Re: Error messages when sending private messages [c]
new message!
(I checked and it wasn't just my connection, every other site loaded just fine PLUS I was still able to move on grid no issue and look at other pages on the forum. So... idk. Sharing here in case it's helpful)
Three times and then after several minutes of checking elsewhere, 2 more times I got the below
This site can’t be reached http://www.mooncalfstudios.com/pathofth ... 9&p=139638 is unreachable.
Try running Connectivity Diagnostics.

Re: Error messages when sending private messages [c]
I feel like I've solved it now (the PMs error only). I think it was to do with the random events rolls or the RP action handling still being worked through on the PMs. So while there might still be error messages when replying, I *think* it won't be happening for the PMs anymore.

Re: Error messages when sending private messages [c]
Upon reading up on this some more, I feel like the reason it might only happen occasionally could be a corrupted database. So I'm hoping the repair I ran just now might have fixed it, as that's what an article suggested anyway.

Re: Error messages when sending private messages [c]
That's an entirely new one I think? Let me know if 1054 shows up again.
But yeah I'll have to look into this too. Must be something about the smiley it doesn't like. Which one was it?

Re: Error messages when sending private messages [c]
I think it WAS the smiley...
what happened was that I had written a message to a friend on facebook but wanted to make sure that they saw it, so I copy-pasted it into a pm here. The smiley was just a :) but it was a copy-pasted one from FB. After I removed it and put in a new (far superior) PoV smiley, the pm went through without issue.
Should I move the posts about this (1366) to a thread of it's own?
eta
just to note, 1054 was NOT The original error message for the issue of pm's not going through, it used to be 1146. (here is where I noted the change; http://www.mooncalfstudios.com/pathofth ... 56#p456156 )

Re: Error messages when sending private messages [c]
It's okay, we can leave them as one bug for now.
1054 - I'll be honest with this one: I don't know how to fix it. At all. The only thing that makes sense to me at this point is the PMs table is corrupted. I'm going to suggest we have a smaller cap on the number of PMs you can store in your history before they get deleted (maybe a larger cap for staff). If it's a corruption issue or even if that table is getting just way too big for this version of phpBB to handle, that might do it. If not, then my next guess would be the custom script which sends a PM to people. But my instinct says go with the most probable fix first.
