Absolutely. I know 4 hackers that found this intel, one being mine and the others shall rename nameless. Which is why I asked months ago to play the escaped test subject and was told no (which is cool and I get). No one else really stepped up to the plate to play her-to do so now seems unfair and overshadowing anything chloe and I have done. I think the premise is great, but there has been NOTHING ic for this.
Would there have been a christmas event from the mayor, knowing there was a rabid vampire slaughtering dozens of humans?
The crownet relations indicate things are positive-that would be not true.
NO headline news anywhere.
So, it seems unfair to go from point A to Z with no work in the middle rp wise.
Those are valid points, and if the idea
was to be used, to do something involving Subject-25, then yes. Completely, all of that would have to be taken into consideration. I guess, the point is, it's a little disappointing that it was brought up in the e-mail, and it was something that could have been used, something that, honestly, even a hacker could have found and done more information with - but it didn't get a chance to be flourished. Which, is fine, what's happening now makes up for it. >.>
Hell, honestly, one of my ideas was that subect-25 got kidnapped by a certain group and has been experimented on, etc, in secret. BUT, those are just ideas bouncing around.
I agree, though, I would hate to see Chloe's work as the cured vampire be undermined, as well as Gideon's.

Pretty much what Doc said.
Would Lancaster have taken the cure if he knew/suspected there was a worse vampire look alike on the outs?
Would Gideon? No, he would not have. Gideon wants to get the vampire out-not create a worse vampire that terrorizes people.
So the cure was won in sept. Lancaster was cured in/around December. If at any point there was speculation that the cure would make a worse vampire-the treatment would have been stopped by Gideon. He wants the vampire OUT/obliterated. Not transformed into something else/worse version of what they already are. Because-uh...that makes life worse for the human species. rofl. >.>
By the way, totally cool with the backlash, I'm just saying I feel there are some big loops atm rp wise, which is no one's fault at all. It's just missing some backstories for the last few months.

I understand the idea of this..
But Gideon's character has done a LOAD of work on this.. and it seems like bad form to me.. to do an end run around all Gideon's plots..to just suddenly have another one. He won the cure legitly.. and now have another shade show and steal his thunder?
Gideon has the cure. Nobody else has the cure. Other test subjects were given the treatment before it was stolen. None of that has changed. Those things have always been the case, as per the leaked emails back when the chapter was ongoing.

Nothing IC for this? Except the fact that the emails leaked during the chapter said subject 25 was out there.
"Would there have been a christmas event from the mayor, knowing there was a rabid vampire slaughtering dozens of humans?" No, as the shade might have been in the SR all this time, trying to escape. As Josh suggested.
This thread isn't about subject 25, who has always been out there, even before Gideon stole the cure. This thread is about the roleplay idea of Gideon giving the cure to an NPC, and having a player play the shade of said NPC.

That character worked hard to win, and then recruit a vampire to cure. MONTHS of rp.. went into it. Those two players/characters did massive work.
And then.. boom. There is suddenly another one.. NOW? It is a "FU" to all their hard work. Because.. the two characters involved, should have been privy to that 'other' shade from the beginning.. because it could have affected their RP. But they were not aware.
It makes me question, why should we even try to win chapter events, when there will be an 'end run' after the fact anyway?
The character worked hard to win the cure research. They won it. Nobody else has it. They worked hard to win KNOWING about subject 25.
They don't own shades, they own the cure.

Anyways, they would only play a shade right?
Only in rp?
So no grid shade?
What about the actual cured individual?
How would people hold anyone accountable, if they so chose to?

Well the original idea was for them to play the shade, and have the cured human be the NPC which doesn't get played. So yeah they'd be on grid as a normal vampire.

So, the vampire can be held accountable in this instance then? That's cool.
My only negative about that is...I think they should have to have the human account too. I mean, the humans that get cured have to take beatings from their own shade, and maybe other player characters-it seems sort of unfair on those who risk it all and get serious wounds from a bad *** vampire-when a vampire takes like 15-20 hits to 'kill' unlike a pc human.

That's very true, I hadn't thought about that.
Yeah in that case, disregard this thread. It's not possible to control both characters, as they are named the same. So this wouldn't work without grid side coding, and this was more of an RP idea. Didn't think it through enough.

Well, it could work...couldn't you just like give it a * or something behind the shade's name?
