Sounds a little hypocritical if you ask me.
And while thralls cannot deal with auctions themselves, there is no reason why they cannot be canonically (in roleplay) used to deliver items. After all, the buyers don't know who sold them the item, while the sellers do. Either put 100% transparency, or allow people to incorporate the auction into their roleplay as they see fit (selling to the auction house, having a thrall do the drop off, etc). And if you make it so that auction cannot be accessed from raids -- then make it just as hard for people to get their ritual ingredients as it is for those carrying too many to get rid of them. I sure as hell was glad to sell Mortll a load of zombie ears in one go that one time. Made space for firearm parts.

As for implementing a fee, I'm all for it. Maybe incorporate a tier system to make it fair. If someone puts a stored item at a lower price (to lose less in fees), they risk someone else buying it, so they might think twice about using it for storage. Alternatively, they price it really high with the intention that no one can buy it, then at least they've lost a sizeable %.... and could get reported, perhaps? That 99,999,999 is ridiculous...

I'm a bit iffy about the reporting, because I could see people misusing it. Say, a rare relic being priced at a decent price for most, but not them.
Lockbox
Can be placed in owned lairs / apartments.
Stores up to 200 items.
Buy with 20 karma
Another suggestion -- make lockboxes available for lots of IG cash ....since apparently so many people are drowning cash. Or you could offer a mid-range storing option for IG coin or less karma that people can use -- say a 50 item lockbox, or something. After all, you can buy land in game for ig cash, so you could potentially get yourself a place to keep your storage.

Well, if the character is in a raid, then thralls would have to fight their way through the raid in order to deliver the items. Same with the labyrinth. They'd need keys etc, they can't just saunter on down to the correct floor.

As for people drowning in IG cash, I think that will be less of a problem when there are uber relics for sale for ten million dollars, etc.

Fair point, I didn't consider that.... I mean, I've used thrall in solo raid and on a team without issue, but I haven't tried the labyrinth... I'm not drowning in enough cash for that... yet. What I was trying to argue though was that if there is to be a ban on auction access from within those spaces, then it should be as much for selling as it is for buying.

I'll keep an eye out on these uber relics you speak of. Definitely interesting to see new relics >.>

Yeah I agree it should affect both buying and selling.

In regard to relics: enchanting will make it possible to create new relics, and enchant weapons / clothing. When this happens the relics system will get a huge beef up, and new super rare relics and gear will be added to the game.

The OOC rort is about making inventory space, buying reduces inventory space, hence the uncertainty represented by the ???. On that OOC basis it shouldn't be hypocritical, but yes, certainly illogical IC.

I didn't exactly want to have to consider leaving the Tomb thing in order to buy one of the relics I still seek off the Auction. But then, that probably ain't gonna happen either, so not exactly fussed.
