I'm posting this here so that as many forum users see it as possible.

I need to take a step back from some things, so I'm posting here to announce that I'll be working purely on the game for a while, and not getting involved in ANY drama, mod decisions, harassment reports, or anything like that.

Today I blew up at people from the game, and that's unlike me, so I've realised that I'm letting all the stress of micro-managing an entire MMO while also dealing with a forum full of drama is taking its toll on me. I'll still be working, but it's just time to take a few steps back from anything other than pure coding.

Please post the correct things in the correct forums. DO NOT PM me with bugs, suggestions, or questions. Please! Do not use my Yahoo for game related things AT ALL. Do not PM me harassment reports, they will have to wait, I'm sorry. The mods can deal with most things, except for lair updates or coding related issues.

It is now possible to be seen feeding in security 2 locations once more. However, being seen feeding in one of these locations will not increase your bounty at all, as you are able to escape before you do any serious damage to the city alert level.

However, being spotted feeding in a security 2 location can still alert human PC characters, giving them your identity. This change was made because it's now far too hard for regular, non-magical humans to find vampire identities.

Battle tactics are now doubly effective in every way (both positive and negative).

Just so you all know what to look out for, here's a run down of what each tactical type does...

Firearms
Use cover: Attack more rarely, but have largely increased defence.
Acrobatic gun-play: Less chance to hit, but less chance to be hit if you have good dexterity.
Flank, move between cover: Attack more rarely, but slightly increased chance to both counter and crit.
Bold, run-'n-gun style: Attack lots more, but get hit lots more.
Wait for the kill-shot: Attack slightly less, but increased chance to crit.

Melee
Buy time (strong defence): Attack more rarely, but have largely increased defence.
Quick, dexterious strikes: Less chance to hit, but less chance to be hit if you have good dexterity.
Counter attack: Attack more rarely, but slightly increased chance to both counter and crit.
Ferocious frenzy attacks: Attack lots more, but get hit lots more.
Attempt to cripple: More chance to hit, less chance to crit.

The level of offence (extremely aggressive, etc) has also been doubled in its effect. It will change how often you attack, but will sap your battle weariness faster if you set it to attack lots.

"When all else fails..." still does nothing for now.

Veil Tower now has apartment floors, which will auto-spawn as the building fills up. The price is the standard 50,000 in-game coins, or 30 karma. You can purchase these via the real estate page.

Veil Tower also has a fair number of stores still available to purchase. Although Blake owns the building, he earns no money from property sales, and any shops you buy in this area will be your own, so don't worry.

Veil Tower is at 22, 30, world. Let me know if you have any problems.

Powers are now capped at 45 maximum total owned powers. You can still gain PXP but you can't buy more powers for now.

As the powers stood, it was possible to gain every single one of the existing 90 powers within 2.5 years, which will be the middle of next year. That's far too soon to gain every single power in the game, and I'm not sure I even want that to be possible at all. Right now there are about 14 people who have 45 or more powers (one of you has 60 powers already, which is equivalent to 4 of the 6 paths and 4 of the bridges).

So those of you with 45 or more powers will have to wait until mastery powers (and the middle row of powers for each path) are made before gaining any more, at which point there may be different restrictions on how many total powers you can gain, or how hard it is to gain them.

The grand total available powers will eventually be around 150-210 for vampires, even though PXP will be easier to get once beta ends. However, mastery powers might be restricted to those born of that path -- I haven't decided yet.

Don't worry, you'll all be given a free re-power when beta ends, and your PXP should be at a point by then that you'll be able to keep the powers you already have, if you want to.

Thumbnails of your character can now be added via the settings page. These thumbnails are 150 x 150 pixels and will display in various locations eventually. For now they will show up on the imminent businesses page, on the employees section.

The more of you that make thumbnails for your characters the better, as it will make various sections of the site look better if people don't all have the default image as their thumbnail.

Also, you might have already noticed that the business skill has appeared on the character sheet section (also on the level up screen). You are advised, however, to hold off on restating your characters until the business system is completely finished, as the update post will give you a better idea of what you can earn from businesses, and how.

I'll be away for 4 or 5 days starting tomorrow. Sorry to anyone who is waiting on anything. PM me anyway, and I'll sort it out when I get back.

If something major comes out (and I mean MAJOR), contact Nicola (Lelantos) and she will tell me. The admins and mods can probably help with some things though.

Just a tiny little update: business net worth is now calculated in a way which should make a little more sense.

Added a line to the forum rules, section 1 (rudeness):

"Roleplayers: please do not comment in-character about people's spelling or grammar as these are often OOC mistakes. Not everyone speaks English as their first language, and some people suffer from real-life learning disabilities."
