Nah, there's a reason we're not letting people play as both the human and the vampire. A few reasons really. The idea is they can't control the vampire side, and it's to reflect that. Plus we need to avoid them getting a benefit from being cured, or everyone will opt for it. It's a choice with a huuuuuge drawback and no real benefit, but letting them play as both would be an advantage in many ways.

Plus, * isn't supposed to work on grid names.

What if you were to create it as sort of like a thrall account and have it gifted to another player when roleplayed and controlled, David? Like July (S)? Considering your entire idea for this is to be roleplayed, anyway, and to have people collaborate, it’d be interesting to see how the players work together to cause some mayhem for their main account.

Because what's stopping anyone from rping a sane, shade? Is essentially the problem he's getting at. Then there's no risk or drawback.

To be fair I'd probably only gift it to someone like Pi, who's no longer around properly. If I couldn't play it myself but there's supposed to be confusion -- even between the human and the shade -- about who's the real one, whoever played the shade would have to know all his history and the subtle nuances of his personality. He's my first character and my most complex. And David's not said I can't RP the shade, I'm just unable to have an account for him. Is what I thought?

Yes. But your human account can have consequences, potentially. No, most definitely, because lan is being attacked by his shade. If I ran a shade, I could choose to be nice to my human other half. You don't get that choice, is my point.

*Can RP the shade. I think that was a typo.

Yeah, the original idea won't work in any way. I got excited and posted it before thinking it through. Shades will have to remain RPed only.

What? I'm confused now. You've not said I can RP the shade? So I can't RP the shade?
