Thank you. I should have taken a second look at the wiki page as there is mention of it Sterility on the part of a vampire or human parent will not hinder the creation of a Fadebeast. However, the necessary components for a fade beast to grow are: a mother's womb, a father's DNA. My bad.

So, follow up questions sorry not sorry Josh

...the impregnation and gestation of a fadebeast is not an entirely physical process.
1a - What would it look like in an ultrasound?
1b - Would there be a bump? Is it freakish Twilight-style swelling?
1c - Would a human mother test positive on a pee stick considering the spirit nature of a fadebeast?
2 - When a Fade Beast leaves its mother's womb, it is not full sized, but will be significantly large than one would guess based on the pregnancy, this is due to the spiritual aspect of the Fadebeast. What is a full sized fadebeast as big as? What size would this be? Could it potentially grow as it exists, 'gathering' shadow mass so to speak of? Or would it come all parts 'assembled' from the womb?

I'm gearing up to write a pretty graphic, tragic solo thread, and it will involve an impregnated human dying, and I'm trying to get a better feel as to what I could and couldn't write leading up to and during the actual birthing scene.

back when alex got knocked up I asked a lot of questions that might be helpful for you... they were added into the quicklook post by River Illia below;

Below is a list of questions already asked by the player base and answered by David. Please check the wiki and read through the questions below to see if you can answer your question(s) before posting your own. Thank you!

Vampire Pregnancy:
David also was consulted throughout that thread, if you wanted to take a peek it might be helpful? :) <3

I think this is mostly up to the writer, because fadebeasts vary greatly in appearance. Due to their partially physical form, I think ultrasounds would occasionally work and not work. Meaning sometimes the imaging would show the deformed and monstrous scraps of flesh and bone - whereas other times the imaging might not show anything at all due to obscurity. Depending on the quality of the equipment, someone might even see the fadebeast growing in the womb
1b - Would there be a bump? Is it freakish Twilight-style swelling?
Rapid growth due to the rapid gestation period for the fadebeast.
1c - Would a human mother test positive on a pee stick considering the spirit nature of a fadebeast?
That depends on when they are impregnated, I think. Technically a human mother doesn't need to be ovulating to make a fadebeast, so it's dependent entirely on if the fadebeast being there tricks the mother's body into producing pregnancy hormones or not. Which I would say is up to the writer.

2 - When a Fade Beast leaves its mother's womb, it is not full sized, but will be significantly large than one would guess based on the pregnancy, this is due to the spiritual aspect of the Fadebeast. I'd say that's up to the writer's discretion. I don't want to set too many hard and fast rules for the dimensions of the fadebeast, so that writers have some freedom in that area. They could easily get to be as big as bears, or even larger depending on the type of fadebeast - as those who come from a vampire and vampire union tend to be bigger, stronger, and overall more powerful.

Very good point, the device isn't meant to be useable in the labyrinth or tombs

That's true... I'm guessing that the location is no longer IN the Laby... is perhaps what Josh would say? idk.

I do know that Freya asked Josh beforehand, according to what I was told a few minutes ago in ooc chats. And besides being a dev, he's the game master for the event and if he ruled it could be used, then there must be an explanation.

Yeah, doesn't stop me thinking it isn't an RP relic, being dangerously close to "Pay to Win".

(for context I have one too lol)

as do I. But It never dawned on me to use mine in roleplay, lol. But it was cleared for use in this case, so. With respect? If the conversation needs to be continued? Please start another thread? I'll keep an eye open for it, I promise. ;)
