So many years of being essentially on her own had given Deirdre a way to train herself to be able to take just about anything in stride. She knew it was unnerving for some people, but, with enough practice and experience of being around her, they usually ended up accepting that it was just part of who she was. She could stomach dead bodies with little to no discomfort, though that was something she hardly ever shared with those around her. It was second nature, something she was sure would come in handy now. After all, her own body was dead.
She hadn't meant to come off as accusing, or rude. She had honestly been curious, and his answer seemed to satisfy her curiosity - for now, at least. She would probably end up having more questions later on, but for now, she was perfectly fine. This would certainly take getting used to, but she was definitely all right. She didn't feel as easily distracted as she'd always believed a newborn vampire would be.
"Some people might be completely offended by that series of statements. Me, though...I know it's true. Next to no one would miss me. The only person who would is Mr. Williamson, and I can probably get away with just calling him and letting him know I've decided to move up here permanently." Deirdre laughed for a moment, glancing at her fingernails curiously before easily adding, "Do you think I'll need to go through the legal channels to be a citizen, or would that be stupid?"
Then she remembered leaving her suitcase, hat, jackets, and scarves upstairs, and her severe lacking of her full makeup kit and wardrobe.
"Looks like I'll be staying more than a couple nights here," she said, half sarcastic. "I should call Mr. Williamson about haing him clear out my apartment. I gave him a spare key years ago."
