I really hope you are wrong about it being just one.
It will be way more than one. More like 7-9, I'd say.
If your character is looking like they might be involved in a fight, then you'd change your build to be ready for that fight. It adds some tactics.
There would be some frustration switching back and forth, I agree, but we're hoping to make the number of equipable relics high enough to avoid such frustration. The goal is to make it so that you only really need to switch when you change key activity to one that you don't do every day, such as PVP.

Josh is coming up with a list of relic ideas, while I've been concentrating on weapon and armour enchantment ideas. But both have possible super enchantments, so I can give you a few examples of weapon / armour super enchantments (which use a mastery fae shard, and another fae shard):
- Weapon enchantment: adds additional intelligence wound (2 wounds total per hit)
- Weapon enchantment: increase XP per kill
- Armour enchantment: decreases blood lost per hit by 0.1 (stackable, up to 0.5)
Relic enchantments would be more unique and interesting, but would be along the same lines as far as power goes. So having 20 of those equipped at once would be insane, and you'd be a beast, so we have to limit it.

You won't have only one equipped at a time. It'll be one per bodypart. You'll be able to equip a lot.
Maybe there can be a Pre-Set Quick Equip function?
I wouldn't have thought we'd need pre-set gear. You have to unequip and re-equip enchanted gear in Skyrim, Fallout, Destiny, etc., if you're doing something different. If it's not a problem in those games, it won't be a problem in Path.
People should wait to see how it will work before worrying. It shouldn't be a problem. If you're a ritualist who also does NPC killing and manages businesses, you'll probably be able to equip your build of relics and stuff which will cover all of those things. At most, you might swap out a couple of relics each day. The only time you'd need to swap out more is if you get into a PVP fight, for example. Everything should be fine.

Where would things like:
Alligator Tooth Necklace, Charred Fox Ear, deep slayer acorn, rpp relic, fall into place?
I suppose the ear could be for pvp, but some of those are special to certain times in a day/month. I wouldn't remember to equip those over say...my four needed for ritual purposes, 2 for hacking, one for business and one for b and e...
those alone are like...8 without any of the special things for PVP and...other, I guess I'll call those? idk what they'd be.

If you hack, b&e, ritual, exchange RPP, and do businesses all with one character every day then you might have to swap items around twice a day instead of once. Most people don't do that.
Charred Fox Ear you'd only really need to equip if you have lots of IC enemies. Otherwise it's not necissary. The point of this system is that it forces you to choose, so more strategy comes in.
Fadebeast Tooth Necklace you could unequip for almost the entire month. If you had trouble remembering to equip it near the end, perhaps somebody could make a thread where they post reminders or something.
There are lots of relics that are similar to these two.

Personally, I love the idea. It’s going to be a pain, especially with my plenthora of characters, but I love, love the idea of customizing to fit the needs. I did it a lot in WoW. I had two bags on hand and in the bank that held different sets.
