Robin had not expected an answer; he did not seriously think that Maddison wanted to get her hands down his pants. It amused him that she felt the need to clarify that it hadn’t been the case. Rolling his eyes, he lay back down and pulled the blankets up over his head, tugging one of the pillows down so he could curl around it. It was his own little cocoon of darkness.

”Because your body needs the blood. Blood is the be all and end all. It is what will nourish you. Your body is starved for it – will be, if you ignore the thirst. Water? Isn’t harmful, Maddison. Jesus. Don’t be melodramatic. I said yet. You can’t drink it yet, but given time and practice you can, again,” he said, voice muffled by the blankets. Bed, sleep, sounded like a great idea. Though this conversation, this situation, and this woman would all be there when he woke up.

Maybe he’d be better rested. Maybe during the day he’d dream up solutions and grow some nice, rough confidence. Or maybe he’d just keep stumbling through – it had worked well enough thus far. Debts had been paid off, tax collectors were off his ***. He’d managed to scrape in and duck under the radar at just the right time. Like everything in his life, regardless of how much of a bumbling fool that he was, everything seemed to fall into place. Sooner or later, something was going to go wrong, and he wouldn’t be able to charm his way out of it. Maybe this was it.

The sun was coming up. Robin could feel it, the way the lethargy stole over his limbs.

”Sleep, now. You can try drink some water in the morn… tomorrow night,” he said, voice relaxed and slurred. He liked this bit. He liked the way his whole body relaxed, half awake and half asleep. Like all his worries just slipped away.

Maddison grunted a little when he scolded her. How was she supposed to know that water wasn't harmful? He had just told her that she would throw it back up. The blonde scowled and gave up, moving herself under the covers. She was tired. It had been a super long night. The blonde had been through a lot. She sighed softly and then placed her head on the pillows.

"Calm yourself." She muttered from under the blankets. She was sure he could hear her with his super vampire hearing.

After a moment, the blonde stretched her limbs and a small moan sound left her. She was now ready to slip off into sleep land. She felt the sleep set into her bones, becoming lethargic. "Goodnight, Robin." She muttered half-heartedly as she started to slip out of consciousness. She would sleep for a while, hopefully pleasant dreams over took her. There was a twinkling of hope that when she woke it would have all been just a dream.

But Maddison wouldn't be that lucky. This was real and these two were just going to have to deal with one another.
