Thanks to a certain someone I’m now wondering if I smell. Granted we were going hunting. I knew the basics. Keep quiet. Sensible footwear. Don’t wear anything bright that would make me stand out. Then he adds in the whole, wear something clean bit. I’m not sure if I should be offended or if he has a valid point. Standing upwind from an animal could mean they pick up my scent before they see or hear me coming but still. I’m thinking that maybe he was just adding to the rules. Lord knows I shouldn’t go jumping to conclusions on this or anything. I mean he’s an odd duck and if he thought I smelt, I think he’d of just told me outright. Still… I’m gonna ask Ellie at some point. I asked Dillon but his senses aren’t as good as ours. I need a second opinion from a vampire.
Oh I probably should add that hunting isn’t really my thing. Don’t get me wrong. I love being outside and all that but watching the light go out of a living creatures eyes… Well… It doesn’t do anything for me. I guess I’ll find my own distractions if we do this again. Maybe take photos or something. I dunno. I could take my pad and sketch what I see. It’s been a while since I did any still life drawings.

The freakiest thing just happened to me. Either a ghost just spoke to me, or I'm going insane. What with vampires being real and all, I'm hoping its the former, as the latter would kind of suck. Actually it would more than suck. I like my mind the way it is. Most of the time. So. Given that the ghost said something about a master. It either belongs to Ellie or Ric. Because really. No-one else would bother sending a spirit my way. Actually now I think about it. It's probably Ric's. Elliot would have just called. And Ric did one of his famous disappearing acts earlier too. Which was a shame. I was looking forward to snapping some wildlife pics. Though I guess I don't really need him about to do that. I'll just declare that I won the game when I next see him. I'll argue he forfeit the game when he next shows up.

Urgh. The witches thrall is just as insane as she is. He actually accused me and Ellie of cuddling too much. What a load of crap. The thing is full of it. One hug. Again. What is it with that woman? Her mind must be polluting her thralls or something. If that happens to me and Dillon I’m gonna have someone put a bullet in his brain. Ain’t no way I’m mind melding with him. And what’s worse is Elliot acts like it might have a point. He actually said we shouldn’t hug if her thrall is about. Well one. I didn’t know who is was that was with us and two. I didn’t do anything wrong. Seriously. This is getting ridiculous. What is the world coming too when you can’t hug your father figure? I’m not standing for this ****. I kinda feel sorry for Ellie you know. I mean a ***** for a wife and her thrall isn’t much better. Urgh. I really hate her thrall. Obnoxious **** of a man. I don’t usually dislike people. It’s a waste of energy and stuff but seriously. I think I’ll be avoiding him for my sanity’s sake. You know he says he never knows where she is. I mean I’m all for independence and stuff but that don’t sound right.
Oh. I made a **** load at auction today. I mean I don’t really rate money or anything. It’s not a priority for me but damn. Who’d of known I’d be making more money selling “re-enactment” gear than my jewellery. That don’t sound right either. I guess it’s a day for it. Things not seeming right that is.

Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Ellie thought it was fun to tease me about the men in my life. I’d just got done saying that Ric was MIA and had been for a while when he resurfaces. He has pretty spectacular timing I tell ya. One more message from me and I swear I’d be on the verge of stalking. What is the definition of stalking anyways? I’m gonna look that up. Hahaha. Wilfully and repeatedly following, watching and/or harassing another person. Well ****. I guess I am stalking him. Though to be fair the following/watching part might be wrong. Pinning that guy down is nigh on impossible. Harassing’s kind of out too come to think of it. I mean a few emails don’t really constitute harassment. He seems pretty unflappable. I highly doubt he feels harassed by a couple of messages. Phew. So… no. I’m not stalking him. Never stalked a guy before, so it would be a bit odd to start that kind of thing now. I should stalk someone though. That might be fun. Maybe Pi’s thrall thing. Or Ellie. Though stalking Ellie will get me in a lot of trouble. Might be best if I avoid the whole staking thing altogether.

So… Now don’t die of shock but… I’m considering looking into buying a place of my own. Not sure where really. I mean I took a look around town and the most readily available place to buy is over in that Quarantine area. I’m pretty sure that’s not right though. I mean who’d want to live there. That’s like living in a crypt or a frickin’ mausoleum. Not to mention that, that area is crawling with beasties too. Guess I’ll keep looking. An apartment might be the way to go for me. I mean I can’t see myself in a house. Certainly nothing like what my parents have. I could get Dillon on the case I guess but I don’t really want to start involving others in my search unless I’m serious. Right now I’m quite content where I am.

Great. Another pair of jeans ruined. First that hunter puts a bullet through a pair and then today I’m attacked by a shadow. A shadow! I kid you not. Who’d of thunk it? Not me that’s for sure. What is the world coming too when you aren’t even safe from a shadow? No idea where it came from. Who sent it or anything. But anyways. Yeah. Another pair of jeans ruined. But at least they found a good home. I gave them to Ric since he seems to be the king of taking useless crap and breathing new life into it. You know what. This entry is kind of twisted. I should have started with the fact that after like 2 months of knowing the guy I finally got an invite to see his place. It’s kind of Spartan meets Hoarder. Which is so Ric. Not that I’d say I know him all that well. But from what I do know of him, it suits him. Oh I should add in that I can kind of count myself as one of his latest projects too, cos after that non-entity attacked me, he had to stitch the wound closed. He used a needle and thread. The thing is itching like a mother ******. I hope it heals soon.
Oh wow. Can’t believe I forgot to write this bit earlier. Anyways. Got Ric to agree to come to the ‘rents with me for xmas. We’re gonna go freak them out. He might even break something for me while we’re there. I can’t wait to see mum’s face. But if that wasn’t weird enough. Not that I asked. But that he agreed. He then basically told me I was coming with me to his family thing. An Altaire get together. He didn’t even give me a choice. I’m not sure what to think of that to be honest. I think I’ll just chalk it up to Ric being Ric and hope his family aren’t anything like mine. My birth family that is. Not sure he could even meet the dArtois one. I haven’t heard anything about a dArtois xmas thingy. I probably should ask Ellie. See if he has any plans. **** knows what I’m gonna get him for xmas. I should probably start looking. Learned something new today though that seems to be par for the course these days. Apparently there are hidden areas in the catacombs. I mean I wouldn’t know that anyways since I really don’t like going down there. That place is seriously ******* creepy. But well, Dillon’s down there a lot, so he should look out for it I guess. I’m not sure what’s in these hidden places but apparently they can have cool stuff in them. So long as Dillon stays out of people’s way it should be fine. At least I hope so. He seems to do pretty well down there though, so I’m not worried too much. Plus he doesn’t even ***** about it anymore. I think he’s using the place as some sort of running track. He gets to exercise and pick up neat stuff for me while he’s there. I’m glad about that really. I’d hate to have to ask him to go down there so often if he hated the place. Good job he doesn’t find it creepy like I do.

Okay so I get dogs marking their territory and all that. A lot of male animals do it. But I guess with vampires it’s the females that do it. At least this seems to be my experience. I mean there was that whole thing with the witch at the auction. She was quite clearly drawing a line in the sand. Not that I’ve paid much attention to it. I still hug and kiss the guy. I just try not to do it when her or her spy are lurking about nearby. Seems to be safer for us all. And Ellie hasn’t told me to quit it or anything so. Yeah. He knows it’s just me being me. But today I saw someone mark their territory with lipstick. I mean there really wasn’t any other reason for it. Unless she’s like his nan or something. I mean nans leave lipstick marks but that’s probably cos of the lipstick they wear and stuff. I mean nowadays there’s no excuse for leaving traces of lipstick anywhere. Not if you buy the right stuff and apply it properly. Not that I’m much into lipstick myself. So yeah. Weird. Speaking of weird, I was informed once again that sex is weird and unnecessary. I don’t see myself ever agreeing with that statement. I mean there’s nothing better. If you’re with the right person. Or sometimes the wrong one. Wrong in the right ways that is. Dillon does not fall into either of these categories. I mean don’t get me wrong. Things with him can be… well… good. He gets the job done. But there’s no spark there for me. Avoiding Dillon when drunk is probably one o my better plans and so far it seems to be working for me. Thank god!

I’ll admit. The lack of xmas spirit in the dArtois sphere is getting to me. No mention of plans, get-togethers nothing, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. I’ve left a message on the fam board asking about plans and such. Though the message was more aimed at xmas in general. I want to put a tree in the family hub, or Lancaster’s. Don’t much care which. I just want a big ol’ tree covered in tacky tinsel and cheap ornaments. Mum never did allow us that kind of thing, even when we were kids. We always had one of those perfect, store looking trees; the kind where the tree has clearly been shaped and a team of overpaid decorators has worked their magic on it. I mean don’t get me wrong, fancy trees with crystal ornaments and **** are nice. Real pretty. But there’s nothing like the more homely, slightly tacky versions. I do love a bit of tat. Guess that explains a lot about me life. But I’m not going rehash the same old argument yet again. I’m pretty sure if I looked back at old diaries, I’d find almost identical entries from around this tie every year. New life. New start. New traditions. I really should embrace that ideology a little more.
Oh. I got an ego boost today too. Charlie called me the master of the blade. It’s kind of funny considering I can’t wield the things but I’ll take the compliment. I know I do good work. I think I may have peaked though. I haven’t seen much improvement of late. Not like I did back when I first started making the things. Anyways. She’s a nice girl. My kind of people. Which is just odd to say considering the fact that she is a woman and I clearly vibe better with men. If the family doesn’t work something, I’m gonna hit her up for a girl’s night out; just the two of us if needs be.
