That being brought up... why can't a vampire use blood heal on a human then? For those beaten up thralls and for PC human allies.

Vampires aren't alive and Sorcerers have magic based on life energy, I'd wager.

Not all Paladins do. I treat the ones in the sewers like a particular sect of Paladins.

I'm honestly not sure how to address the rest of the thread. >.< I think my only comment is going to be that calling the game maker's choices illogical (which usually implies a lack of intelligence, or incompetence) is probably not the best way to handle the situation if you're legitimately only looking for clarification to something that confuses you.

I can't answer those questions.

But I can kinda see how you can play a Paladin who doesn't know about vampires even after reading the wiki for paladins.

There is a possibility that some paladins branched off from The Order of Saint James of the Sword, which gives you the option of rping them not knowing about vampires.

There's also the possibility of someone coming from a line of paladins. And someone from years and years ago could decide that they don't need to teach hunting vampires because we have to remember a vampire holocaust happened.

So for many many years, there were no vampires. But paladins were still in existence. So why promote hunting something that didn't appear to be in existence anymore?

Not all do. Lots of PC paladins don't attack vampires at all and they certainly don't do it automatically. Not all things will match up. Like...you dont go and put in your RP that you ran into a yellow paladin...>.> A paladin is a paladin is a paladin so whether it be PC or NPC when it comes to the RP there is no separation. Except for the fact that the naked sewer dwellers are like...crazier or something.

If all roleplay reflected the game exactly, then we'd all be writing our characters lugging around 50 swords and 3 cars. The game is a reflection of how the roleplay works, not the other way around. The roleplay always takes priority, and as such you're free to roleplay your trainer being whoever you like, as long as it's within canon.

But side note: not all paladins do attack vampires on sight. Paladins in raids, for example, do not. And neither do paladins who aren't shown on grid (because they aren't vampire hunters, so they aren't a threat to vampires, they are just background NPCs for stories). The paladins in the sewers are St. James paladins, who aren't the only type of paladins in existence, much less the only type to arise since PC paladins were born.

I'm not understanding the question. The power can't be used on undead because a sorcerer's magic comes from nature, and the undead are not natural. It's not because they are supposed to hunt vampires, it's just because that's how sorcerers are. (And also, it helps to stop human dummy accounts being made just to heal up vampire clans for battle.)

Then you probably shouldn't comment, cuz your assumption that I implied the game makers choices were illogical, unintelligent and incompetent makes you look like an *** when I never said that.

I said, there is a lack of logic in something I'm trying to understand. Mostly because there isn't going to be logic in the topic because...there aren't any vampires, sorcs, paladins, blood thieves in our real world so how the hell do we know what would really happen? There won't be logic in something we cant comprehend. So clearly, I can't demand from David to write something the way I view it since this is his game and his viewpoint. Its his fantasy so my logic has its limits to his imagination.

That's not a lack of intelligence or competency, that's our imaginations not meshing and a limit for me to rework the way I imagine things in order to better play this game. I just...have to figure out what he's trying to imagine first...

Woah >.< Hold yer horses, lady. There's no need to be throwing around names or reading that much into my posts. Like seriously, I'm really really not one for the drama, so my comment was only made in an endeavour to help you get your point across without offending anyone (because people will naturally jump to David's defense if they think he is being insulted). It wasn't even just that - you basically told everyone in the thread that they're silly for the way they RP. Or at least...maybe that's just the way I read it?

Either way, I am very sorry if I upset or offended you. That wasn't my intention.

That being said, I am done here >.>;; I uh. Really don't do this ROAR argument thing. Like I hate feeling like I can't post to OOC threads without getting my head bitten off (reminds me of a certain other site). But clearly there are a lot more emotions invested in this than I originally thought.

Hopefully you guys can work something out <3
