I enjoy the writing for impact threads, even if we don't see it until the end, unlike the grid stuff now

I disagree. The unknown vampire that controls the thrall is bound to be a huge badass and knowing David, whatever carrots he dangles for us to follow will all led us off the edge of some cliff or another.

The human seems the safest bet, imo. If it can not be enthralled, bribed or blackmailed? It can be killed.
