Re: Canon Q&A With David
Two questions on Paladins. I hope they haven't been asked already.
1 - Are the runic tattoos paladins have a specific type? Or is this player choice?
2 - Is there a visible difference between their chi-infused tattoos and a regular tattoo?

Because I want it to be some monstrosity far worse than a fadebeast.....
What would be the product of a demifae (such as the encantado or Jorogomo) and vampire union?

Sense undead. It's the more expensive power.Cinnamon Cherrywhip wrote:Which RP Power trumps which?
Mortal Aura, or Sense Undead?

A vampire could only avoid being burned by the sunlight if they blocked it out, so transparent materials wouldn't do anything. Which also means that yes, you could trick a vampire into passing by a window that is letting sunlight through it, but as vampires are super intelligent, I think they'd see the transparency unless they were very distracted.Wendigo wrote:I know that UV light doesn't specifically hurt vamps, but is there any specific component of the light that hurts vampires?
In other words, is there some kind of material that isn't opaque that a vampire could use as a window during the daylight hours? Alternatively, something that would make sunlight dim enough to trick a vampire to approach it? Some kind of dark lens or dimming material? One-way mirror? Enchanted glass?
One thing to remember, though, is that most vampires go completely comatose during sunlight hours. Even those who do not, become much weaker and extremely lethargic. There are very, very few vampires who can walk around in daylight hours without being tired to the point of stumbling around close to fainting (you'd need Daywalk 2 AND Antiagrypniac).

Only if the other writer agrees. That sort of hypnosis doesn't work on everyone, after all.Cinnamon Cherrywhip wrote:Can this be used to hypnotise humans for other reasons? So, you don't have to feed on them, you could just get them to do other things and such?Somnambulism
This power, from a roleplay standpoint, acts like hypnotism which only works on humans. A human under the influence of this spell will become docile and highly suggestive, as if sleep walking, and will allow themselves to be fed on without any struggle. In roleplay, this spell always works on normal humans (even PCs).

Necuratism still lets you feed while critically wounded, so it's still a bonus. We still might bring back other bonuses once we've had a chance to see how necuratists are treated post-beta, so the original canon still stands.Psyche wrote:With the long-time change that had been made to the grid mechanics of necuratism, how does this change the canon of it's rp? A necurat, now, doesn't increase in power any differently than anyone else. There's still previous story line of it's purpose for power...but has something changed over time to nullify these changes in an rp sense? Or is necuratism essentially stripped down to merely being 'vampire cannibalism' or more of a ritualism?

1. Sorcerers can enchant any tattoo, or rather, they can imbue it with power. However, a paladin's strength comes partly from the fae, so at least one of those runes would likely be faeish in origin. If not, then a tattoo they have would have those faeish patterns hidden within them, though it might not be readily apparent.
2. No, but I sort of like the idea of the tattoos shimmering or glowing when the paladin is using their gifts. So I think we'll say player choice on that one. Perhaps some paladins are able to use their gifts without their tattoos glowing, but some aren't.

In RP terms then, what do daywalker 1 and 2 actually do? Because if everyone falls asleep, how does managing a business cost less energy and other such things?
