It happened so fast that she barely even noticed it. One moment, she was walking away, and then the next, she was pressed against him.

She froze. Her mind went blank for a moment. There had to be some way to get free -

He had leaned over her, exasperation in his tone. She felt a light kiss on her forehead.

Okay, what the ****? She wasn't sure what to make of that. She'd thought he was planning to kill her -

When he released her, she scrambled back. Vienna stared at him, reluctantly letting her grip loosen on the sword. It wouldn't be any help, not if he could move like that. She stuck her hands in her pockets, fingers clutching at the edges of her pockets.

"Maybe because you just threatened me and grabbed me?" she told him. Her voice faltered at first, then gained strength. It wasn't what he was asking, but she'd be damned if she'd tell him about it.

She gave no answer to his question. God, he was full of himself. "What do you even want?" she asked. "If you're going to kill me, at least spare me the ******* lecture."

There was no chance she would make this easy, nor she was going to allow him to understand what it was that had so constant fiery, ready to fight and bring drama at the drop of the hat. He'd had enough.

"Whatever. I'm done, Vienna. You will allow me to take you home, ensure you get there safely and tomorrow I will have a contract brought over by my assistant for you to sign. Upon signature, you will receive a lump sum payment. You will be grateful, and you will NOT argue."

He sighed, grabbing for his keys and a jacket, shrugging it on in short, tense movements. "Learn some self-preservation, woman, and just come along." He ushered her out the door, not giving her opportunity to argue, to turn or run just pushing her out into the reception area and through the front door, shooing in the general direction of the car.

True to his word he would get her home safely, and he would send the contract.

He'd had enough of Vienna bloody Torres for one night.
