Myk wrote:I have a question on acquiring a Character Slot.

If you can only purchase Karma via IG Cash (your character's cash), are you welcome to distribute the Karma purchases throughout your character accounts?

For example, can I buy 10 Karma through Myk via his IG cash and then 10 Karma via Levi DAmico's (my alt) IG cash and then the last 10 Karma via Hunter (another of my alts) bought via IG cash?

I know we are allowed to group Karma for the Character Slots, but does that count for Karma bought via IG Cash?
This is a mechanics question. I'd suggest posing it to David via PM since it relates to Karma.

Assuming it's still something you want to know. I'm tackling these from David's last post.

Or would they see what the target thinks they see in the rp?
They would see the physical location. Hallucinations may impact the target character's perception of reality, but that wouldn't 'impact the hardware' so to speak.

So wouldn't the vampires that were around earlier for the time of the original postings be able to remember that name and cross-match it (identity) from the original writer?

They might have an idea of who someone is, but I doubt they'd be completely sure. Even if someone comes out and says 'Hey, I'm Azreath.' there's always the possibility, it's someone trolling, or trying to make the character look bad. Older characters, who have been posting regularly would have a better idea of who each other are. Really, the anonymity mainly protects A) People who have always been anonymous B) New characters, who don't have the exposure that older characters do.

So that's a tentative yes. Just use good sense and realize that there is no 'proof', when it applies to CrowNet.

Levi DAmico wrote:Is there any lore on the Blood Packs we buy in the Shops?

I'd like to know where they come from and if we could potentially produce some RP opportunities about this.

Levi is quite experienced with trafficking and I could see him broadening his enterprise into the Blood Pack market. To do that, I'd need more information about what is possible.

I can't see it being out of the realm of possibilities that an Impact Thread might stem from it if enough assistance was provided from the staff.

Cheers in advance.
This one is probably going to need David's input because afaik, he's still the one who addresses impact threads.

However, the shops are basically black markets. I mean they sell firearms in Canada, and blood and...yeah. All sorts of things that are kind of back alley. I would assume, for that reason, that the blood packs come from whoever is willing to sell blood to make a profit. It would make sense to me that someone could play a blood supplier for a shop.

If you wanted to poke me with some ideas, feel free. I can help structure plotlines, etc et.

Telekinetic Shield

I don’t really understand this description. <.<

In RP, the power only lasts for a few seconds?
No. The power appears visibly for a couple of seconds and then dissipates into the air. I. E. Becomes invisible. It is invisible until hit, at which point it becomes visible again.
Does the shield know the difference between good contact and bad contact so it only repels the bad kind of contact, i.e. an attack?
I would assume it knows the difference. Since the shield itself is telekinetic, I would imagine that it can recognize if there's a legit attack incoming or if it's a playful bop etc etc.

I always thought Telekinetic Shield was like electroreception.

The Telepath casts an invisible dome around themselves (and others), like generating a field of energy in the immediate area. When something comes into that invisible dome of energy, the Telepaths can feel it. This would provide them with an “in-sight” to incoming attacks, helping them to dodge if needed and even counter-attack. Effectively, it increases their dexterity, their ability to dodge as it says so on the grid.

How far off base am I with my assumptions? LOL
It's less about dodging and more about deflection. From an RP perspective, it might be akin to forcing a bullet off of its desired course, or giving a person's fist something to bounce off of when they go to punch the shielded person. A little bit less obvious than that, because there are going to be some attacks that get through.

But from an IC perspective, the idea isn't an increase in dodge ability. The bumping of dexterity is just a way to create the desired effect on grid without massively OPing the ability.

That being said, I really like your explanation for it?

@ The discussion pertaining to poisoning the blood supply:

Just bear in mind that blood packs have to be consumed pretty soon after they're purchased. Blood doesn't tend to hold well unless preserved, and it's already outside of a living host (which I imagine would make it somewhat undesirable, but maybe that's just me). So most vampires are going to quench their thirst at the shop, so most things that could potentially poison vampires would also likely be filtered out shortly after the first couple of bloods have been sold, and the supplier likely blacklisted, etc etc.

Just keep realism in mind when coming up with plot ideas is all I'm saying. <3 Do not want to discourage anything at all!

Bear in mind, I'm new to the storyteller position, so if an answer seems off, David reserves the right (it is his game obvs), to correct something I've said.

Adelita wrote:Is it possible from an rp perspective for a vampire to enthrall a human of a supernatural class?
I'd say not? I mean I am not the kind of person who believes in outright rejecting a premise, because under the right circumstances, a lot of things seem possible. However, most classed humans are significantly stronger than their pure human counterparts. In the case of the paladins, they actually become immortal (or appear to), and they get their power from tattoos all over their body. Paladins even weaken nearby vampires. So it doesn't make a lot of sense for me for Paladins, and by extension sorcerers to be enthralled. For all of the classed humans, the common theme is that they are survivors. It takes a lot of willpower and determination to live through the process of becoming a Paladin, Blood Thief, or Sorcerer. I think it would be extremely unlikely

But yet a pathed class can enthrall a vampire. Who supposedly has higher wp yet. That seems unfair/unlikely. How did that happen/was made possible?

First of all, I really want to thank you for making an attempt at answering these questions.

Having been waiting months for some of my questions to be answered, it is nice to know I speak English from time to time and aren't actually hallucinating about writing on here. :D

I would question why Vampires have to drink the stuff, RP wise, directly at the shop.

I get it from a grid perspective, to block people from hoarding all the Blood Bags and basically becoming Immortal, but ICly. No. It doesn't make any sense.

The shops would have to have some form of storage in order to stock the blood bags in the first place, so if you want to talk logic, why are we even saying that it's not possible to store blood bags beyond the store?

Do they have Humans downstairs with the stuff pumped up into Blood Bags so you get a fresh supply? Or does it come from, say, a Hospital? Who have the technology to keep blood from going bad. Otherwise, blood transfusions wouldn't be possible. :/

It's not exactly a Pro-Masquerade move either. Feeding from a Blood Bag in full view of Humans should add bounties to your name, unless they're conveniently packaged like soda cans or whatever. Even so, they would have to be produced, stored, managed and sold in enough time that one can consume them with any degree of effect.

Meanwhile in the basement of ~every~ shop in Harper Rock...

As far as the animal forms of meaner things go, does being in that form negate a Killer's aura?

Also in terms of cameras capturing a vampire's image. If the camera is "old school" and uses a mirror would the photo show the vampire?

Apologies if these have been answered.

No, the aura would still be present.

Yes. Cameras, film, etc all have the ability to capture a vampire's appearance. The only time that a vampire would seem invisible is in a mirror. Similarly, a vampire would show up in other reflective surfaces, like still water etc. In a mirror, even a vampire's clothing will be invisible.
