I addressed this here.
Basically the idea is that vampire blood kind of has a life of its own outside of the will of the vampire. Not like a conscious mind, but a desire to perpetuate its own existence so it doesn't operate the same way severed limbs do. A vampire's body itself is (to an extent) a projection of the vampire's perception of their existing state, whereas their blood is independent of that.
I'm not 100% sure where I read that, but I remember researching the topic in the wiki and by looking at past answers you (David) made on the subject before arriving at that conclusion.
I'd say that blood would eventually fade, but only because the belief that vampire blood ashes has become so popular and is used so much. I personally don't like the idea of modifying canon for the sake of popularity, but I also don't want to force people to change a lot of existing RP.
Suffice it to say that
if vampire blood does ash, or fade, it would
not be immediate. So a vial system could work just fine.
@ David: I think that's what you're asking? Let me know if I got something wrong XD
Yeah that's more or less what I thought we'd both said in the past. Thanks!

Maybe the solution is just to hide people's races on their CS entirely. Unless the person either appraises them, or has a paladin power of some kind.
I'm also tempted to get rid of IDs on Blood too. Just for the sake of simplicity and speed.

Yes. I like the hiding race thing.
Mooncalf wrote:One thing that worries me about the getting rid of IDs thing is that it could encourage crossing / god modding, which is bad for a roleplay-centric game. I mean, people could attack vamps and claim they knew they were vamps because X BS reason.
There's bound to be crossing, one way or another.
Information learned in threads will likely affect how we operate on grid.

Okay I'm doing this. Prepare for bugs.

Bugs seems to be appearing.
A thread has already been started:
Human seeing vampires

Will the ritual 'Unknowing' be getting repurposed?
ETA
and how will this affect cameras recognising passerbys?
Also passing items isn't working between humans and vampires, even human thralls.

The 'Know Vampire' might need a new purpose as well.
On a side note, it's really weird to see names on the grid after so many years of not seeing them

It is, but I love it.
I honestly thought I was losing my mind when I first started seeing names I knew were Vampires whilst logged into my Human. Because it was in a haunt I have just started my Sorcerer going to, I got so confused. Had to check my own name to make sure I was actually logged in to who I thought. XD
My only question is, will Vampires be able to feed on Human PCs at all? I've wandered over to my own Humans whilst logged into a Vampire, and there's no noming option. I'm assuming I would need their IDs, to know they are actually mortal? Though, one would suspect that a Vampire would probably
know if he was standing next to a Human... >.>

@Levi
Yes, vamps can feed on human PCs. Click on the "+" More Commands icon, and you get an option to feed on the human. It works for thralls too. Oh, the temptation to munch a few human characters is quite high
As Alex mentioned, passing items to thralls doesn't work at the moment which is a pain, although passing items to human PCs seems to be available.

Working on everything else now. Sorry for the problems, I thought I'd be able to get it all done in a few hours, but as usual I underestimated the task ahead.
Just a note: I've removed the Know Vampire and Unknowing rituals entirely. They are obsolete now.
