Turning her attention back to the computer, she set up one of her automated scripts to scan the remaining files for certain keywords. ”Lita, come over here and watch this. Let me know via text if anything pops up on this search. But, don’t touch the computer at all.” She hoped to be back before it stopped but who knew what kind of disaster was about to occur in the warehouse. After everything she had seen over the years, she was a firm follower of the adage about preparing for the worst.
A quick thought later saw the red-head reappear in her bedroom. Unlocking the safe, she stepped inside to pull out her selections for the evening. She (almost) never left the house unarmed but knew she’d need her best for this as well as a couple backups. Being disarmed was not a position she ever wanted to find herself in, so she tended to take precautions against it. It took several minutes to get the holsters and sheaths with their accompanying weapons slid into place. Each had been carefully checked along the way to ensure sharp edges and full magazines. A quick twist of her locks was secured by her favorite pair of throwing knives before she slid some extra magazines in random hidden pockets.
One mental inventory later brought her back to the room she had left earlier where she quirked an eyebrow at the thrall currently sitting in front of the computer. While she had been serious about not touching the pc, she was fairly certain it wasn’t about to bite the woman seated before it despite the woman’s look of fear. ”Relax will you? Play a game on your phone if you want, but just make sure I hear if it finds anything.” Shaking her head, she concentrated on an alley she had seen on the map earlier when she had given out the address to the warehouse. Silently she appeared there and took stock of her surroundings. No one had spotted her which left her free to see if Every or the others had arrived in the area already.
