not known he'd be followed and the fledgling would be hidden, far away in a cubby hole by now. The astute move would be to wait to find Katalina. If Ripper was indeed logical. Taking all this in, the vampire hung himself from the ledge and drifted silently to the ground.

"Climbs upwards to the very top of a long, winding circular staircase that spiraled upwards towards an attic enclosure where a heavily draped over 'moon window' couch was closed over narrowly slanted torrent windows of the small wing enclosure to pull side ways to peel back the heavy folds of curtain that separates the tiny paneled slabs of melted sand which allowed a viewer transparency outside of this room. (no coincidence that he'd chosen the western wing to perch vigil).
The one detour was only a brief pass in through an immaculately pristine yet fully furnished kitchenette unit to pilfer and remove a grape peeler from the row of stainless steel implements which lined across virgin countertops.*

Upon his decent, he clung tight to the wall. The building would block most of the rays, but it was still best to stay as far as possible from them. The dirt was stiff and frosted over, untouched since the early fall rain. The naturally composed vampire couldn't help but curl his lip. It would be obvious where he had hidden by anyone who knew the land. Ripper could shimmy down and uncover him in his sleep. He would have seconds. The creature fought through his gut and left the safety of the shade. Running straight out away from the roof, his skin smoked at the touch. Baring his fangs and gritting his teeth, he dug deep into the earth, covering himself with the clumped dirt before he could set to flame. He would have to wake early. To head off Ripper and find a meal.
