All im going to say is, there's a reason these changes were made. Good reasons.

Im going to step away from the forum for a few hours. I remember why they were put in place, and I can see those reasons easily happening again, and I'm not too pleased about the idea.
With respect, I am glad you like it this way. I am.

However, the majority of players that used to play and Pay.. liked the pvp. Pvp went away, and now karma sales are slowing. People do not need to pay to play a PVE game.

If all one does is grind against NPCs, why spend money on the game? There is no point really.

No PVP, no need for factions. No need for fadeportals or the convenience items like shops, atms, no need for lairs at all really.

So that leaves buying character slots. I personally cannot handle more than 4 at time. So, no more karma sales for that.

Yes, I could buy extra exp days.. but if I grind everyday (like I already do) buying extra XP days is not cost effective for me personally, it is too expensive for the little pay out my characters would get.

The player base is incredibly small compared to what it was. So we need new players. How many new players to the now PVE game, are going to buy karma? They may here and there. But not sustained purchases. There is no reason for sustained purchases, if there is no PVP, there are no reasons to build a faction base/safe base.

The game needs karma sales to keep going. I Like the game. I have supported it quite a bit in the past. There is nothing karma wise for me to purchase anymore.

Something needs to change.

People loved the pvp when there was no caps.

If there locations where you as a player could pvp, and places where there was no pvp allowed, it becomes the players choice. It becomes more of a strategy game. Out thinking your prey, or on the other hand, out maneuvering the hunter.

All of this. And if you don't want to pvp? that's okay. Don't go to those cities that have comparable loot and xp that are heavy PVP areas.

Karma sales are down, due to the fact of limited things to spend Karma on.

Also. I pay as well ;)

To show support for a game. I believe that's a very good point.

To give back to the community with events. I used to hold events and winners won Karma. None of them ever pvp.

There is PvP. Not heavy, but it's there. My character has been attacked.

Of course there is no need for lairs/atms/of the such. People own lairs, owns nearly everything in game that you can buy with karma.

Im with you there. I only run 1 character and that's enough for me.

You could buy them outright, or get with a group and splut the cost, making it cheaper on you.

How many new players are going to PvP against us older characters, who are established and could wreck them easily. They'll join a faction that's established for safety.

I agree, there needs to be more things for people to spend karma on. I've told David and Josh that personally.

My problem with different zones is. People could go into one, attack and hound a player, then flee back to the area they bought and paid for with their rules and have an advantage over that person.

Example Only: You buy a town, have hitter cap lifted. Doc attacks Cliff in Harper rock and flee's to the town you bought where the hitter cap is lifted. Cliff goes there to attack doc back, and get's slaughtered without a chance. Not a very fair thing. Of course, I could just choose not to go, because I know the hitter cap is taken off, but Then my character could be taunted and attacked more without real repercussion.

Now, we can take it to the extreme, with people trolling new players, getting them to go to those areas, and killing them quickly.

I hope you see where I'm coming from.

There is a lot to spend karma on, no one is doing it because there is no need to. I don't need another apartment to hide in.
I don't need more hydros...I'm not doing rituals to find people or boost stats often.
I don't need/want boosts/orbs because grinding to become the strongest/best character out there is pointless.

Just some examples of things I used to buy when pvp was a thing

So, are you saying that if PvP came back hot and heavy again, you'll buy more buildings and apartments, and all that other stuff even though you already owning most of it already? Especially with how little players we have.

What do you consider hot and heavy?

Traps will only ever be 1 per square. Okay.
There is an anima cap. Okay with that too, Makes sense to me.
There is a healing cap-never made sense to me.
There is a hitter cap atm.
I believe there is a cap on how many spirits you can summon in a day?

I am sure there are other things I am forgetting or not thinking about off the top of my head, but before I, or anyone else who is interested in pvp-ing answers this, I think players need to know what hot and heavy pvp would be.

Azraeth wrote:If the issue is crafting not being useful enough (I disagree for a few reasons), maybe it would be better to have some other high end crafting or group crafting projects. Personally, I think crafting is on or above the same level as is with non pvp skills. Open to ideas tho.

Sorry,missed this.

Crafting is useful in the sense of crafting weapons. But even that is kinda eh...cause everyone restatted to make cool bad *** guns. I don't know very many people that have anything less than 14, 14, 9 in guns and melee. New players might not, but Mordechai used to give nice guns to new players, idk if he still does.

I find traps, underwhelming for the reason there can only be 1 per square and I believe you can't lay them in most public places due to security ratings (which I get).

I like to occasionally craft jewelry-but I'd like more options, I guess? What about nose rings? Belly button rings, things like that since one day we'll be able to show them off on our characters?

I'd also like to see crafting be idk...more.
Like craft...an engine block for example, literally ANYTHING. Granted you can still only sell those things, but then again., maybe not? Crafting things could eventually be partnered up with something else players can do and sell or create and benefit from.

Maybe not hot and heavy, but im trying to figure out how having some of those caps lifted would make you want to buy more hydroponics, lairs, and other such things you already own. Unless you're speaking of the zone where the cap is lifted, but what real benefit would that give since the player base is low, and if people really want to pvp, they will. With or without the limits.

Now I can understand wanting to own an area where the limits are lifted, for nostalgia. It'll be fun, people will get involved on grid, pvp, all that, until feelings get hurt, or egos flare, people start feeling like people are unfair.

By all means, lift a few of those limits in a trial. I hope im wrong.

I honestly feel as if you are overly emotionally involved in something that doesn't exist. It seems that you're under the impression that there is no option to avoid those areas, or even flee those areas. That you will just stand around and get mobbed (when you yourself claim the player base is so low anyways). You would be surprised how difficult it is to kill a vampire character. 20 hits, I believe it is. 20. And that's at the minimum. If you do not have at least 2 crits I think it is on the character, then you'll have to hit them more. By the time you get an alert your character is being attacked you could leave the pvp zone and go to a zone that is free from that (if people are being a 'dick' in your mindset).

Ouch. I really wish for you to not claim i'm being overly emotional. Im very much in control of them. I know exactly what i'm doing. I undersrand I have a reputation in my past, but that's not who I am now.

There are ways to avoid these areas, I've even said as much, just do not go there.

Im curious. Who are you planning on PvPing in these areas? Are players going to return to the game, their levels lower than most others and try to pvp?

As I said, lift the caps in a trial, see what happens. I'm just looking at things from every conceivable side, to see if it can be misused, abused, used to damage the game in an unforeseen way.
