Oscar watched with baited curiosity as Meara emptied the contents of her purse. Each item was examined, the possibilities of their usefulness considered in regards to helping them all make a choice. Was this the smartest way to go about things? He asked himself for the umpteenth time, and the answer was again steadily ignored.

Dave—a witness and now confidante—was the one who finally proffered the coin. Oscar was glad a coin was discovered; the whole concept of spinning a bottle and kissing the winner wasn’t one he wanted to test right now. Though he understood how his choice could be substituted. A coin toss seemed fairer, somehow. A pen could be manipulated. Though why should either of the women want to manipulate it? The result was the same for Oscar regardless. He would become a vampire. Whatever issues a manipulation might cause would be between the women. It would have nothing to do with him.

There was no hesitation from Kira as the coin was tossed, its silver façade glinting in the light as it turned, end over end. That was Oscar’s fate, hanging in the air. He was on a road and in front of him there was a fork in the path. Whatever side the coin landed on would determine which path he would take. They could both lead to the same place, eventually. Or they could lead to entirely different ends. Regardless, Oscar waited with breath equally as bated as his curiosity.

When the coin was caught he leaned forward, hardly able to contain his eagerness.

”What is it? Heads or tails?” he asked, glancing over to Meara then back to the coin, watching it like a hawk as if it might disappear if he took his eyes from it.

OOC: Whoever clicks the link needs to flip the coin and roleplay the result. :D

The woman's green eyes watched a coin be offered up, causing her to summarily dump all of her things back in her bag. She was glad someone else had one, as she never carried physical money. The young woman's thoughts raced as she saw the coin tumble through the air. Meara couldn't imagine leaving a decision as serious as who one's maker would be to luck. But she had to remember this wasn't her impulsive decision to make, even if she was facilitating it. She did hope that she would get to explore this role in someones life, but she had to but her faith in the universe for now that it would have the outcome that was meant for her.

The coin bounced on the carpet and rolled over near Meara's boot covered feet. She bent at the wait and looked down at the floor. Much to her surprise, there was a tails side of the coin facing her. "I see what appears to be a English crest with lions and a shield. I suppose since this is Canada, that makes sense. So it is tails." Her green eyes looked over to the man, then to Kira, then back to Oscar. "I guess that means you will make him?" She really didn't know what to say to the blonde. For right now. Congratulations didn't seem like the right manner of speaking when it came to a person's life. Her green eyes came back to settle on Oscar. She was hopeful that even if she didn't create this one, he would know she had a friend in her.

"I'm sure I'll run into you again, shes always around Alex's place anyways." Meara gestured at Kira as she picked her wallet out of her purse. She flipped it open to retrieve a business card and reached forward to take Oscar's hand and press the paper into it. "If you never need anything, don't hesitate." Meara said with reassurance as she stepped back into her own space and finished putting her belongings away.

(This post has been edited after it was noticed that I interpreted the link wrong. Please know that the correct outcome is tails)

Kira watched the coin but didn't move to see what it was until it hit the ground and Meara spoke. Wait? Tails? She won the coin toss? She didn't expect to win it, most people went for heads so she just decided to go with tails instead. She had been okay with whatever outcome it was but she still didn't think she would be the one creating a new childe.

"Well Reggie is going to love knowing you gained a childe through a coin toss." Dave said with a snort, he went over to get his coin, "And hopefully Aden isn't an *** to his new brother."

Kira looked to him and narrowed her eyes. Reggie wasn't happy about her siring the last one, she was sure he wasn't going to be happy with this one either. She wanted to have some kind of family so that meant siring so she wasn't sure what he expected her to do. She had ended up with childer in all sorts of odd ways, this one was new.

Make him? This felt a little awkward. She wasn't sure if the coin toss had gone the other way if congrats was in order, this was a person's life they were talking about.

She nodded, "Very true." she said about being sure they would all meet again since Alex and her were close. They really needed a get together though.

"Ah so, Oscar, would you like to get started? There's bags of blood here for after you've turned. I don't offer up feeding on humans like Dave here until hungry is under control. Sometimes people can get carried away." Kira said.

"Wait, what? Now I have to play blood doll?" Dave replied bitterly.

"If not to him then to me, settle down." Kira muttered, she knew Dave had a problem feeding other people, though she suspected he didn't like feeding males.

Blood! Yes, he would have to drink blood. He remembered, now, and the mention of reminded him just how close he was to tasting blood. Not his own, as one does when they give themselves a papercut, but someone else’s. Kira’s, first, then someone whom he’s never met. Someone who’d given up their blood to save someone but instead had had their blood stolen to feed a vampire. It was still saving someone, right? Someone who might starve, otherwise.

Oscar stood, still beaming. Two people were mentioned—Reggie and Aden—both who could be potential threats. A glance was spared for Meara, a wonder whether she had any people in her life who could be possible threats, but the thought was dismissed. The coin had been tossed and now he would follow the path it had dictated.

”I will not be a problem. If you do not wish that I feed from you, then I will take the blood bags. It’s not a problem,” he said to Dave, the picture of serenity. How could people dislike him before they even knew him? But that was the way of the world, wasn’t it? People were told not to judge books by their covers, but they did it anyway. It was instinct. Even Oscar was prone to judging before knowing.

”I am ready. Should I sit or stand?” he asked. Sitting, he assumed, might be ideal. If he was about to die, he would become a dead weight. Common sense would be to sit down to cause less of a hassle when he lost the ability to keep himself standing. He turned to Meara. ”Are you hungry? You can help, if you want. Or can it only be the sire who drains the blood?” he asked, glancing between them.

Meara shook her head as her slender hands wound into her pockets. "I ate earlier this evening." A slight shrug of her shoulders was given, as what was about to leave her lips might make her seem a poor candidate for being a vampire. "I struggle to feed from living beings as I wouldn't eat animals before I became what I am now. Even though you are willing I don't think its a proper idea for me to participate in the turning. My memory of my own experience suggests it is a delicate process and I shouldn't interfere."

Blue eyes wandered back and forth between those gathered before giving the group an easy smile. "But I'll leave you to it. Try not to get blood where the customers might see, yeah? I'll be by later to lock up." With that Meara gave a bit of a curtsy and turned to leave the shop and head back to the apartment for a little while.

Kira was glad to hear that blood bags wouldn't be a problem. Sometimes when people are turned it's always fresh human blood and nothing else. Blood was blood to her, she only needed to 'live'. Of course, she had ran into human blood that tasted better than others.

She blinked when he asked if he should stand or sit, "Sitting would be better...you might get light-headed from lack of blood or pass out." she said. She looked to Meara when he asked if she was hungry, it didn't really matter who drained the blood. She felt kind of bad that she felt like she had to leave, siring is kind of an intimate process when done like this. She had a few who were a complete accident when she was trying to kill them. She was thankful she is less wild than she was before.

She respected what Meara said. Kira didn't eat much when she was human, and meat wasn't something the shelter really had a lot on hand. Though if she was going to have a nice meal, she wanted meat.

Kira looked around, try not to get blood where it could be seen? She wasn't a messy eater and hopefully, her own blood wouldn't be dropping to the floor. She could have just taken him to her own shop, it was literally next door from Alex's. Though she didn't keep blood bags there. She got a few, making a note of how much cash to give Alex when the store was open or just replace the bags with others.

She set the bags down on a table. "Alright Oscar, you ready?" she asked, pulling up a chair near the table.

Oscar started to wonder whether he should be more awkward, a little more sensitive to the situation. Meara suggested that a siring was delicate and Oscar was affronted; he hadn’t wished to make either of them feel dismissed, but there was no stopping Meara. He assumed, given all the previous conversation, that he would see Meara again. He hoped so. She seemed an optimistic sort, and one should not be short of optimism in their lives.

Kira disappeared soon after Meara, though she wasn’t gone long. She soon returned with bags full of crimson liquid; they sloshed, soft and pliable. Oscar’s sharp gaze watched as they were placed on the table. Kira asked if he was ready and he nodded, taking a seat near Keara at the table.

Should he have been so calm? Probably not. And maybe he wasn’t as calm as he thought he was, his bright eyes wide and his unable to find a comfortable place to rest. Eventually, his feet planted upon the ground and his hands upon the flat surface of the table, he cleared his throat.

”I am ready,” he said. ”Is the wrist easiest for you, or would you prefer the neck?” he asked, lifting his chin to reveal more of the arch.

Kira stared at him for a moment, he seemed calm but now his eyes were wide. If his heart was racing, his blood would be pumped out faster, making for a quicker 'death'. "Everyone's turning is different so I can't really tell you what to expect." she said. She had never taken blood from someone's wrist before, it had always been the neck. There was the carotid artery, it was the prime place to take blood from.

"The neck would be easier..." she said, "I will be offering you my wrist though after I cut myself." she said, his neck was exposed, she took that cue and came closer. She lowered her head, leaning down. She couldn't hide her fangs so they were at the ready as she opened her mouth and pierced his flesh. She took in his blood, waiting for the time that he was close to death before letting up. She quickly took out a dagger that was hidden in her sleeve. She cut open her wrist and held it to his mouth. "Time to drink." she said. She hoped Reggie wouldn't be upset with her creating another childe but she hoped to have some kind of family one day.

Oscar wasn’t sure where to put his hands; whether Kira was a woman of fastidiousness or whether she thought she ought to make this quick -- like ripping off a bandaid -- it didn’t matter. One second Oscar was wondering where to put his hands and the next he flailed and had no choice. Well, it wasn’t that he didn’t have a choice, but he was far too distracted by the fangs in his neck to care whether his hands were in an appropriate place.

One arm draped loosely around Kira’s torso, though when his fingers curled into the cloth of her attire they were too numb for the grip to register. His body was telling him to struggle, to pull back, to push the blonde away. It was the fight or flight response. He had to stop concentrating on the pain in his neck and the ache that had taken up residence in all his veins to wrangle with his natural instinct. He was dying. He was doing to die. This was his choice. His bright blues squeezed shut until the thought of fighting or struggling was moot. He didn’t have the strength to do either. Instead, he struggled to stay awake and conscious, the darkness creeping in at the edges of his vision.

When Kira spoke it was muffled, like someone had shoved cotton wool in his ears. But he understood what she was saying; he understood it more when he tasted the thick, foreign substance upon his tongue. His tongue flicked at the wound before his lips clamped over it. It was an unpleasant thing to be doing, unnatural, but Oscar again reminded himself it’s what he had asked for. He thought about the future. He thought about time, and how he would no longer be a part of it. And he drank until he had some of his strength back; he drank until he could grasp at the wrist offered to him.

The thought of the future filled him with greed.

Every turning was different. Sometimes she was trying to kill the man, or save them. Rarely did one just want the gift, she wonder how many people came here after finding out vampires were real and decided to try to find someone to turn them. At least this one didn't seem like an asshole like some of the other ones she ended up with.

Kira wasn't sure what he was doing with his arms and hands, she suppose this might be a bit awkward. She felt him grip her clothes, she thought his body would be telling him to fight. It was the proper response. She could tell when his body was too weak to fight, then as he drank her blood, the strength returning, gripping her wrist. She wondered what Path he was going to be. She ended up with a lot of killers, but he didn't fit that path. Of course she didn't fit her own path.

She was sure he had enough blood in him to turn him, she pulled her wrist away. "That's enough." she said, getting one's wrist back sometimes was a problem, that need for blood kicks in. Once she wrestled her wrist free, she opened a blood bag and handed it to him.

She took a paper towel and wiped her wrist clean, the wound healing. Her looked around the floor, making sure she hadn't dripped on Alex's nice clean floor. Which reminded her that Nimmy had worked cleaning here. Her next step to finding out if he's at that nut house was to send in her wraith to check all the rooms.

Kira looked up, coming back to the now. "So...how you feeling?" she asked, she wasn't sure what to say. "Any...questions you have?" she asked.
