Maria chuckled as he admitted to having drunk before he even had run into her. Yeah, only so much alcohol for a normal person. He did explain that some vampires could be effected, she wandered how that worked. Not that either of them actually would understand it, as far as she was aware, most vampires weren't doctors. Maybe? She wasn't actually sure, but even if they were, would they be able to explain the digestive system of someone who's dead?

She pulled out her phone as he did and brought her number up for him to read while he continued to speak. "Sure would! Feels really expensive, but if I can make money off it then I might be on a good track. Just not sure quite what type of business you do off yachts aside from just trips. Maybe semi rich people like a little fancy quiet time or something. I'll look it up." she again was just a little distracted on the idea of getting a yacht, it almost sounded manageable to her, but it felt like it might take awhile both to get it and to keep it.

Another chuckle as he mentioned being a stowaway so they could get him out of the city. "Well that's one way of doing it! Worse comes to worse you could hide underneath the boat. Doubt anyone would expect you there." She got the text and gave a quick response, *Sounds like a plan! :) *

She looked up and held up her arms as if in triumph, "Dun duh duh! Said it before, but this was not at all how I expected today to go! Glad it did though!"

Complete faith was held in the idea of Maria getting a yacht. Marty took her for a woman of determination. That once her mind was set out to do something, she did not give up until her goal was achieved. Likely a yacht made several business opportunities available. Thinking back to the times he had been invited aboard such, for parties; or rich friends simply wanting to show off. Many were fond of fishing and preferred to do so in style, the possibilities were many. With her comment on hiding under the boat, he could not help but laugh nervously. Feeling the idea was possible, but hesitant with thoughts of all the ways that could go wrong. Marty often had a streak of bad luck with most situations, so it was hard not to think of the down sides.

As her text came through, he would give it a read before happily tucking the device away. Surprised then by her joyous reaction, he took in her words and could not have said it better himself. " Yes! Tonight definitely held its share of surprises. I really had a wonderful time. Though I will think twice now before throwing anything into the river." His tone joking, in reference to the severed head that started a chain of events. The time they had for now was comming to a close, and he though best on how to leave things. Should I offer to walk her home? He wondered, but brushed this off as it might come off a little weird. This was not a date, just hanging out with a new friend. Marty never walked Cato home after hanging out. Though Cato sometimes did walk Marty home, mostly to make sure he actually made it. This being on nights where he indulged a little too much, and was likely to find trouble if sent out on his own.

His mind drifted to the idea of dancing, and the possible places they could go. He planned on asking around about the best places in town. His usual hang outs sometimes involved dancing, but a good selection at the bar was always the number one priority, when he and Cato hung out. He realized it was time for him to go, but that didn't mean she had to. It's not like the sun bothered her, or at least this is what he assumed. " I should be going though. Were you going to hang around here a little longer? Or I could walk you out? " Interest held with the thought of even the slightest amount of more time with her. In his pocket, his phone would sound. Likely Cato, worried, as he had not heard from Marty. The man could be annoying at times, like when he stole his clothes earlier, but it was nice to know someone was looking out for him.

So a plan was set, a long term plan sure, but a plan nevertheless. One day, a yacht. That would be interesting to say the least. She had a lot of details to iron out but hey, that was how it worked for any aspect in life. And in Harper Rock you had to work around things to make anything fit really.

She put her hands together and nodded with his smile as he mentioned thinking twice about what he did with the river, jokingly, but quietly, saying, "The water life is appreciative of that." with a smile. Joke though it may be, she certainly wanted to avoid sudden face to faces with skulls anytime soon.

He mentioned leaving and she nodded again at his question, "Probably best if I head out yeah. Never know if I have emails waiting for me to read...or more likely emails to be sent, or planned to sent. Or research to do...blegh." she responded, though still smiling in spite of the work she might have to actually get to. That was just the way of life though.

Marty knew something had to be done about the state of the river. Though he didn't regret for a moment how things worked out. Maria was amazing, her company enjoyable. She had even gotten him to go for a swim, it had been the most interesting night. " Sure sounds like you keep busy. Would love to read some of your work. Feel free to text some links my way. And if you ever need help with some research, I wouldn't mind helping out. My reporting days were not all that long ago." Spoken with a smile, as he walked out with her when the time came.

"I am reminded that I need to think of a good way to get back at my roommate. Cato played a nasty trick on me. I had to tome into an area where my sire may or may not have been sleeping. Hope the place doesn't have cameras. People might have questions." Laughing at this. If seen he would say he had been drinking. No need to elaborate. Play it off as his typical bad luck. It was true after all, Marty would just leave out a few things. Before the two parted ways, he said one last thing. "Maria, it was lovely to have met you. Again you have my word, I will tell none of your secret." Once Marty was on his way, he stopped by a liquor store, and this was the last thing he remembered before waking up almost 24hr later.

-----------------

"He's alive!" Marty winced, hearing the man's loud voice. "Please, not so loud…My head hurts…." Spoken as he sat up, realizing he was in the bathtub. Without water and fully clothed, thankfully. " What happened? What day is it? Why am I in the bathtub?" Looking at Cato, who stood leaded against the door frame; eating a bowl of cereal.

"Well, I take it the night before last, you met someone named Maria?" Shared before taking another bite. He seemed to be interested to know more about who Maria was. Marty felt relieved to know perhaps he had not blabbed about the woman. "What makes you think that?" With his question, Cato pulled out his phone, showing him a most embarrassing video.

"You went all West side story on me! It was hilarious!" Laughing, as he played it over a couple times. "Turn it off! But why am I in the tub?" Doing his best to change the subject. Not that him singing show tunes was anything new. "When I left for work, you were on the couch. Were like this when I got back. Looked comfortable, so I just left you. My guess is you missed work. Hope you don't get fired." Marty didn't look too concerned about his job. Lions seemed the understanding type.

"What else happened that night? Did I just come home and pass out on the couch?"Asked, unsure if he really wanted to know. "It goes without mention you were wasted when you got home. We watched a movie, I am legend. Thought you had seen it before. You just kept saying they're vampires. One part thought you were going to cry. You passed out on the couch before it was over." From the tone of his voice, Marty knew Cato wasn't making it up. As he pulled himself out of the tub, he said only one thing. "We speak of this to none.
