"Yes, arrested, but likely released, following the detective's-" Yvette said, feeling too awkward to finish that thought. "Well at least, arrested would be the closest one could claim it to be, given the circumstances," she tried to explain, not wanting to break character entirely. She glanced at him, now backing up from him as her eyes moved back and forth between the two men. Was she somehow wrong in her assumption, and the killer now lay before her? Perhaps they had been beside her the whole time? She looked at the redhead for a moment, her focus only returning as she flinched when the 'husband' posed his query. "We spoke of the mourning attire of various nations, then she spoke of how it was a pity that the Prince hadn't come to her group for protection, or he may have yet been alive," the blonde answered rather lifelessly.
She didn't like the way the group seemed at an impasse. She only wanted to find the killer and bring them to justice- of sorts. And what of the other man? The one who has not been seen?

((my first version of this post was better.))
He had seen and heard it all from the beginning. Arriving just shortly before the first murder had began, he had watched the unknown Killers as they set upon their work of cutting a wide swathe through the crowd of party guests in attendance but now that his hour of invisibility nearly over and he'd wanted to be able and actually identify who it was the Killers were before they even had been given a chance to target him.
“Lower-case killers...” he reminded himself.
The people were discussing the event as though any of if it was actually significant in some way.
Flitting stealthily between the huddled groups of party goers, had watched their comings and goings kept especially
(something here which was lost forever)
Replaying the events of the evening backwards in his mind’s eye, (something about logical pairings and who had been present (and those absent!) during the times when each murder was taking place.

Meara listened intently as the banter went back and forth again. It was somewhat interesting to watch as each of them were attempting to figure out the riddle that laid before them. It was interesting that the husband of the, for lack of a better term, woman arrested was stressing so hard about her being hauled off. The vote had been unanimous after all. To be concerned for her well-being, yet voting for her seemed to Meara to be inconsistent and further convince her that he was one of the Red Death.
She eyed the one closest to her and the other remaining woman, and gave him a smile. “How did you know the recently deceased prince? I mean surely we all knew him, otherwise we wouldn’t be here.” Her attentions had now turned to seeing what each individual’s motives were for being present. Perhaps some of the different invitees may have profited if the prince was no longer around, and that could indicate their sympathies to the Red Death.
“I frequently performed at his many galas with my quartet, and overtime developed a friendship. His patronage to the arts will be missed.” Meara offered with a soft smiled as she described her background to the story. For the redhead it was not at all difficult to mimic her character’s emotional memory as she was using an old busking mentor’s memory to as fodder to enlighten her performance. Meara was very glad she had elected to attend this event; she greatly enjoyed acting and cosplay. It was merely another expression of performance that she loved so very much.

Out of the corner of my eye, I finally see the mysterious guy that had been seen, but disappeared. Why had he been hiding this entire time? It was a little strange, wasn't it? I frown and glance at everyone else. Regardless of their opinions, I was interested in knowing how tonight's events all unfolded. And if there was another death...how? Someone had been shot, another stabbed. What was left? the detective would know, that was for sure. I bet she had a laundry list of ways on how to off people.
The appearance of the guy seemed to just be that. He made no movement to join the group, only remain on the outside with no thoughts to share. The sign of a guilty mind, and a careful one, in my opinion. It doesn't take me any more time to decide who was guilty.

"I can not be the Killer," Ripper's voice intoned monotonously. "For if I had struck any of these people then you all would have seen me appear sooner."
He turns towards the two females, addressing them both directly.
"One of you will have to change your vote; unfortunately, it also seems very likely that either of you is also a culprit...so see and observe then which one of them will act in defense of their partner."

Yvette's eyes grew wide as she watched the quiet man speak to them for the first time. Her eyes looked back and forth between the two men as they seemed to head towards a fight.
"Stop. Just stop. There is no need to fight at a terrible time such as this. So many have lost their lives already without more violence."
Why would you even try to fight over something like this?, she thought. Ripper's speech reminded her of her siblings when she was younger- how they would bicker and try to cause conflict in order to cover something else up. She narrowed her eyes at him, staring intently at him as the fight seemed to begin. Something didn't add up at all.
Her blue eyes narrowed further as she looked at Meara, shrugging as she did so. She had been so sure the killer was the one hiding in the corner, but it seemed not to be after all. Sighing, she cast her vote again.

A majority vote has been reached! This means
Ripper has been voted out by the participants.
Though what's with the using a thrall to attack another party member, bruv?!
Not cool!
Even if he hadn't been voted off, violence totally isn't the answer
well this time. We're all just here to play a game, after all.
But I guess that's just Ripper living up to his wildcard status. You lovable goof you.
Anyway, Ripper was an
innocent. No seriously. He really was!
BLACK OUT PHASE BEGINS NOW
Unnnnnfortunately, because Ripper was an innocent, that means anyone who gets killed by the Red Death automatically sends the game into a win condition, because there will be more Red Death than innocents.
THIS MEANS RED DEATH WINS THE GAME!
A huge mega thank you to all of the participants. Those who posted will be getting a participation prize of 5,000 RPP.
Game winners will be getting an additional 10,000 RPP.
I'll be turning the results into David
very shortly.
Those wanting to enjoy the 'after party' so to speak, can continue the fun
in the gallery. Though there's no obligation to.
And sadly, Ripper isn't invited because of the whole attacking thing.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Oh right! Before I forget, our winners are
Doc, and
Urchin!
