During the day, all vampire pass out completely, right? Soon as that sun rises, they're out. Except those with Daywalker, of course. How does this work for those who get their resting EXP in public places? Like the library, and the clubs - how does one explain all the people sleeping in booths and corners?
I was sure I had an explanation for this ... but now I'm stumped, LOL! Anyone remember me explaining this before?
The simple solution would be to change the wiki saying that vampires go more docile and weaker when the sun is up. But I'd rather figure out why I decided rest EXP was a good idea instead of changing the wiki.
Each path now has a certain type of resting area that will give them an automatic 30 spirit EXP if they are there when the sun sets. I might increase it to 50 eventually.
Shadows gain experience from resting in sewers, where the least light can penetrate (later, caves too).
Necromancers draw power from resting in graveyards or the morgue.
Allurists gain experience from being around as many people as possible, so clubs give them experience (not bars, sorry).
Killers are either anti-social or they need lots of space to practice, so they gain strength by resting in areas marked as "abandoned" or "deserted".
Mystics grow in power the closer the are to the rip between the physical realm and the shadow realm, so any building in the quarantine area will help them draw spirit experience.
Telepaths thrive in places of learning, so go to the library, museum, gallery or net cafes to rest.
This update was made partly on a whim (a 2 AM whim), but partly as an additional incentive for people not to hide in their lairs constantly. Stay cooped up if you want, and hide away, but if you're not resting in the appropriate areas, you're missing out on bonus experience.

Thanks for pulling that up Mircea. I'm still not sure why I'd make vampires fall asleep in the middle of a club though. I mean, either, as an Allurist, they gain experience for being in a social situation, or they need to sleep when the sun rises, so they have to go home.

Aha!
I was going to add Daywalker as a mastery path power, because let's face it, daywalkers in vamp fiction have always been the uber ones. However, when I thought about it I realised that in this game it's not a huge advantage. Staying out of the sun isn't hard, and it's not like being in the sun during sunrise is something anyone has to do, because it's not like you can hide in the wilderness without getting nuked by Fae. The only major advantage is combating teleportation slightly, so I decided to add it now.
The drawbacks of this constant power are that, a) you still lose an extra blood during sunrise if you are caught in the open (you gain no wound), and b) if you're roleplaying being a Daywalker, there will be some MAJOR disadvantages of moving around in the sun from an RP point of view. I'm talking vulnerability, weakness, falling asleep constantly, not being able to use any powers, and being more likely to be IDed as a vamp.
Even still, it makes one feel all warm and uber to have the power. Don't go running into the sun just yet though because I need to test it myself. I'm pretty sure it's fine but I wont know until the sun rises.
So... If a daywalking vampire is
weakened by the sun, but not completely disabled by it, then it stands to reason that regular vampires in their 'strongholds', for lack of a better word, would be similarly weakened, their vampireness quietened, but not forced into sleep. More likely, vampires
choose to sleep in the daytime, because they can
only be effective after sunset, giving rise to the urban legend of them being completely immobile during daylight hours.
Incidentally, you never did implement...
I'm going to add a little something extra to this power. Because Killers are slightly more awake during the sunlight, I think I'll give them a certain amount of energy that gets automatically replenished when the sun sets, to reflect the fact that they were able to move around outisde while the sun was in the sky.

So is that the answer to the question then? Wiki should be changed to say they don't pass out, completely dead, during the day? That they can stay awake should they really want to? Unless I'm completely daft, that up there doesn't answer the question as to why you didn't ask that the wiki be changed?
Do we just assume that, for example, Allurists have that extra ability to be a little more alert during social hours because they get extra experience from being around other people?

The best I can figure from all this is that vampires just don't sleep like humans do. It sounds like they just kinda sleepwalk around on auto-pilot, acting aware of their surroundings, but not really aware, and that Daywalkers are able to force their conscious mind to the forefront a bit, though only with effort.
At least, that's my best interpretation, for whatever it's worth.

3.) Does a Killer's body decay while uninhabited by a spirit?
Yes, but more slowly than normal, which could give a human a certain amount of pause, but wouldn't immediately violate the vampiric secret.
I know this is kind of nitpicking, but why then do wounds heal within the Shadow Realm. For example. Killer A is hunted for bounty, while being killed said killer loses an arm. The week that he is dead his body his decaying... and his arm is growing back?
All this talk about Killer's and their death cycle inspired me... You have kind of revealed that the Killer's body isn't particularly important... but would it still be possible for a dead Mystic to inhabit the waiting shell of a Killer if it returned from the SR before the killer did?

Regarding RP and history, how much of
this is accurate for Necuratism? All? Some? None? Write-a-good-thread-and-we'll-see?
I linked to that specific post because I rather liked that one when I found it, but there are several interesting suggestions in the thread, and it
does make sense that there might be multiple names for the practice over the course of history, as well as multiple tales attached. If a character were to use a word like
Judeccans or
Dask'iya, would they be referring to something, or would they just be making up words?

If a Paladin or a Sorc was turned, do they get to keep all their nifty powers?

Are the areas in the Shadow Realm that resemble certain districts in Harper's Rock a product of the tear pressing up against the real world, or more a projection of the thoughts and feelings of the dead vampires there?
If the first one, would it be possible for for one vampire to sense another as being nearby through the tear?

Pi is about to make her own bloodline and I was thinking about logistics.
In the update it says, creating your own bloodline is merely a Declaration of Independence but logistically, or RP-ing-ly. Is it like a Deed Poll Name Change?
Globally and realistically, they're still a part of the original bloodline but in actuality their 'name' changes? So would you RP it merely as a name change? Or would something be.. mystically or RPingly 'different'?
I mean, how does Pi really change the last name or 'bloodline' of all the vampires sired under her? I'm just curious about how you saw this practically happening in RP.
