He sighed with a quick, but deep frown that graced his lips. "Yeah, quite painful. Think of a sunburn and a road burn together." His jaw set slightly as he thought of it, a shudder running up his spine. It's not pleasant, and even thinking of it made him uncomfortable. He shifted in his seat for a moment, letting the silence flow between then in the air.
"No, I didn't try much. I just swam and watched her enjoy herself. I took her there so she would relax for once, and be happy. Seeing as, well, I can't do that that much." His voice faded into a quiet whisper, biting his bottom lip. "Surprisingly I didn't do anything much except enjoy the warmth, sun, and water. As well as my favorite scenery. I've visited there many times before for business, another of my favorite countries to visit." He looked back at her, flashing a crooked grin.
She didn't remark on his statement about getting sunburned, she really was trying for lighter conversation. When he talked about Australia, she grinned again, pushing a lock of hair from her eyes.
"I miss it some times. Maybe I'll go back some day." She heard her phone chime and managed to dig it from her bag with a soft sigh. It was time for her to head to work. She slid off her bar stool with an apologetic smile.
I've got to run. But if you need any thing, Ali has my number. Call me any time." Her hand came to rest on his forearm and she gave a gentle squeeze before pulling away. She lay a few bills on the counter, for the coffee and a tip before giving him one last smile. Adjusting the strap of her satchel, she headed towards the door. On her way, she passed a gentleman hunting for... something in his pocket.
"Good evening!" was all she said before heading out in a swirl of white hair and black skirts, the door swining closed behind her.

He sat up a bit more straight as he watched her quietly with a nod. "That's not a problem, Dhara. It was a pleasure, really, to meet you." He offered a gentle smile in her direction. He watched as she left, almost in a protective manner. Sure she may be able to take care of herself, but he was always a protective one, especially to someone who Aliyah knew or were close to.
He was there left alone to sit. Should he head home or just stay? He didn't know what to do, going home seemed a bit unwelcoming, seeing as Aliyah has been quiet and distant for some time. He also needed to get away from work that was crowding him and keeping him occupied due to his fair trading company. He rested his chin on his palm and sat there quietly, taking his phone to scan through all the emails and messages he would receive.

It was a stumble that brought Myk through the doors of Lancaster’s bar; these damn heels were a nightmare to walk in. There wasn’t a lot that could be done though. The shoes had to be worn in and a lesson had to be learned – the hard way – about not buying shoes from the internet. Or, at least about kidding yourself that you can fit into a smaller size; Myk’s feet might have been small and delicate, but they weren’t that small and delicate. So the Vampire had leant against a wall, seeking a solid surface, but had in fact found an inward swinging door. The sound of shoes skidding followed by a loud, girlish wail and then a sudden thud could be heard throughout the bar. The black playsuit-wearing damsel had performed an amazing pirouette before slamming into the ground, pale bare knees and hands breaking the fall just barely. Long, sleek hair the colour of bones covered Myk like a veil and a sound – somewhere between a groan and a sob – escaped red lips. It would have been wise to get up, but the pain encapsulating both knees and both palms was a little too much for the Telepath to bear all at once and certainly wasn’t an incentive to move. Pewter eyes sulked behind fluttering eyelashes and Myk stubbornly glared at the black stilettos with the titanium heels as if they were completely at fault.

Tired of sitting at home and surfing the web, Naida made herself get out. Now, here she was...out. Now what? She had hopped off the bus and walked a block, following the directions that she got perfectly. Still, she looked around as if she had no clue where she was. It was all new to her. This building, that car, those people - everything seemed new. Standing on the curb she watched a few couples, singles and small groups stroll down the street and enter the nearby buildings. Finally, she followed suit and entered her chosen building - a bar. That's where people go to meet other people, right?
Bracing herself, she turned the knob and went in. Immediately, her senses were hit with smells food and drink and the buzzing of conversation and the sounds of live music. She took a deep breathe and continued inside, only to stumble over (or maybe almost step on) someone. She steadied herself. She bent over and offered a hand to Myk to help her up, "I'm so sorry! I was *not* paying attention!" She forced an awkward smile, "Are you OK?"

Cori saw the patron fall from all the way across the bar. Even though it was her first night of work, she left her post and headed to the back to acquire some ice. It surely was a hard fall… as Cori approached, she noticed another patron already there. Matters not, she had a job to do and customer service is paramount. “I gathered you some ice, it may help the pain that comes with a fall like that.” Cori looked at the shoes that the patron was wearing… heels, always the culprit in the majority of accidents. “Those are some kicking heels you got.” Cori pulled a chair over so that the white haired patron could sit and apply the ice, if they chose. “My name is Cori, if you need any other assist, please just give me a holler.”

So the shoes weren’t to blame, that much was obvious, but that didn’t prevent Myk from pretending that they were. After all, it was so much easier to blame an inanimate object for your failings than to admit your mistakes – the shoes couldn’t answer back either, which was always a plus. Myk sighed and stretched both slender arms out, long nails scratching at the floor as the Telepath attempted to resolve the imbalance and stand again. As it happened, the door opened once more and another patron became the victim of Myk’s high heels. She stumbled over the unassuming Vampire, avoiding a fall by the skin of her teeth or so it seemed, but Myk was more concerned with the sudden swelling of pain in the one ankle. Myk scowled, beautiful features turning harsh under the shallow light, but those features soon turned beautiful again when Myk’s chin rose and pewter eyes took in the woman offering a hand and apologising.
“It’s fine,” he groaned. “I’m fine.”
However successful his feminine performance might have been before, it shattered immediately when the low, purring quality of his voice broke the air. Myk petted the young woman’s arm once he was up on his feet, grateful for her assistance even if she had sort of stepped on him. His 5’10” frame was now hulking in those five inch stiletto heels, so he felt like a giant beside her, holding her arm delicately because rabbits do not support giraffes. When the member of staff came over, presenting a bag of ice, Myk accepted it with a humble bow, shying away even. All this fuss for his clumsiness? It was almost horrifying. He felt obliged to sit too when she held out a chair, smiling nervously the whole time and nodding respectively. When she introduced herself, Myk’s grin turned a tad more genuine and warm.
“Myk,” he offered in return. “Thanks for the ice, Cori… but… I rather prefer it in a drink.”

Cori knew from past experience, that any fall in heels that high could do some damage. She recalled, in that moment, the night she fell down an entire flight of stairs in a new pair Choo's that she had spent an entire paycheck on. She surely was not as graceful as the woman that was now seated in front of her.
What women go through to look more appealing to, whomever it is the are choosing to attract, has always caused Cori to ponder. She hs seen women come into this bar that looked as if they just had a run in with box of Crayolas. Some, looked as if they were wearing clothes that were surely meant for a Barbie doll, three sizes smaller. The expectation that women have tolook a certain way or be dressed in certain attire, to be considered attractive to a mate, is another plight of humanity. Cori had always liked nice things, but never bought tem for another. She never dressed to please, she dressed for a purpose. A quick thought of lipgloss enters her mind... the night that she had adorned it for her first hunt with Trahir. The grimace on his face and his order to remove it...now, made Cori laugh.
" I can get you drink, what is your poison?" Cori never quite understood that saying, who would take poison willingly?

“After that fall? Something strong…” he said, layering on a thick French accent. “Please, and thank you.”
Truth be told, the Telepath wasn’t all that fussy with his alcohol. Why should he be? Even as a Human it wasn’t the taste that kept him liquored up, it was the dreamy after effects. Myk had always been an escape artist, whether through music, imagination or intoxication. That much hadn’t changed since his turning, but while it seemed all his senses had been heighted to gargantuan degrees, his sense of taste had ironically dwindled. Food and drink was tasteless now, but at least he could still enjoy the scent, the texture, and in this particular case, the intoxication.
Whether the woman chose to leave right away and fetch that something strong or not, Myk’s attention drifted. He focused on analysing any damage sustained in the fall. His ankle was hurting, but then so were his knees, his elbows and hands from breaking the fall. Myk tugged up the boot-cut trouser leg to get a better look at that ankle first, then maybe the knees since he felt like he’d been doused in acid. Milk-white skin blushed rose and lilac around the points of impact and Myk loosed a sigh. This wouldn’t do, he would definitely get a big welt or a bruise now…

Cori lingered for but a moment, taking the time to look the silver haired one over. The fall did more damage than she had thought... Cori had been shot hundreds of times, she had endured massive wounds all over her torso...damn cops. Why does this one suffer so much pain? It is not like any wound would linger for too long, it was just a matter of dealing with it until it was gone. At least that is what she was told..basically to suck it up, you are a vampire. Thinking it best not to open her mouth and reiterate what was spoken top her, Cori left for the bar.
Something strong, what would be appropriate for this instance. Cori knew exactly what she would bring to the patron, and it was located at the far end of the bar. She got out two shot glasses, chilled from the small cooler beneath the bar. It is best to offer choices, being one will always be the correct one. In the shot glass she poured Absinthe, Cori had picked up on his French accent and thought that this was something that he may enjoy. The french drank so much of this flowery liquid and she always wondered why. Cori next poured a shot of Bruichladdich X4, highly potent whiskey that had a funny story behind it. The Scottish always seemed to have stories attached to their malts.
In 1695 Martin Martin, a Hebridean traveller spoke of an ancient powerful spirit, which translates from the Gaelic as “perilous whisky”. He was told by the locals: “one sip and you live forever; two sips and you go blind; three sips and you expire on the spot”.
Cori thought that either of these would fit the expectation of the " Fallen One". It was her job, of course to provide superior customer service, but it also allowed Cori to get a tad closer to the white haired being that sat examining his ankle. Cori was all about intel and knowledge, an acquiring such.
Cori headed back to where she had left her and placed both shots upon the table. " These are on me, probably best you choose one and not shoot both. We may need to take a trip to the hospital if you mix them." Cori smiled, still not sure if this one was human or like her... she needed more information and more time.

Pewter eyes trailed lazily up the calf muscle to where his knee was throbbing, red marks staining his skin like he’d been attacked. As much as Myk may have wanted to pretend that it was somehow the floor’s fault too, it was beyond foolish to suggest that the floor was somehow malicious and had risen up to attack him. Even worse was the idea that his heels and the floor were somehow in cahoots, each one with a devastating plan to trip him and make him look like an idiot. Not that things had even happened that way, but Myk had trouble remembering things for what they were. Distinguishing between fantasy and reality was not always so easy, not least of all when your reality was considered fictitious!
Vampires were not real and yet he was one. Zombies were the stuff of horror movies and yet he fought them. Fairies were just folk stories and yet they hunted him. Myk sighed once more, tugging down the trouser leg and determined not to give it a second thought. The two containers of alcohol that Cori brought him would hopefully assist in that matter, and even though he hadn’t been fussy about the contents, Myk hesitated to take either glass immediately. It was her explanation that made him falter and even raise a brow.
“Why?” he asked her. “Will they create a violent chemical reaction when they mix?”
