I hope that makes sense. o.0

Bringing back dead vampires as wraiths can be done in game using one of the rituals (Raise Wraith) so there's that option. That way, the character would be able to control themselves, but you'd be able to roleplay your character controlling them as a thrall if you like.

Alternatively, you could do it as you said, and you could roleplay (with permission) that the summoned wraith is the dead vampire. When they are deleted, that does not necessarily mean that the original character is dead. You could just roleplay it that they were returned to the SR, and then the original character would be able to return to life as normal, if the player of that character wished. Does that make sense?

Wendigo wrote:What differences exist between the RPP power "Blood Memories" and the Telepath ability "Read Memories" other than the obvious (e.g., you have to drink blood to use Blood Memories). Are the experiences any different in terms of how they're experienced by the vampire using the power?
Blood Memories isn't path exclusive. Any path can use it.

But if we're talking purely about how the memories are experienced, then Blood Memories is experience through flashes of actual visual memory (remember, the power must be used with permission). This is of course a contrast to Read Memories, which the telepath experiences more in terms of linear, almost narrative thought, with no images. Read Memories can be best described as hearing a story read out in your own mind, as if the caster was following a pattern of thought in the same way you might be reading this reply in your head at the moment.

Robert Pratt wrote:What happens to parts of the vampiric body that are removed from the body as a whole?

Blood taken by blood thieves.
Blood splatter from wounds.
Severed limbs.
Parts removed via torture/accident/for fun/etc.

Basically, any part of the vampire, removed from the whole. What happens to it?
After giving this some thought and talking it over with Natasha, we've come to the decision that any body parts removed from a non-killer would vanish in the same way as the vampire's body would vanish if they had died. This might not happen instantly, but the body parts would be gone after an hour.

As for blood, the same rules do not apply.

Madison wrote:How come when you kill a blood thief (that uses powers in combat so therfore has vampire blood in their system), they don't become a vampire?

I just had this pop into my head and was like huh.....that blood thief genocide in the first chapter would have caused the accidental sirings of hundreds of vampires....
Humans must be fed vampire blood as they are about to die / have just died in order to become a vampire. Merely having it in your system won't turn a human into a vampire.

Answering this question, though, has made me realise that there's a serious lack of information regarding blood thief transformations and vampire turning rituals. I'll work on that as soon as I can.

Can a wraith possess a human if it had full energy and full anima?

Mystics do it when they come back from the SR as a wraith. So it makes sense that for a short time, a normal wraith could in RP too.
Unless I've said otherwise in the past, wraiths cannot possess the living. They must be very powerful, and concentrate very hard to even be able to interact with anything in the real world.

Wendigo wrote:Also, can you write something that helps to distinguish between the effects of Confuse and Overwhelm. They have the same on-grid outcome, and they're described fairly similarly in the Wiki... but it would be nice to have some examples of which power is better to use in which circumstances (e.g., being chased, trying to win an argument, trying to insure someone doesn't remember what they've just seen, et cetera).
Whereas Confuse causes a target to become disorientated and slow witted, Overwhelm just floods the target's mind. The outcome would be similar in that both would cause an inability to focus, but Overwhelm might trigger anxiety, rage, paranoia etc, whereas Confuse would make the target much more subdued. I suppose the difference could be likened to the effects of weed or heroine VS the effects of meth or speed.

I think that sort of speaks for itself as far as which circumstance is better for which power?

I'm pretty sure Necuratists are always remembered when bitten. As it's seen as an attack.
Yes, this is true. Vampires don't go into any form of trance when bitten in the way some humans do.

I don't want to be too dogmatic with that, as RP traits are optional after all. They can manifest themselves after some time, but it's also unfair to tell people they can't say their character had X curse or trait before they were available in game. Just because they only recently became available in game, doesn't mean they never existed before that point.

You mean if they didn't witness it? I'm undecided on that matter, as we might make it so that the illusionist is told when a decoy is destroyed.

So.

1 - What does happen to blood and why's it different?

2 - Why's it been changed from what you'd said before regarding parts removed from a vampire? For example, when Phoenix severed Nick Bowstrong's leg and made earrings out of the bones - which vanished when he was killed. And when it was raised in a discussion, you said it was player's choice and that it was a cool idea - therefore was fine in terms of canon.

3 - What happens to all previously established RP based on 2, where people have crafted all manner of things from bones of vampires, or have various collections of bits taken from vamps?

4 - How to we get feral fangs if all parts of a vampiric being dissipates after an hour. Don't think it'd be believeable to say all ferals are of the killer path would it?

5 - Speaking of, what's a fadeling corpse? Fade beasts are meant to be beings of shadow and they can be taken from feral vamps, which apparently completely dissipate when dead. So how have we got baby corpses?
