I also don't think that you understand the differential between the gamer and roleplayer option that comes up during account creation. It is not stating that you are only an RP'er or that you are only a grid-player. It's always been that if you were a roleplayer, you also played the grid because the game is grid based. The differential is based on two types of grid players. Those who roleplay and those who do not.
When making a new character, having never before had a character; what is there to understand about the option? There is a pretty picture with a game controller and another that depicts comedy and drama. It does not, at all, depict images that are shared. So, in essence, you are expecting a new player to understand that role playing and grid gaming goes together.

And, most of us know what happens when one assumes.

And I'm not speaking for the creator. He's said it himself as have many others in this thread. Grid is an aspect of the game. You have to log in or be deleted. Once deleted, your character is considered dead. Most that have remade a character or redone them after writing a certain way have been told, "Uh, no. That doesn't fly, sorry. Go back to the way it was, or start over." So, I feel they are being very nice by letting you keep this account and not remake him, by the way. I wouldn't go around mocking the rules, especially about tone or sarcasm. I can tell you from experience, it won't end nicely.

And no, I would not be impacted if our characters met and knew the other. My tone would not be different. I have had many childre on this account or other accounts that have moved on to other ventures and wish them well. It's just a game. I understand Zelda player might be frustrated (as seen in their tone) because obviously you two have rp'd things somewhere...but I keep the idea of it being just a game and the other person's mindset in mind when it's for the well being of someone other than myself.

:)
Is there really a case anymore?

Let alone, I am not mocking David at all. I am simply reiterating what he had said.

Elijah Cole at the time of deletion did not have anything of value on him. Nor, was he a higher level than what was allotted by the free five levels gained for being a non-path human character.

So, in essence, I feel like there is no reason for Elijah Cole not to be recreated, Elizabeth. He didn't have anything of value or worth on his plate. And in truth, he would have forfeited those items to begin with just to come back and have the ability to role play with those he is in current contact with. So, Elizabeth, there is nothing to remake here, but a name.

And you are right. It is just a game. And I hope none of the players that you enjoy to engage with aren't ever sick or unable to access a computer; for they will be deleted and you will still give me that nice little smiley face as if everything is okay when you stick it to a post.

Thanks, I will have to do that.

As Elijah Cole is not my main character, I felt like I had enough information to play him with others in live chats with the knowledge base that I currently possess.
Just as an addition - using this as justification of your point doesn't work either. To go into live chats you have to log into your account on the grid. Logging in on the grid would remove you from vacation mode, and therefore stop the deletion countdown and this issue wouldn't have arisen.

As for the rest, well, I'm sure a few people will have a few things to say about it all.

Ninjaed by Chelle..... And if you want to make a suggestion, there's a whole forum dedicated to suggestions. And in case you miss the rule, you need to put a poll into it before posting. :)
I did not feel that I need to prove a point? Live chats to me can consist of YIM or Google Docs too. Sorry that I did not better clarify that.

Ah, a poll. Thanks for the help!

Not all 18+ role play is completely smut-based. Thanks.

just wondering why this is still going on when the char was obviously either restarted or given back....it all comes down to the fact that this is rpg not just a writers forum, which is obvious from the fact that you have to create a ''character'' not just pick a ''screen name''....its over with....put a suggestion in suggestions and lock this thread

You're making a character on a grid. When you finish, you're taken to the grid. What's there to misunderstand?

You shouldn't assume that I'm assuming anything :)

@Elijah Cole

From my understandings on how the mechanics work, if you go through the grid to the forum, it should keep the character from being deleted because you logged on to the grid first. I could be wrong in this, however. That question would be better suited towards Mooncalf or PoeticPuppy.

I get what Elijah is saying. The RP option vs gamer option at the beginning can be misleading to a player that is not 'in the know' about the last 3 years of the game, or grid/rp game playing in general. A gamer isn't required to RP, but an RPer is required to do grid and I don't think the average new player will realize that. That option really has no impact on anything but as an informative OOC message to other players, but as I said- many may not realize this if they haven't been part of this community or a similar one before.

Sometimes I move on grid every day but don't RP for months, and to someone who is more into the RP than the grid, the opposite may be true. I think a warning or very clear message when choosing those options at the start that grid movement is required not to be deleted, is fair.

I'd advise to Elijah to just make a habit of clicking game, logging in and picking up a few of those random things on the ground once a week.
