I think this has potentials. Perhaps not something we would know at once, but perhaps the fae decided to remind the vamps they can still do some heavy damage if of the mind to. In anything like this there would be casualties so who is to say some lesser or rogues were killed off in the process?Xian wrote:I know it started out as a joke (the Fae did it) and I mentioned it my post more as Metaphor, but the more I look at it, from a supernatural standpoint, and a storytelling standpoint, it IS possible that the Fae did it.
So many ideas can come from it - Fae attacking while the floodwaters (which may inexplicably even be Warm) are surging, specially in the areas where the city comes into contact with the wilderness. Like the river area, the edges of the city... and heck, anywhere the possibly supernaturally brought about flooding is passing. XD
But yeah, we can just go run with it. :)

Aye, from what I've read of them (and my own preconceived notions) that sounds like just about the right kind of mischief. Though, what is their stand on humans? I would think they don't really care about them either way - collateral damage. Or the murk where the vampires rise up from. Idk, not sure I've read anything on it.Zodiac wrote:I think this has potentials. As for actual vampire casualties... ooh. Suddenly got me thinking what if this was all some elaborate thing to kill just -one- significant vampire? Who that would/could be, idk either.
Or just general "we can do this when/if we want to" like you said.
But yeah, a sprinkling of clues here and there maybe, then maybe a big finish of some sort - maybe that giant beneath the earth! XD lol FAEZILLA!
So much to play with, even if we just kept it to the blizzard/storm and the earthquake. Heck, could even be played as some vampires get paranoid about the fae, seeing fae where there are none!

Re: Black Thursday Q&A
David already posted somewhere that the water is/should be fae infested? I think he mentioned that.
I'd imagine that somewhat gives us free reign to include them at least observationally in our threads.
My only hesitation is in stating outright what may or may not have caused the weather/earthquake as that's more up to David I'd wager, as the storyteller (though if he were to agree, I think that would be awesome plot-wise).

Though I think "fae-infested" could be an easy description for the waters around Harper Rock at any time.Mooncalf wrote:Which gives people enough time to need to find shelter from sudden flood waters after the earthquake, I guess. :) Not much fun being frozen in fae-infested waters, which have swept you down main street, past all the electrical wiring snaking out all over the streets, lol. If the waters freeze during the course of the roleplay (which they might), then that's another reason to maybe not want to venture out into it right away.Doc wrote:And as long as the water is moving.. its not freezing that fast, only after it starts to slow..
And I do agree, David, of course should have final say about something big like a giant FaeZilla - the image just popped into my mind and I had to share XD - and about the root cause of anything. but our characters can go into wild speculation, and who's to say there wouldn't be at least some Fae who'd take advantage of a natural disaster of this magnitude?
Lots of ways to go. Excited to see what all the groups come up with.

On unrelated note to all the weather comments... I still don't have answer to my question about Temporal Disruption...

Re: Black Thursday Q&A
When I originally suggested Temporal Disruption as a curse, I envisioned the person essentially not existing for the space of time during which they aren't there. Like a blackout, or when a person loses time.
But I've seen it paired, for example, with fadewalking so that when a person goes out of sync, they see the shadow realm instead. IIRC, that got approved by David, so I imagine it's however you want to play it, so long as it makes sense to canon?
If you want to be absolutely sure (and so this thread doesn't go too far off topic), you may want to ask in the canon Q&A thread.

Re: Black Thursday Q&A
If memory serves, the fae have withdrawn to a degree from humanity due to human progress destroying nature and the Earth. The fae are tied into that concept, so while a average human is not as repulsive as a vampire humans represent a collective threat to them, so in something like this yes I could see human losses as acceptable if indeed it is some fae plot to remind everyone who is boss.Xian wrote:

I like the idea that this is all aimed at a single vampire, but who would be worth that kind of attention? Perhaps the one holding the strings of the thrall currently in public office?

No comment on the cause of the storms and quakes. ;) But yeah, I couldn't blame characters for assuming something supernatural is at work here.
