OKay, I'll check back to see what you two come up with.
I know that you made it an IC thing last year, and that wasn't a problem for me, because the actual 'house cut' went to moddy-things. Not to your own personal in game faction that may or may not help someone eventually.
The only way I'd be comfortable with that, IC or OOC, would be if Pi posted an actual thing of where the money went too - with specifics. 20k to xyz person for xyz thing and, also, to make sure that it's not just going to your friends alts. Which I would want from anyone if I was participating.

I expect the solution Natasha and I came up with will take care of the concern.

Wow. So when I say something like this, I get the run around. When someone else suggests things or says more or less the SAME THING, they get a different response. A more pleasant one. Noted.
Also, since Pi is hosting it, all money should go to her imo. So that means only one charrie on one ip imo.
That would make sure there was no alt aiding or whatever at all.

I think you guys should really wait for Natasha to get back to you about our ultimate plan. It will be different, if the same, but definitely taking feedback into consideration.
And you weren't given the run around Becca, as you know, I was waiting for feedback from the Admins, which I just got today when Natasha was online. Unless you're talking about how the money is spent, what I told you in PM was relevant if the auction remained as it was. But I expect with the adjustment in that part that will be taken care of too. While also dealing with any issues with alt-aiding through Pi & Elliot.
So again, you'll find this issue largely dealt with, taking all concerns into consideration.

I am of the same opinion.

I really wish Natasha had told everyone what the plan was prior to her falling to sleeps. >.> Now I have to wait for UK morning, reiterating that "All will be revealed"

I do have one other suggestion to make regarding this years auctions.
Last year under the specified deadlines you stated this - The Auction will be open to bidding only until 11:59pm EST, 31 October 2014.
Yet bids after that time were accepted up until you physically closed each individual thread.
I would like to suggest that you either be more clear with the rules and state what is actually going to happen or stick to what has been designated. If the deadline for bids is a certain time then bids made after that time should not be counted.

Yeah, definitely planning to do better on that this year. Like we talked about last year, it was my first year doing the auction, and it was the first year doing those individual threads, which were so awesome, but also proved a bit of a logistical nightmare when it came time to close them.
I really thought closing those threads would go faster but it totally didn't go as I had planned at all. No blame, just an aspect of last year's auctions that we had to experience to understand where it went wrong.
The feedback through Survey Monkey afterwards did give some good suggestions for that and Natasha thinks she can globally lock threads in one felll swoop :) (or we can just go by exact timing) - so one way or another that aspect should be sorted. And I'm not going to try and close each thread individually as the ending to the auction.
>.> Cause that was a huge cluster **** of epic proportions. There was no way to contingency for what happened there. So better to learn from it.
That being said, it would be nice to see everyone participate in the auction. I know, for reasons out of my control, that screw up went IC, but I hope my failure at anticipating how that would work doesn't impact people's decisions to join in on this one.

To avoid conflict all coin from the auction will now go through PoeticPuppy so that everyone can take part and the 15% taken by "the house" will now be removed from the game. ICly, of course it should be assumed that Pi and Lancaster keep the 15%.
And yes, when the auction ends it should be possible to lock all the posts at once. This will allow Pi to reply to and close out all the auctions at a more leisurely pace and stop any bidding while she is working through the threads.
