"Yeah, I don't think I'd have been too pleased if you took it upon yourself to clean me up while I was unconscious." She'd have been livid to be honest. It would have been a gross thing. "So where exactly do I clean up then? Do you have a change of clothes?" The blonde didn't have anything here. She listened to the male speak and nodded some.

So now she was a better version of herself? It seemed legit, she supposed.

"Trust me, I only aim to please." The blonde winked at him.

Finally, Blair followed him to the bathroom where she was going to be able to clean herself up. Blair wasn't very self aware of herself or her looks. She also didn't care who saw her. She had to be very open growing up in training. So before Cedric even had a chance to leave the bathroom, she was undressing. She discarded the dirty clothes and stepped into the shower, after turning on the hot water.

She didn't actually care left or not, she was more focused on cleaning herself up. It wasn't long before the blonde was out of the shower, dried and cleaned up. She re-emerged sometime later and looked to Cedric. "Ready?"

A change of clothes was requested, and Cedric very nearly could not provide. Though he did lead Blair to the bathroom it was only to show her the way; he’d left long before she started to get undressed. Cedric was a good many things but he was not an uncertain man. He was not awkward. There was no reason to hang around the bathroom.

While the shower ran he wandered through the rooms. This was not Cedric’s first rodeo. Several women had been sired before this one, and all of them had had their stint in this very apartment, at least until they were on their feet. And there, in the closet of the spare bedroom, he did find an outfit. It was in one of those plastic clothes bags as if it had been brought back from the dry cleaners. Abandoned, or left behind on purpose? It didn’t matter. One of them had left it behind and they hadn’t come looking for it, so now it would be reclaimed, given away. Cedric hung the bag over the door before he meandered back to the main living space; with his phone in hand, he perched on the edge of the couch while he waited.

Cedric himself had showered and changed while Blair was sleeping off the turn; now he was dressed casually, rather than in a suit. He wouldn’t be working tonight – at least, he didn’t think he would be. When Blair emerged, she was dressed in the outfit he’d left. It fit her like a glove, it seemed, like it was meant for her. He wondered whose it was, who had left it behind. Who had the same figure as Blair? He didn’t think about it long. He straightened and stood.

”Ready,” he said.

”Blood, first,” he added, headed for the door and swiping his keys from the countertop as he passed it by. She had said she was hungry. She was an assassin by trade. Somehow, he didn’t think this was going to be an issue for her.

"Blood first, I suppose."

Blair's nose wrinkled up. She wasn't exactly keen on the idea of having to drink someone's blood. All in the name of getting revenge, she thought. That was going to be the only way to get her through this. Her assassin job was as good as gone once they found out what she had become. She'd have to find a job here. It looked like she was here to stay, or so it seemed. She wasn't exactly sure if Cedric would let her leave indefinitely.

She stepped out into the night and took in a breath of air. She didn't actually need it, but habits were going to be hard to break, especially that one since she had to breathe her whole life. Blair turned and looked to her now sire.

"So what do we do first? Hunt, right? Does it really have to be an innocent human? I'm not sure how keen on that I am. Yes, I killed people but they were bad people and mostly deserved it." She didn't ever kill someone that she thought was innocent.

That wasn't her style.

Cedric arched a brow and rubbed at his temple. This was different. He was normally hunting women, not taking one with him to hunt. And he never did stop to find out if they were innocent or not. He'd probably killed plenty of mothers or sisters or daughters, and he hadn't stopped to think about the people they were leaving behind, or how devastated they might be. It wouldn't be good for his mental health if he stopped to think about those things. He'd tried it once and he hadn't liked the path it led to. So he'd stopped. He almost laughed as he realised he was the kind of person Blair would like to snack on, if she were out for the kill. In fact, he did laugh. But it didn't last long.

"But what if I told you it can be anyone you want because you don't have to kill to get what you want?" he said. He'd started walking in a specific direction, toward the slums. Regardless of what he had to say, he kept Blair's specifications in mind. Walking was better than driving. It gave them more time to talk.

"There are reasons why I do what I do, and as far as I know those reasons don't extend to you. When you bite someone, you'll inject them with poison, for lack of a better word. It's not harmful to them, but the small dose will knock them out and they'll wake up none the wiser. Or I can show you where the black market shops are and you can live your life on blood bags. It's not satisfying, and I think you should at least know how to get it straight from the source. But the option is there..." he said, pushing his hands into his pockets. If anything positive could be said about Cedric Costello, he was thorough.

He was precisely the type that she would feed on. In fact, she had been sent to kill him. Her own selfish-ness and his will to not die had completely changed that situation. Here she was, a vampire. Something she had known that existed but hadn't really believed it. They had just been stories right? No, it was all true and now she was in a city full of them. The blonde followed behind Cedric, heading towards the slums of the city. That much she could tell in the change of scenery.

"You're saying that I don't actually have to kill someone?"

But didn't the blood lust take over? Would she be able to control it and not drain every last ounce from the body? This was news to her and she would have to work on it. He had also mentioned something about blood bags. That didn't sound appealing to her and her new found thirst that was in the back of her throat and belly.

"I think we should try the not killing way. If it becomes too much, then I will have to look into blood bags, but that just doesn't sound satisfying to me right now. What do you do? Do you drain people dry or do you only take as much as you need?" She would guess the first, but he wasn't as bad as he been portrayed to her, so she didn't really know. He hadn't killed her.

That had to be a start, right?

"My situation requires certain things..." he started, and trailed off. He shrugged. No, he didn't have to kill his victims. His 'food' didn't have to be the women he slept with, but they were going to die anyway. Two birds, one stone. It was an addiction he didn't have the willpower to resist, nor the want to try. And he couldn't have women tracking him down to demand he deal with their babies. No, better to kill them before the pregnancy has a chance to truly take hold.

"Things that I'm not willing to talk about," he said. It was a weakness, this curse, this addiction. And though Blair was now his childe, she was still a stranger. A stranger who'd been sent to kill him. Maybe he'd reveal his truest, darkest nature to her once they knew each other better. Or maybe he wouldn't.

"You don't need to know what I do in order to be successful yourself," he said. They were in the slums, now. There was a veritable buffet in front of them. There were pubs and crack houses, and alleys and abandoned buildings within which the homeless, or miscreants chose to sleep, or hide. "Now. Do you want to go into a crowded place and choose your prey, seduce them into some dark corner? Or do you want to go take it by force, where you're not going to be seen?" he asked. He'd not tell her how it was done. Everyone was different, and preferred their own way of hunting.

"Fine." That only irritated Blair more. What did he have to hide? For a moment, she was lost in her own thoughts. She should have just planned her attack better and killed the man before her. She didn't need to live forever, just long enough to find the people who had killed her parents. She didn't need vampirism to do it either. She had spared his life, couldn't that be some form of trust? She didn't exactly trust him either, since he had tried to kill her in turn. "I didn't kill you. That should show you some kind of trust, but suit yourself."

She wouldn't share her back story with him either. She didn't know if she could trust him, granted he hadn't killed her but whatever. She'd let it go, she was feeling hungry and that was what she wanted to focus on right now. "I don't feel like trying to be seductive right now. I don't think I'd be very good at that anyways. I also told you that I don't want to kill anybody or hurt anyone. So can this sheer force be done without hurting someone?"

From the looks around her, she could tell this was a seedy part of town. That didn't mean she wanted to kill anyone, even if they may deserve it.

This had to be unprecedented. A vampire who didn't want to kill.

Cedric laughed, the sound deep and melodious.

"My sire, her name is Castalia. You will meet her, eventually. She is also my lover. She knows more about me than anyone in this city -- and still, even she does not know everything. Do not think you are special. You didn't choose not to kill me -- you did not succeed. There is a difference," he said. It was a ludicrous suggestion, that he should trust the woman because... why? She wasn't currently trying to cut his head off? It would take far more than that to squeeze personal information out of Cedric Costello.

"You are a beautiful woman," he said, glancing sideways at Blair, gaze traveling the length of her body. Again, he reminded himself that she was his childe -- and that he would treat her like he was of her blood. Thinking that way slaughtered any arousal. "I do not think that you would have to do much in order to seduce a man. All it would take is a suggestion to go out back, a coy smile and you'd have him, hook line and sinker. But, if that is not your style... no. Sheer force will not hurt anyone. There is venom in your bite. If they suffer any pain they won't remember it. You'll leave them behind, dazed and confused, and they'll be none the wiser -- the bite healed. They'll merely feel like they have a hangover. It will barely last a day," he said, keeping his eyes ahead.

"That may be true." She referenced him calling her beautiful. "And sure I might not have to muster up all that much to get a man to come out here with me, however that isn't my style. You should be able to tell by now." The blonde raised her brows at the man. Her sire. So freaking weird. "I didn't seduce you, I went for brute force. Maybe I should have seduced you and this would be a different story now but I didn't know you had supernatural strength. Humans do not."

Blair took a look around. She was starving and this was going to need to be done fast or she felt like her throat just might burn her to death. "Can we stop with all the side talking and find somebody? I'm starving." The attitude would get her killed one day, she was sure of it. Maybe even by this man before her. Could vampires die? She'd have to ask after finding her meal.

Without any word from Cedric, she started walking further coming upon a group of bikers. Blair wrinkled her nose. She needed to eat, but did it have to be someone so gross? Maybe she'd have to talk to Cedric later about her preference of people that she drank from. 'Well looky what we have here, sweet thang' This forced an eye roll from the blonde. The three men stood and went to circle around her. Immediately, she was on the defense. 'You shouldn't be wondering these parts, blondie.' The goons all laughed and one started for her. She hoped Cedric handled the other two while she took on this third man. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." She said as the male reached out to grab at her waist. She grabbed his arm and pulled it back behind him, shoving him towards the side alley.

Cedric rolled his eyes, the blue hues turning skyward. They could go around and around in circles if he replied, so he bit his tongue. If she had seduced him? She’d be in bed drained of blood with a snapped neck. Though, no – the image didn’t quite match with her intentions. She wouldn’t have been in bed, but wherever she ended up she still would have been the one soon to be buried six feet under.

If she’d waited for Cedric to take the lead, she’d have been left on her own. Cedric did not coddle and nor was he going to find Blair’s meals for her. Tonight he was with her only to show her the ropes. Every night henceforth she would make her own decisions and live by her own choices, whatever they may be. If she got herself into trouble he would help if asked, but otherwise he allowed his progeny all the freedom and independence that they deserved. If the relationship was an amiable one than all the better. If not, then c’est le vie.

Blair did not wait, however, though Cedric suddenly wished she had. He’d suggested she find someone who was alone – or lure them someplace where they would not be seen. Instead, she antagonized a group of bikers and the Shadow was tempted to stand back and see how she fared. This situation she’d got herself into, with all her bravado – surely she could take all three down if she was as good as she said she was?

In fact, he gave into the temptation. Although he lingered nearby, pulling the shadows in close so that he remained out of sight and out of mind, he watched. He waited to see how Blair would cope on her own – and would step in if she needed the help. These men were not Cedric’s preference, and though he was sure he could sneak in behind them and slit their throats, he doubted he’d make a meal out of them. It would be wasteful.
