If there was a banquet table covered with her infamous brownies she was pretty sure it would still not be enough to calm the surprise that came over her. Ripper. He was waving a numbered paddle. Where the hell did he get that? She looked around. This was not only a surprise it was something to be concerned about. Where the hell had he been hiding? A slow sigh left her lips. What in the world could she possibly say? Dimples came to her cheeks until it almost hurt to smile.
"Welcome to the party that seems to never end."
Under her breath she mumbled. She pointed her index finger to the dwindling pan of brownies as if they could be all his. Which wasn't too far from the truth. She had enough that she missed a few things. Ripper was in the auction with a paddle. She shouldn't be the only one concerned. Everyone else was fair game too, right?

Glancing around she lifted up from her seat enough to pull out her cell phone without appearing too distracted. She wasn't. Her fingers were twitching as she did a search on business space availability. The shadow knew a good thing when she saw it. The brownies had to be worth investing in. She could balance the mechanics with the new endeavor. While Mortll sent up a bid she started looking at locations available and put in a few orders for bulk flour and new seeds. For one hundred and seventy eight thousand she would be one bad *** brownie baking machine.

At this point, Cytherea was completely stumped. Never had she expected that things would take such a dramatic turn, and she was kind of thankful Doc had subtly whispered in her ear, forbidding her from spending another cent, because that would have been a fight she'd limp away from, for sure. Instead she relaxed into Doc's chest, just staring now. Who was gonna get her pretty stepchilde. Mortll? Enzo, who was doing it for Mortll? Ripper? This person via proxy? Ric had left earlier, so he was out of the question. Unless there was some plot twist later on, who knew in this city, nothing was ever certain.

Doc made sure to wrap his arms about his wife, in such a way, so that she could not bid. Her head was twisting this way and that... and when Mortll bid, he could feel Cytherea tense in his arms and then relax, but he was ready in case it was a trick to make him relax his hold. "No.. no more bidding. She put herself up there.. she can take the consequences. We are not bailing her *** out." He whispered in to her ear. Then added, "Who the **** pays 178 grand for a brownie recipe? Not us.

Her *** hurt and her gut was coming around with a knotting of the interior muscles that had her considering it a contender. Both wanted to do her in and she glanced at the culprit of both. Damn brownies. For all the willpower she had and usually displayed tonight proved to be a show of anything but that. The chemical buzz in her was hardly debilitating nor was it enough to have her lose her mind. It just gave it a smooth ride through the long hours that she had spent standing up in front of those she knew. Some who perhaps have great intentions as well as others who may find the option of several nights making her miserable worth the investment. Time would tell. Soon the final call for bidding would be announced and she would be looking at the temporary fate of her choice to cure a temporary boredom.
"You really need to find a hobby." A voice that sounded like bone chilling winter air slipping through the minimal space between a door and the less than insulated frame found her. Her dark eyes moved from side to side while her head stayed still. "Kicking your own *** by default can only be fun for so long." A flesh freezing chill traveled up her spine beneath her clothes and her eyes widened. "Catch you later."
Great. The possessive wraith with a hard on for tormenting her was back. It had been so long that she thought he had evaportated or got sucked up in someone's Kirby or Hoover. Ghostbusters were a hot thing again. It was possible something like that was around. While those hanging out seemed preoccupied she resisted the pan of left over brownies but gave her fingers a discreet sweep of her tongue. Napkins. She wandered off to locate some.

Raises brow and while her lips flatline.
"Yo, Ripper. Name is Dominique." She blinked. "The tattooed chick has a name."
This was a serious turn of events in the long evening she never anticipated. In the spirit of the reason she was up there she pulled out two brownies. Surely Ripper could use some of what was in them. Stepping up she handed the treats over and gave her dimples a show in support.
"The secret is in the layers. Enjoy."
So now that she was finding her pan having less and less to offer up she figured soon she would be buying rounds of drinks or whatever. Even she was getting a little dry at the lips.

* Narrowly managing to suppress a superior scoff, he then address the lot item being bid on directly *
"I know your name, of course, and clearly have little to no interest at all in your.....confectionery."
This last word spoken comes out in an unconscious snarl that growled out sounded like it had left behind a bad taste inside his mouth.

Dominique found that disappointing since those last sections of brownie had the real kick in them. A quick dismissing smile left it where he dropped it. Soon there would be some relief for both of them. Just as soon as they parted ways at the front door. She was confident that both of them would in the very least agree on that. Ripper growling inspired a smirk as she watched and waited for the closing bells to ring.
