As we're talking about them posting from a vampire's account, you'd have to make an arrangement OOC with the writer of a vampire, where they say you can post on crownet and have a note the top saying that the account of X vampire was stolen. If that makes any sense.Amalea wrote:How would you suggest RPing out that a human did this? Reading is fairly straightforward, I think. So I'm more curious in a human getting a login and posting.Mooncalf wrote:They could now that Crow isn't protecting Crownet, yes.For that matter, what exactly ties a vampire to their crownet account now? Could they give a human their password and be like "Go wild!"?

Aliyah wrote:So...I was told I should direct my question here, as it would be a canon based question...I guess.
It goes back to my question on Temporal Disruption. First, I know that it is RPed that there has been awareness of it occurring, and that I am cool with. It's what happens DURING that I am not so sure on.
Does the character fade to say...the Shadow Realm, and they knows its the SR...or could it be something their own minds sort of...create? Like a fugue state, maybe?
Example...Aliyah experiences this Disruption, and while she may be in to the SR, or cease to exist...is it possible that her mind goes into this fugue state, and so its an awareness of something totally different, like her hometown in the washed out, deserted and broken down way that they SR would appear?
I don't know if I am making sense... >.< But I was told that sort of idea could break canon, so I should check.
If I am making sense...feel free to try and answer the best you can.
Yeah the idea with this power is that it's a vampire curse because vampires are only partly tied to physical reality. So when flickering in and out of existence, you could either roleplay it that they have no memory of how they got to the new place, or you could roleplay that they flicker into the shadow realm, without actually being in it for any extended period of time. There is, however, nothing stopping you from roleplaying that your character believes they were elsewhere during this missing time.

Makes complete sense... I would hazard that the note on the post would be an OOC one?Mooncalf wrote:As we're talking about them posting from a vampire's account, you'd have to make an arrangement OOC with the writer of a vampire, where they say you can post on crownet and have a note the top saying that the account of X vampire was stolen. Another question for the mythos.
Smoking - yes or no? Would a vampire body other than an Allurist's reject inhaled substances as well as solids and liquids other than blood? If smoking or using inhaled substances can be done without rejection, can a vampire mind be affected(calm the nerves, catch a buzz, etc)?

Yes they can smoke
but only if they have the rpp curse "weakness to toxins", Allurist or not, can they feel the effects of any drugs or alcohol.

Re: Canon Q&A With David
I think that an argument can be made that they can think that they feel the effects - a psychological reaction to a toxin rather than an actual para-biological or chemical reaction. Definitely vampires wouldn't be worried by things like cancer or anything like that. (Unless... dun dun dun!)Alexandrea wrote:Yes they can smoke

And even on the trait description, it says that vampires do suffer the effects of toxins and drugs - they can just resist and shake off the effects faster than normal, whereas vampires without it are affected as normal humans are.

Re: Canon Q&A With David
That could very well be a cause of the 'weakness to toxins' curse. Vampires are partially sub-conscious projections of themselves, so how they view themselves, their abilities, etc would have at least a nominal and potentially very large impact on the way something like nicotine effect them.Xian wrote:I think that an argument can be made that they can think that they feel the effects - a psychological reaction to a toxin rather than an actual para-biological or chemical reaction. But yeah, a vampire could smoke regardless of whether or not they are cursed. They have lungs (as evidenced by their ability to speak), so mechanically it would work. The only thing that would be variable would be how much of an impact that smoking has, and that would be (as Alexandrea said) based on the character's curses and paths.
