Snarling with rage, Corwin pressed forward, pressuring his opponent with a series of brutal and reckless assaults.
But the attack was short, and merely scratched the target.

The power spread outwards in a blue wave. The undead creature recoiled as the blood in his viens dried up.

But the attack was ponderous and easily avoidable.

Lyonel attempted to throw Corwin into a wall, but Corwin rolled with the lunge and tumbled mere feet.
Corwin was a whirlwind of nimble strikes as he twisted his weapon around him.

Cartwheeling sideways with just one hand on the ground, Mordechai unleashed a spread of bullets at Phoenix.
Phoenix ducked low, narrowly avoiding the storm of bullets.

Wailing, it flew at its target, pulverizing Mordechai into the floor.

The insects swarmed over their target, biting, slashing and sucking blood.

Still hiding behind cover, Phoenix reached around the edge of it with her gun and fired a series of blind shots in the general direction of her enemy.
The bullets rained down on Mordechai just as he lept up onto a wall and moved along it, descending just in time for Phoenix's ammo clip to click empty.

Round 1 or round 21, same deal. Just gives others more of a 'chance' to get to a higher round. LOL

Not really. I just think it'd be a good idea to assign sides based on level. Sort entrants from highest to lowest, then divide odd numbers onto one side, evens on the other, and then sort them into pairs. That's generally how brackets are determined when there's two 'sides'.

That's called "seeding", and yes it is common practice. But it gives the bigger players an easier ride, so I feel like random is more fair. Less predictable.
