I mean I get 1 percent a kill, over 500ish rpp. Guess I know what I'll do.
It's not 1 percent per kill. You have to kill 12.5 lionellis or supersoldiers to get 1%.
Yeah I miss miscalculated. .1 percent per kill. But I can only exchange 500 rpp a day. Which gives me little return. I'm a writer, so for me it's wte, but most people see points or percent vs effort.

But, I'm obviously going against the grain, so I'll just keep to myself and dwindle down on the writing effort since it'll all be done in a week anyways and ya know...a career, dr appointments for my current pregnancy and mommy duty at night kinda leaves me with limited path time these days anyways.
It might be over in a week, but we'll have a new chapter very shortly after.

0.08 per kill, if you can kill the hardest enemies, which hardly anyone can.
You're right that RP needs to have more of an effect in this chapter. I won't slow things down, but I'll speed up the effect that RPing has. If you can get a post or two in today you might be able to have a big effect. Stay tuned on that.
As far as 500 rpp per day, that's not true. You could use your character's energy, as RPP conversions are now by far the best way of gaining levels.

It was not anticipated at all. We started out slowly, by the end of 2 days it had moved 1.2%, so I figured that wasn't fair on the "against" crowd, as I thought they'd never stand a chance if they were only moving less than 1% each day.
It's all on me for not anticipating that a lot of players would return or get invested, and that it would be AS one sided as this. It thought it would be one sided, but not this much.
Lesson learned, and I'm to blame for miscalculating. Next time I'll make it so that the chapter can't end before the 2 months are up.

However, there is a proverb: ‘you don't change horses mid-stream’, meaning “you do not make major changes to a situation or course of action that is already underway.” Why? Because it typically makes things worse.
During this event I have seen several players that I have not seen in ages, return to play the grid. So obviously this is a fun event from the grid side. Players, that have been absent, are back, invigorated and playing.
My suggestion, let this play out on grid..
Meanwhile,
David codes a second event - RP heavy in order to move the story on.
Basically, the Humans set a trap (the current event), they leaked the info about a cure, because the Humans needs to see how many vampires they were up against..THey knew they vampires would attack. They weren't wrong. NOW the humans have an idea of their enemies strengths.
This time..No grid action, until all pieces of the puzzle are fitted together RP wise.
For a month or so, new clues are slowly found via hacking. (Hacking should count toward this event)
The only way for the hacking info to get out, is via Role Play. Players have a month to set up their plans via rp.. I expect the Grid to be harder this next time.. When the last clue is eventually found.
That’s my suggestion.. To keep the play on go as it is.. But salvage it for RP.
It's a solid plan, and the general way of setting it up sounds cool. I have to go with the consequences to the ending of the chapter that make sense, though. Don't want to give too much away. Also, the chapter surrounding the sirens and the labyrinth is still planned, so it's a lot to fit in.
Unfortunately, setting up the chapters takes quite a long time. And in between all the bug fixing, lair building, new updates, and fulfilling other demands people have had for a long time.
Making a chapter 100% roleplay-based would mean those chapters come a lot faster, but I can see that would cause a lot of people to complain or leave also, so it's something we'll have to ponder over carefully.
Still, I agree that things like info regarding the chapter issue at hand should be leaked slowly over a few weeks leading up to the chapter. It gives people a chance to roleplay beforehand, and I like that.

Maybe chapters need to rolled out in sections. Rp set up.. for a few weeks.. then the Grid roll out. Make it like a scavenger hunt for clues that can only be found by hacking.. information only gets to players by rping.. then after a designated period of time.. Grid opens up when a vital clue is found during a hack.
I think next time we need to make it so that the chapter cannot end early, to give people a chance to RP. The ending point of the slider on the end of the 2 months would be the decider, rather than it ending early. It's very hard to balance these chapters in a way that's fair not only to all parties on opposite sides, but also to roleplayers and to grid players.
But yeah I do like this idea.
I think that would be awesome =D
Like I don't think anyone could have predicted how hard the 'against' side was going to hit the NPCs, compound, and slider. I think if subsequent chapters are rolled out in waves, or set up so that RP has to be done at key junctures to compete the chapter, that would really have a major impact on how these chapters are played.
Like if there was a necessary roleplay component and a necessary grid component, both of which entail some sort of competition.
ANYWAY. I am really happy with how this discussion is going, and I'm happy the energy (and motivation) is on finding long term solutions. <3!

You'll now influence the slider by 0.8% (not .08%) per 500 words of roleplay. This is to encourage some potentially last-minute roleplay, and give roleplayers a chance to feel like they've had an impact on things.

Which is great but what if its over by the time I clock out and can actually write. I had so many ideas for this chapters and their simply never gonna see the time of day now cause I dont have enough time to actually put pen to paper

Yeah, I'm actively writing this chapter, myself. Unfortunately due to having to work quite a bit and now deal with a third hurricane evacuation, I may run into some trouble and I feel like all the effort I'm going to be putting into words won't make as significant impact as what I do on grid - and I've got a few playing on both sides.
