Maybe the solution is to just have Aeryn offer mastery unlocks only, and not rituals.
Yes, please.

This, imo.

I'm actually kinda...idk miffed it she does everything without the need to have any ingredients. Even at a price gouge. I honestly just see people taking that route vs going to pc ritualists, because of the 'work' that is involved. I.e. collecting plants or b and e ingreds.
Just my .02
I'd leave Bei as a ritualist because it fits her backstory and such, but I'm really tempted to restat out of rituals for my others due to this upgrade. I'd rather just pay aeryn and have bad *** tank charries, I guess since they make the most impact on grid.

I like this.
It might force people to overlook their differences and work together towards things for the sake of the storyline and character development, and give more credence to support characters. And for those disinterested in the IC aspect of it, it wouldn't infringe on their possibility to get things sorted out amongst players, rather than in character. Might also boost the auction and lower prices... because they're pretty exclusive these days, when there even is something ritual-involved.

Doc has rituals.. to make home tomes. Thats it. Why waste all those points.. if i can pay for it?
IF there is a war.. I can see the need for a ritualist. i can. But will there ever be a war? Doubt it.
But if there is.. it will come down to who has the coin.. older characters who have big banks will have the advantage.

Aeryn doesn't do Tomes since they have to be done by the owner of the property.
She also can't do Uninvite since you have to be standing in the structure to do it. Nor can she do Call to Blood or Unknowing.
She doesn't offer every ritual available to PC ritualists either.
Honestly, I think some of the rituals could use some tweeking and some new ones added, but that's besides the point.
I do have a question though for the Devs - Eternal Bond - does Aeryn now supply the rings or does the couple still have to buy those? If she supplies the rings, I think that one needs to be changed so the couple needs to buy them on their own (partly so they can customize them).

1. tomes-pretty pointless unless owning a place very trapped up or part of war/battle imo. I rarely use mine, save liz.
2. I can wipe out invites with karma.
3. Humans don't need to do call to blood. I've not done call to blood save but 2 times since the ritual has been offered. I've got charries with eye spy or triangulate. gets me what I need to know.
Sorry, I find her to be a pain in my ritualist's *** now that no ingreds are needed.

Honestly, it’s all in how you view it. I - and I know a lot of the others - view it as a chance to bring the community together, if you take the extra steps to do so. Your ritual characters have an opportunity before them to offer their services. You can still use the ingriedients you collected, and you can cheapen your prices or do so for free. I’ve already had two requests for rituals, I just need to collect things. I’ve never had a request before this. So, I’m inclined to believe that we’re jumping the gun before even giving it a chance. If David decides to change Aeryn, that’s fine, but I think she’s fine and a good NPC to have around for thise that don’t want to reach out or have the money to spare.
Edited because autocorrect!

I'm of two minds about it.
Originally, I saw the need for the NPC ritualist to perform rituals that not everyone had access to. However, now those same rituals have been spread amongst the community, so I can see the argument for not really needing her anymore.
I worry that puts gamer characters at a disadvantage, because they may not necessarily want to make IC connections just to benefit from rituals.
Then again, the game is meant to be RP-centric. And I LOVE the idea of players having to interact more with players and PC ritualists getting approached for things.
So I'm torn.

She doesn't supply the rings - meaning both characters would still need them prior to her performing the ritual.
