The killer stood alone, ripples of motion rolling over the male’s massive musculature. Silent laughter still shook his frame as he considered the hysterical reaction of his titian haired friend to the miniscule arachnid that nimbly wandered the expanse of his palm. A vampyric example of arachnophobia that he had never thought to see exhibited by the fearless red head that had mentored him as a fledgling. She was afraid of spiders. Spiders. Mordechai shook his head as he wandered the freezer policing the brass that had been spread around the floor during the brief fire fight. The scene had to be sanitized before the human authorities arrived. Regardless of the news, regardless of the rumors, the killer refused to believe that humans would ever accept vampires in their midst. No evidence would be left that associated him nor his with the warzone in the back of the coffeeshop.

One last glance about showed all was clear. All but corpse of his last meal. He had heard her slowing pulse stop as the damaged heart beat its last, leaving one last piece of offal to dispose of. Mordechai reached down, one hand extending to grasp the slender throat of the corpse, when he paused, head cocked. A small sob escaped the corpse. There was no heartbeat, yet it cried. “No” he whispered. Another sob broke from the broken body as it slowly pulled into a fetal position. The face of the woman was covered in blood and brains. The hapless gangster’s. Her own, …. and Prudence’s. Again the word slipped from his mouth, “No”. The male closed his eyes as he let slip the limits of his immortal mind and his conscious thought reached out to the mind of woman on the floor. She was turned. She was an allurist. She was Pru’s. What more could go wrong this night. Prudence had left without even telling him why he was there in the first place, and now here he was, stuck with the aftermath, with this. With her…

Mordechai had ignored the text from the red head, but this, this was not on him. Scooping the mewling body up, he stepped from the back door. A quick glance showed they were alone, and with a burst of speed they were gone, speeding through the city faster than a human eye could focus, invisible. The north. He headed north, finally stopping behind the abandoned mansion where it had all started, he laid the woman gently on the last of the seasons soft grass. Raising his head he stared into the city. The air shimmered in front of him, coalescing into the tall female killer that had run fron him, from the arachnid. Growling he pointed down. “She is yours, another of them….”

A long time ago, Mordie had been new to the city, when Prudence had been around a while. His solitary, abrupt nature hadn't made for many friends, but Prudence didn't mind abrupt. Heck, lots of people considered her abrupt and a lot of other things. Prudence favored people that were a lot like her; someone once said that everyone knew how they stood with the redheaded woman. She was honest, and didn't ever bite her tongue on the things that mattered the most.

Things change with time. While Mordie was still pretty quiet, his abruptness had faded over time and he seemed to follow the 'collect more flies with sugar' philosophy. Not only that, but Prudence was well aware that he surpassed her abilities in everything. He never gloated about it, or even brought it up, but she knew. So it was no surprise that he had not only tracked her down, but caught up to her in a matter of seconds. And with him was the girl from the restaurant. "Woah. What the f-" She started off, not believing Mordie would be carrying around some corpse of a thing with him. Mordie wasn't that strange and weird.

Then he said the unexpected and Prudence looked down at the woman that was placed on the ground. A booted foot softly kicked at the shoulder of the woman, attempting to stir her before she groaned. "Awww, ****!" She shook her head, then made a grunting noise. This had not been in her plans for tonight, but then again, neither was being taken hostage and involving Mordie in anything with her or that crazy *** place. Prudence pulled her foot back, and crossed her arms, still glaring down at the woman. "Well, **** me." She grumped before kneeling down and shaking the woman. "Hey! Yo! Dead girl." Prudence snapped her fingers, wondering how long it would be before she was fully transitioned. Everyone seemed to take different time frames and go through the experience different than the last. Intentional or not.

Maybe Emerson had been wrong after all. Her judgement, as a side effect of dying, had been a bit off. Maybe there really was a God, and maybe she wasn’t as good of a person as she had made herself up to be. She had to have been in Hell. Every inch of her body, from her skin all the way down to her bones, was on fire. She decided that the pain that consumed her could have only been that caused by devilish flames. She burned, silently crying, silently transforming. Her injuries were healing, but it felt as if she were charring, slowly, to end as nothing more than a pile of ash. She shut her eyes and tried to push it all far, far away - the pain, the unknown, the growing image of a man fueled with such anger and rage that she could only identify him as Satan himself.

In her mind, the Devil was reaching for her with sharp, curled long claws, scratching at the surface of her skin. His touch burned, sent lightning strikes down her spine, and all she could do was take the pain. In reality, it was only the tall man holding her, running with her, bringing her somewhere new. Somewhere better? Anywhere was better than where she was then. Anything was better than the fiery licks of pain. She felt herself being set down carefully. The ground beneath her was soft, enough so to snuff out some of the flames. Smoke seemed to curl from her body and filled her lungs, her throat, her mouth. She coughed, once, but it came out like a sob. When the smoke cleared and the burning began to dull, the young brunette decided it was safe enough to open her eyes. The first thing she saw was the night sky. It was cloudy that night. She squinted, trying to find the stars.

Something, then, came to poke at her shoulder. With a quick glance, she saw a boot. A black boot that was somehow familiar. But how, exactly? Trying to think about it was like oxygen, and it coaxed the flames back to life, so she stopped thinking. The boot was retracted soon after, anyways. It didn’t matter anymore. Emerson decided that she didn’t have to think about it if it wasn’t there, just like she didn’t have to think about her name or where she was or anything, anything at all, but the stars. Where were they? The brightest one should’ve shone through the clouds in even the slightest glint. But it didn’t.

Something, then, came in the view of her sky. Or, rather, someone, with red hair and snapping fingers and… Dead girl? Emerson wasn’t dead. She didn’t think she was, and she certainly didn’t feel like she was, either. If she was dead, how could she see and hear and think and feel all this aching, aching pain? The possibility of being in Hell returned. If it were meant to be a place of suffering, it was true to its word. Emerson tried to look past the woman to find the brightest star. The North star, she realized. The star that always brought you home. And there wasn’t a trace of it in the night sky.

Scrunching her eyebrows, the brunette gave up and gave in to turning her attention to the woman. Emerson didn’t know her. She didn’t think she did. There was something poking at the back of her brain telling her otherwise, but it was too far back to reach. And so, she did the only thing that felt right. “M’sorry,” she mumbled. Her voice was alien in her ears, loud and soft all at once. All of a sudden, she felt like crying. Something had to have been her fault. Why else would she feel so inclined to apologize? “I don’t remember-” she started, but her body began to burn all over and she shook her head. “Hurts. Everything hurts. Please,” she begged again, completely, completely helpless.

Mordechai watched the two women for a moment than leaned forward, his broad shoulders eclipsing the night sky, enveloping the women in shadow. He watched silently for a moment, then knelt down beside the fledgling allurist. Slowly he reached out, placing one brobdingnagian hand in the center of the woman's chest pressing her flat to the ground, closing his eyes, he paused a moment then turned his head, ebon eyes seeking Pru's pale countenance. "The hunger, it will be upon her, the burning of the hunger." Looking back at the woman beneath his hand he growled quietly, "Still. Be still" Reaching with in himself Mordechai drew on the powers he had learned long ago. Once, twice, thrice. Four times the killer drew from his inner strength fortifying the woman has his power multiplied the blood cells with in her. Eyes remained closed as his strength drained out, from him to her. "Feed, she will need to feed. I cannot fill her, but I can take the edge from her hunger, it is done."

Standing once more, he shook his head, speaking to himself more than anyone else, "Another ******* allurist, this city is doomed"

It moved. She moved. Prudence put a finger on her nose and looked at Mordie. "Not it." She said with a cackle before the redhead sighed and then groaned. Of all the rotten luck in the world. Siring wasn't something she did a whole heck of a lot of, but when Prudence did sire, she wanted to sire. It wasn't, or never went down like this. The redhead rolled her eyes as Mordie mentioned something about the new one being an allurist, like almost all her mini's were and Prudence groaned again. Before she struck an elbow into Mordie's side.

"Says the dude who is wetting his stick IN an Allurist." She shook her head and then looked at Emerson. "Uh, hey. Hold still for a second." Not that she could do much movie, not with Mordie's big, vampire man hands on her and his extreme brute strength. Her right hand came to rest on Emerson's shoulder as Prudence began to talk and assist her with the blood loss she suffered less than an hour ago. "That's Mordie and I'm Prudence. Pru for short. I like Pru. Pru's better." She nodded her head, flashing her fangs at the woman. "You see, something crazy sort of happened to ya tonight. You...maaaaay have died. No, you totally died, but you're not completely dead anymore. So, win! Right?" Prudence looked at Mordie for some sort of assistance on explaining this **** storm of ****, before the redhead shook her head. "Somehow, my blood sort of got ingested by you before you died, so now, you're like us." Prudence said as her hand pushed down tighter onto the woman's shoulder, surging another boost of blood inside of her. "You're sort of a vampire." Prudence said even quieter as her tongue flicked over the tip of her left fang, as if emphasizing that the woman was in fact the same thing Prudence was, and that Prudence wasn't bat **** crazy. That she was really a vampire. "And you're an Allurist, I guess. But we can talk about that all later. Sorry you died." She added for good measure, because what else could be said or done about it? Not a ******* thing.

Emerson didn’t want the hands of strangers on her, holding her in place and making her feel so small, but she had little choice in the matter. The strength that held her down took her by such surprise that all she could do was squeak. What little energy course through her veins would not be wasted in trying to fight either of them off, so she laid in the grass and closed her eyes as another surge of flaming pain sparked over her whole being. There was an exchange between the man and the woman the Emerson either didn’t understand or couldn’t comprehend. Her hearing, although abnormally strong in its sense, flickered in and out of focus as the pain did.

Mordie. Prudence - Pru. The names meant nothing to her, did nothing to help the girl identify who the two people were. What they were. Not until the redheaded woman gave her a grin that displayed two particularly sharp teeth and she said something, something, something, vampire. The pain was dulling, slowly but surely, with each surge from the man and squeeze from the woman. It still remained, but was bearable. Her ability to focus and listen became clearer, and this time when the woman’s mouth moved, sound came out. Words were formed: dead, vampire, sorry. Oh. Her too? Emerson scrunched her eyebrows. It all could have been a joke or a prank or a lie but what else did she have to believe in? There was a hidden seriousness in Prudence’s tone that Emerson, for some reason, chose to trust.

So, she was a vampire. An Allurist, whatever that meant. And she was dead. But, then again, technically not. The information was a bit too much for the brunette to handle and she stayed quiet for a long, long time. She tried to think up a name or a story that matched her own, but her mind was drawing to the blank. Only then could the young girl realize where the source of her remaining pain was. It was not a knotting hunger, one that once overwhelmed her stomach and her throat. No, this was something sharp, something prickly, something from an impact at the base of her skull. She tried to reach back and touch the spot, lifting her head up off the ground to feel the skin underneath her thick hair. When she pulled away, her fingers came back covered in blood. Or, they already were, like the rest of her was, too.

“Hit my head?” she asked quietly, looking between Mordie and Pru and back again. One of them could give her an answer. They had to. Right? Before either of them got the chance to respond, there was a choking sound in the back of her throat as Emerson ran a hand over her face in sudden, terrifying realization. “I-I don’t remember anything.”

The killer watched silently as Ptu added to the blood he had already provided, before standing back up, a roll of is shoulder stretching cramped muscles. Pointing down at the supine female his lips parted as his gravely voice once more slipped from the laconic male. "It would be better for you to make her into a DD then a CC." His thoughts drifted first to the troublesome allurist that had been one of Pru's first attempts at repopulating the world with children of the night. An effort that had been unrewarded in the long run. A small smile graced his lips though as his thoughts wandered to his kennedy. Her lithe body was probably at this very moment curled before her crafting bench, churning out one high quality firearm after another. Mmmmm. Squatting down once more, his eyes roved over the woman, taking in her body, her build, her attitude, and aptitude. "Your life, as it was, is over. Your friends, family, gone. That life, live as you knew it, is gone. This, this is your new life, a new beginning, make what you will of it. Choose right, and you can count on our help, our protection. Choose wrong..." The monolithic shoulders shrugged one time. "I will hunt you like any other cur." Aslight smile quirked his lips as he rose and stepped back.

Bright blue eyes stayed on the brunette woman, and never swayed from Mordie. Prudence knew she was in good company with the guy, so really, her new mini needed her attention more than a friend for just about five years now? Prudence would have to think about how long they've actually known the other. Might be a little longer than that. Another time, though.

Prudence looked down at the ground when the woman asked about hitting her head, her hand red with blood when it was pulled away from the back of it. "Uhhh...Well, there might have been an accident when you were dead. Something to do with a, uhhh....really big, uhhhh, thing. Sorry." Prudence said with no real facial expression that indicated any form of remorse, but her tone hinted that she might very well be sorry. Only because she was now one of hers.

Finally, Prudence did give Mordie her attention when there was the mention of CC. Her eyes narrowed and her tone remained flat. "Somewhere in the middle would be cool, too." Prudence adored DD, but the woman would never have the temperament that Prudence and DD had. The galls to back up any venomous words with a punch or a kick. Prudence learned years ago that the world had all sorts of people to make it orbit around, but maybe one day she could find someone that had raw strength in more ways than one.

"Anyways, so, do you, like....remember anything? Family? Friends? Your name? I mean, ya kinda know ours and what ya are now. I'd like to know what to call ya, unless ya just don't care one way or another. Then I'll think of something that suits ya."
Prudence cackled, running through a list of nicknames she could give the woman-one that didn't sound like it resembled a bra size. Even DD liked to be called Kennedy these nights.

“Accident?” Emerson squeaked, almost before Prudence had finished speaking. Green eyes looked up at the redhead through the gaps of her fingers. An accident could’ve referred to a lot of different things, then - an innocent slip and fall, a not so innocent push and shove, turning an absolute stranger into a vampire. All accidents, apparently. It was weird to grasp that one of those accidents was what had happened to her, what would become her life. Emerson never really believed in supernatural stuff and she still felt like as much as she could remember what being human felt like. But what else was there to believe in? If not for Prudence and Mordie, the girl would be completely, completely lost.

The hand that ran over Emerson’s face fell by her side, fingers threading through the grass. With both hands planted on the ground, she pushed herself to sit up with a bit more effort than needed for such an action. Laying down at that point just made her feel silly, and she was surprisingly feeling a whole lot better - physically, at least. The male’s words churned something in Emerson that wasn’t quite right, but she listened carefully and took a few moments to process everything before she nodded slowly. She didn’t doubt his words for a second and knew that he could and would hunt her, as he’d said. “I think I always try to make the right choices,” she said. “Help and protection would be… Good,” she decided, a dull pulse of pain interfering with using any better vocabulary. The girl winced, reaching up to rub at the source of her pain, which didn’t help much. Maybe she wasn’t as better physically as she’d thought.

There was an exchange between the man and the woman that Emerson wasn’t included in, but she watched it from the sidelines. Even if it had been meant to be private, it didn’t matter, because the brunette didn’t understand the context of their words. Attention was brought back to Prudence and Emerson tried her hardest to come up with some kind of response. Remembering family and friends seemed too sensitive of a topic, or something, as her body caught in flames at the thought of it. Instead, she tried to remember her name, the heels of her palms pressing against her forehead as her eyes shut and she tried to focus, blocking out the pain and the people and the craziness of the entire situation that was now her life.

It took a bit, but there was something sparking. “M…” she started, and then shook her head. That didn’t sound right. Not exactly, at least. She squeezed her eyes shut tighter, reaching into whatever memory she had left in that pretty little head of hers. “Em. Emer- Emerson!” That was it. It had to have been. It felt right. The girl’s eyes opened slowly, and her hands moved to push back her hair off her face. The strands felt matted as if they’d been dirtied by something. Blood, probably, she'd decided. Most of her skin seemed to be covered in it, and it made her frown. Her own blood? Someone elses? "My name’s Emerson,” she repeated with a nod, as if to reassure herself. “But if you wanna call me something else…” The girl shrugged her shoulders lightly. She wouldn’t have minded one way or another.

"My name’s Emerson,” she repeated with a nod, as if to reassure herself. “But if you wanna call me something else…”
A low rumbling chuckle rose from deep with in the massive killer's chest as he heard the hesitant words slip from the newborn fledgling's lips. His eyes roved over her, assessing her physically as he unobtrusively slid though her mind. There was potential. Potential that she would not go has so many others had. Not go astray, requiring that they be hunted and put down. The world had never seen as many rabid dogs, as it seemed Harper Rock had seen rabid fledglings. "Do not fear young one, I have yet to hear my friend call any by the name they were given by God and parents. She will indeed call you by whatever she wishes. Pru, I will help with this one if you so wish. You know my time spent in the castle draws dearly on my time anywhere else, but if she is in need, I will assist." Reaching down, Mordechai offered a bear sized paw to the woman "Stand, you are strong enough now. You are stronger than you ever have been. There is much you must learn, but it is not difficult. Among those things, you will need to learn some things that in your past life you may have thought you would never need. You will need martial training, and need to learn to use and carry weapons. Although you are now stronger and faster than a human, your enemies will be as well. This I can assist with, as well as your sire."
