I'm not sure how I feel, writing this story arc, given Paris and Beirut. You have a start date, which is sadly the day after the attacks in Paris, and our timeline in Path runs the same as real world. The story arc is really similar to what happened in Paris.

Pi is Parisian, I'm going to have to write that into her storyline and it feels a bit disrespectful of a very real tragedy.

I'll see how I feel once I start writing, but it feels a bit ick and I'm only three paragraphs in (and not even from Pi's perspective yet).

I'm curious as to whether or not these recent events CAN be addressed in our posts.
Seeing how it's a fictional world and all that.

I'd like to address what happened in Paris in my post, if that is allowed.

I feel NOT addressing what happened is almost like ignoring it. & Putting off the rp is like just waiting for something to 'go away'.

It's not going away. It's horrible and it's forever. Just like how 911 will never ever be far from the minds of most Americans and many many other citizens of the world.

If we can't acknowledge what happened in our threads, I'll respect that.

I HOPE that we can however. To me, not addressing the attacks feels like ignoring them. That's just me, I know. But I'm sure Pi and Alex (Alexandrea is also part French and her stepmother is incarcerated in a Parisian prison) are not the only characters that would feel an impact personally.

People can choose to address or not address the recent terrorist attacks at their discretion. I can see why some people would want to, and why others wouldn't.

I'll probably mention it in my post....Belle is half french and her father lives there, whom she just had contact with recently.

so are we stuck with just the 3 npcs we got, or can we add some non spec attackers? i feel like our group is a little mismatched.

If you and your group want to add more, you can feel free to do that, you just can't take away from what's given on the prompts.

Along the same lines as Luffy's question, you wrote "A note on explosives experts: They are there to get past traps, locked doors, etc. They aren't going to carry a huge amount of fire power with them, but will have things like smoke bombs, maybe a small hand grenade, and enough explosive for a contained blast to get a door down."

The team for group 3 is only 3 npcs, so they're already outnumbered by the players in our group. can we choose to give the explosives expert more power? I know this is problematic in the QZ, since if something gets blown up, it's less likely to get repaired, but having that person present more of a threat would create a more engaging story for what I had in mind.

Are alts able to post in the non-competition open thread? I figure if this is a citywide attack, then all characters will in some way be caught up, even if not directly.
