If I figure out how to approach that, sure. Any ideas on what to aim for?

I agree with all except the man boobs, lol.

Since you have explained to me the why behind not adding heavyset body types, the man boobs wouldn't be an issue. I think? >.> Never saw them on a slender guy...

As far as facial, think Myk. :D

Brilliant. Thanks David.
Ha! I just had a chance to look at the blank face options and it looks really awkward. Part of the rationale for a 'blank' option is to anonymise the whole avatar. Not just the face being blank, but everything else as well. No more stripper undies, no more (not matching) ugly white bra thing (such a man thing to make these not match).

Just an outline. Like a traced outline of the same body shape, and that's it. For male and female. I mean, it obviously needs to be the exact shape as all the rest, but the 'outline' option is what I meant and I apologise for not being completely clear in the beginning.

Whoops.

Like the 'wounds' avatars?

Yes, much like the wounds avatar (without the customisation many did to theirs).

In fact, it seems to me that this is the better option for the 'default' avatar on character creation and then later, people can pick their own 'skin' and hair once they play in the avatar options a bit. Rather than defaulting their avatar to something that may not suit them at all.

Personally, I believe that the avatar as it is set up now is fine. There are some, like myself, that find creating a character as you can with the avatars to be a source of inspiration for the writer/gamer. There are some that the blank format would hold back because they can't visualize their character. I get though, having a blank option as well for those that don't like it, though, for the life of me, I can't figure out why. But that's me and my opinion.

One reason I would play sims forever and forget time was because I was having too much fun making the sims themselves. Well, and the houses.

Yep, I totally get that. I understand the lure of being able to create something customisable.

An initial blank avatar doesn't preclude the ability to customise, it only supplies a blank canvas in which to do so rather than providing an initial avatar with a certain skin, hair, facial features and clothes at the start up which invariably doesn't fit the character at the outset of creation.

It's a bit chicken and egg really, so both arguments have value. So I'm not fussed either way, it just would be nice to have that generic outline option to choose.

I'm with Pi.

Logging in to all my men looking young, dark-skinned and deadlocked is kind of irksome. A blank canvas would look more like them than that. I'd much rather a blank canvas given I probably won't use the avatars at all.

That's just me though, I'm lazy and they all look like the actors and models I've chosen for them, and I'd rather use karma for lairs and wasted energy boosts than on customization.

Can't david just add a little box somewhere where people tick opting out of the avatar and just having an outline? That way both sides are happy?

Thumbs up for a complete opt-out service.

I genuinely see no value in this. I would like it removed from my inventory pages.
