I poke my tongue out at Aliyah.
“What makes you think I can’t talk Ric down?”
I laugh as even the idea of that sounds ridiculous.
“Making up with him would be a whole lot more fun though, if you get what I mean. Oh wait… you do know what I mean, don’t ya.”
I wink at Ali and then take a sip of my drink. I’m not ashamed of the fact that Ric can make me scream with pleasure. Yes, I’m sure it’s not something his sister would want to know given the choice but if she hadn’t of come to complain that time we may never have worked out that we’re practically neighbours.

He had almost started to bring the cup to his lips, thought it probably didn't look like it had moved at all, but then it was out of his hands. Relief flooded over him and he did his best to express his gratitude non-verbally. Looking back to his sister, he did his best to calm the situation down.

"No reason for anyone to have worry about anyone else, see? Everything's worked out." Like a puppy looking for approval, his eyes darted between the three of them and he nodded, hoping to get a nod in return. As he did, the meaning of what Skylar said dawned on him, and his face burned red and any other words that he might have started to say evaporated from his mind.

It took only a moment to see Dhara take the cup from her brother and down the contents within. A small twitch of her lips was the only sign she approved of her friend's actions, but she had to wonder how the woman was going to feel afterwards. Dhara didn't drink, and the number of times she had could be counted on one hand. "How did that taste, D?" she teased with a shake of her head.

Her gaze shifted to Nate and Skylar, his burning face enough to clue her in to fact he understand the woman's statement. Her own images were full frontal, and she shuddered. "Sky...can we not corrupt Nate on his first meeting with you?" she said, patting the poor boy's shoulder. It was one thing to talk about her sex life, but the fact it meant Ric's, too, was what caused both siblings to get disturbed.

“Pfft. I don’t plan on going anywhere so he may as well get used to me the way I am. Besides, corrupting people’s half the fun. I’ve cracked tougher nuts than that one.”
I thumb in Nate’s direction.
“You’re brother being one of them, though to be fair he’s still kinda a work in progress. Still, you gotta love him right?”
I look to the faces of those around me. I know people think I’m nuts because of how I feel for Ric but that’s their issue not mine. I know what I see in him and he’s kinda, sorta perfect; in my eyes.
“ ‘Kay, ‘kay. I’ll cool it with the sex talk. With talking of Ricky point blank actually. Oh hey, you sticking around to watch me play? We’re only playing three songs but that’s cool right? Playing an event like this.”

She caught Nate's look and flashed him a smile and a wink. She could tell, in that intuitive way of hers, that he was nervous. And Ali she could read like a book so she didn't miss the small twitch of her lips. She blinked a little, feeling slightly fuzzy. "It tasted... well terrible." She said honestly. Her nose crinkled and she wondered how she would get the lingering after taste to go away. "And if Skylar keeps talking about sex with Ric, you all will see that liquid again." It was half jest and then her attention was instantly redirected by the woman's words. "I did not know you were in a band." She said, blinking again. Yeah, taking that drink was a really bad idea. Luckily she was with Ali and knew no harm would come to her.

“Terrible? Excuse me.”
I pull my drink defensively to my chest and cover it with my other hand as if protecting it from her.
“Don’t you listen, you taste great.”
I’m looking down at my drink as I say that but I can’t keep a straight face and start to laugh.
“God I can drink whiskey neat at times. Well, you know, you’ve seen me. At least this lot is watered down with coke. I can’t rightly go on stage pissed off my nut now can I? Well I can, I just won’t be selling the band the way I should? And wow… You didn’t know I was in a band? What the **** have I been taking about when I come over? Music is my life. Well music, metal and he who shall not be named.”
I’m talking about Ric, of course.

She couldn't help but crack up laughing at Skylar's actions. Perhaps the whisky made it funnier than it was. She was such a light weight. With a slow blink and a sigh, she focused on Skylar as she talked. "Voldemort?" She teased. She knew perfectly well the woman was referring to Ric but she couldn't help the lame joke. This is why she didn't drink. She was dorky enough with out booze, why add fuel to the fire?

Her gaze shifted between the two women, her eyebrows raising up in question. This was the sort of situation that told you just how drunk people really were. The fact that Dhara had only had one in total made the situation a bit more hilarious than it should have been. The woman was such a lightweight, it shouldn't have been funny. In the far reaches of her mind, Ali wondered if she would need to escort Dhara home.

Rather than ask outright, she looked at her brother and then the two woman once more and smiled. "You guys are all too much, you know that?" she asked, wrapping her arms around Sky and Dhara's shoulders. They meant the word to her.

I don’t know why it bugs me but it does. How could I someone I see on a weekly basis not know about my band? How as that possible. Then it hits me.
“I talk about him too much don’t I?”
I look between Ali and Dhara. I already kinda know the answer but I ask the question anyway.
“I’ve become one of those girly girls that can only talk about her man haven’t I? ****!”
I facepalm, rather dramatically.
“Just take me out back and shoot me now. No wait. Not now. After I’ve been on stage. I can’t let the guys down. Then tell you know who, you had to put me out of my misery. I bet he’ll love that.”
I roll my eyes at my pathetic behaviour. Men! Why do they do this to us? And more importantly; why do we let them do it?

He tried to make light of his uncomfortableness but the way his voice cracked made it clear that he was relying on false bravado. "I don't think I'm gonna be cracking anytime soon." As soon as he found out that one of the girl's was in a band that was playing here, he was star struck. He knew that local bands played at stuff like this but he had never met someone that actually had. And she was his brother's girl friend. That made them almost friends. "Wow, that is so cool. When do you go on? What kind of stuff do y'all play?"
