Started with this and ended with...

I love the background and text! The model doesn't seem like he fits in there very well, though. You have soft glowy hellishness in the background, but it looks like he's got a spotlight on him.

LOL. I almost added a note about how I suck at lighting >.> Any tips?!

That looks better, but I think the problem is more that he's stark white where he probably should be more orangy (imagine you're sitting by a fire - the light that hits you is orange, not white), so whatever lighting you have going on, maybe add a color overlay and use the eye dropper tool to pick something from the background near the lightning/lava flows?
