by Mordechai
Mordechai slipping quietly through the streets headed towards Veil, when turning a corner he came to a halt in front of a bar. Lancaster's. Just a short time ago he had accompanied one of the owners, and a blind musician they had come across to a night of music and peace. The violinist, Bartimas, had silenced the bar with his playing, except for the applause that had followed every song. The massive killer had felt at peace listening to the music, and had stayed till almost dawn listening. He had also restarted an acquaintance with Pi, the leader of the D'arTois clan, and one he had not spoken to in many years. A hint of curiosity slid through him as he opened the door stepping inside, wondering if either would be there tonight.
Stepping deeper into the confines of the pub, Mordechai saw that Pi was indeed there, tending the bar no less. She in conversation with a few women, though everyone except the male that had entered before him had drinks in hand. Obviously she could multi- task. Passing between the patrons that spread wide to give him passage the killer's nose twitched at the scent of blood, bile and vomit. Evidently there was a fledgling in attendance. Restless eyes scanned the crowd as he neared an open spot at the bar and turned to rest a hip against it. There was no need to order with the D'artois matriarch serving, she knew him, and knew the only thing he drank, so it was just time till it arrived. His eyes took in the growing group of women before pausing to study the male with the book, it was an odd occurrence to see someone sitting at a bar, and reading something besides a menu, or beer label. Straightening his stetson, he turned to the par and nodded to Pi.

Silhouette stiffened as new arrivals leaked into Lancaster's. At first it was a rather stoic young man with a distinctive Asian face. Her eyes locked on him as he seemed absorbed in a small red book he'd carried in. She watched him but couldn't figure out why she was wary of his presence. This attention was shifted as a second man.. a behemoth of a man... eased into the bar. He, too, sat without so much as a drink order.
This mulled in her mind for a moment before wondering if he hadn't ordered because he couldn't drink. That had to be a good way of finding out who was who. That would also mean that this Hulk was a vampire, what a deadly combination.
Sil spun in her stool and felt her dangling feet hit solidity. The crowd was growing and she knew it was time to shrink away. Possibly to a nice soft chair? Maybe the Asian guy had the right idea when he brought a book... And with that, she began slinking off toward the other side of the room.

Charlie sat silent for the most part, her eyes gazing over the rather busy pub. It was nice to see so many here this night, having this many people here meant that they weren't out there committing god knows what. Though, out of everyone that was here tonight, the only ones that she knew were Pi and Aliyah. She shook her head for a moment and then noticed a large male taking up the free spot on the other side of her. Her brow arched slightly and she glanced his way with a polite smile but then glanced back to Pi awaiting her gaze. Or perhaps Aliyah would want to keep her company tonight.
All of the others that were here were new to her, and she had a feeling that a few were also new to the city. There was just something about someone who was new to HR as well as the vampire life that seemed to draw her attention. Of course she didn't want to assume, to say something and be incorrect. She licked her lips slowly and then glanced at the one that seemed to be the most uptight about things. How tense she was, she screamed fledgling and she was almost tempted to approach her, but chose instead to speak in a gentle voice. "How are you finding the city?" She asked, clearly talking to the newer people that she assumed were new not only to the life of a vampire but to the city in general.

by Silhouette (DELETED 6077)
Silhouette was midstride as the more recent woman who'd floated into the bar asked her about her bearings on the city. That seemed to be quite the question. Harper Rock was a lot to take in and Silhouette was careful with her answer... not willing to let any more struggles become obvious.
"Oh, the uhm... I'm surviving. The crowds of people are a bit," She paused and glanced at Pi and the glass that had previously contained her newly permanent meal. "overwhelming." She nodded as she made eye contact with the woman.
Her eyes quickly broke contact and automatically scanned the two men and focused intensely on what they were doing. Surely the large one was bound to cause trouble at some point during the night... but the small one seemed dangerous in darker ways... so why didn't anyone else look like trouble? Perhaps her bias was overpowering her once more.
As with any other time, Silhouette's judgement of men had defeated her... as she spun- still pondering the dangers of the testosterone in the room- and knocked into a chair, sending herself sailing over it, though she'd managed to shift her weight so as not to crush it.
She'd decided at this moment that she would be a failure of a vampire, and once again the thirst rose in her.. and once again during a horribly timed accident.

For the most part, Yasu saw no reason to rush an interest in drink. His new text was enjoyable, and the familiar air of the Irish styled setting was enough to settle him for some time. Partway through an interesting scene, he shifted under the sensation of several stares passing over him in sequence. With a tense sigh, he turned the page. A shift of his lips followed a near silent murmur as if he were reading under his breath, but a careful ear and attentive mind would pick out the mismatch of his words to his situation. "Yes. I know. Now shut yer gob for a minute." With the soft tinge of an Irish accent, he hissed to the spirit that clung ruthlessly to his Anima.
Conversation had picked up, and Yasu allowed his eyes to pull away, taking a careful once over of those around him. A shadow had fallen over him long ago, and only now did he glimpse over its source, giving a calm and respectful nod to the figure leaning against the bar beside him. His eyes strayed over only long enough to fully absorb the appearance of the stranger, then it was gone again. Following the situation, his eyes jumped back, landing on the clumsy female who'd made friends with the floor and a nearby chair in reverse order. After a brief, internal debate, his bookmark was back in place and he rose, offering the fallen female a wordless hand up. He kept an apathetic expression, allowing nothing to slip into it that might make the situation further embarrassing for her. A strangers assistance and attentiveness to it would be no doubt humiliating enough as an addition, and really he hadn't been so inclined to offer it at all, had it not been for the insistent nagging of the specter ever-present at his side.

You can't tell who is vampire and who is not.. not by looking at them, not easily.
Pi answered back into the mind of the woman, her gaze sliding towards her, answering belatedly as other customers clamoured for her attention, ordering drinks and taking her attention away. The dual conversation slitting her attention between what she was doing, how she was talking to customers and on another level, sending the message to Silhouette.
We are paler She nodded towards Vivi, her smile a greeting, and turned to greet Charlie as well, even as she pulled beer, three pints, Guiness, the mother of slow pours, foam, swipe, foam, swipe, more freaking foam, swipe again. Keeping up her internal conversation with the new vampire.
No heart beat, so our core body temperature is... low.. not clammy, but.. cooler. Charlie is a vampire, so is Morde... you're safe here.
Pi finished, saying more than enough, probably too much. She turned to smile at the man waiting for his three beers, his friends waiting for him.
Working the bar was a balance, she didn't always catch what was said, or even who had arrived. She poured a special wine (blood) and slid that across the bar to Morde, before being called away again. She'd catch up with everyone, just as soon as the people crowding the bar slowed a bit.
Soon. She would. Soon. Until then, she trusted Charlie and Morde to help the new vampire find her... feet. Moving in front of the Asian man she smiles.
"Bon jour... Can I get you anything?"

His hand extended carefully as he pushed the door open, inside he could hear all sorts of noises and he wondered if he should be social and say hello. He wasn't fond of it, so instead he slipped in and around those standing and talking as he made his way to the bar. Granted for a 6 foot 9 male in a bar, that wasn't too easy.
His long black coat swept around behind him as he carefully navigated the crowd and scanned the faces, many new to him, but he was really the new one. He looked at the drinks on offer and went to order, but stopped, could he really drink alone? Is that not a sign he was loosing it and going insane. Maybe he shouldn't of entered the bar, he should of stayed in the darker areas of the city.
He smiled politely as his violet eyes continued there scanning, the contacts only slightly scratchy. He then saw Pi and smiled widely as he carefully and quietly walked up towards her and then kissed her cheek before he slipped past and then moved to the ATM to withdraw money.

It had been some time since Tiamat had set in foot in Lancaster’s. The last time was when she was still enrolled in at the college. This time, the raven haired woman was getting a drink after work. She pulled her car into the nearest parking space and stepped out. The cold night air caressed her bare shoulders as the cloth of her strapless tiger print dress hugged her body. The smell of alcohol filled the air of tavern as the fluorescent lights assailed her eyes.
She spotted several people milling around the bar chatting as though they were all friends. She found her way to a stool and carefully sat down. She pulled out a small note book and pen as she waited for a member of the staff to acknowledge her and take a drink order. She silently flipped through the pages of notations, formulas, and calculations. Why didn’t this one work like it should have she thought as she drew a large ‘X’ across a page. Tiamat pulled her phone from her purse with a pair of ear buds. She put one side in and listened to her music as she went over everything.

He kissed her cheek before she had a chance to register he’d come anywhere near and zoomed off to get more money as she moved herself to fill another order. She would have told him not to worry about money, but kept her lips sealed. Sure family could find drinks here were free but that was hardly something she could just blurt out over the heads of patrons waiting in line to buy.
But later she’d tell Vada right then though she stopped in front of a beautiful brunette with the pad in front of her. Wiping her hands on the cloth at her waist she smiled a greeting. “Bonjour. Welcome to Lancaster’s… what can I get you?”
The bar was busy, which was good. She kept an eye on the new vampire holding up the other end of the bar, but now that she was flanked by Aliyah, Charlie and Mordechai, Pi couldn’t fathom how much more trouble the woman could possibly get into.
And with that thought she quickly qualified her mental meanderings (just in karma was listening) that it was a good thing.

Something new, he had to do something new or at least try to mingle around. Not knowing many people could get someone to feel quite lonely in the city of Harper Rock, and even though as a vampire he couldn't drink, he could at least try to get to know a few other vampires - maybe human's if at all possible. Either way, he needed to keep his mind occupied from negative thoughts, even from work back home and here.
He opened the door to the Bar, a place that he just randomly came upon for his first choice. His gaze didn't wander along the scenery to take it in, he just perched himself up on a bar stool at the corner of the bar counter and brought out his phone. It continued to ping with emails, messages. It was all quite exhausting, something he wish that would stop. But there was no way he can just ignore them. Tonight was an exception. He shut off the phone and stuffed it into his jean pockets.
Vampires couldn't drink. He knew that. Water? Could he drink that? No way he could drink anything with human blood, that weighed on his conscious to much if he even thought about it. He missed the taste of alcohol though, how it would burn down his throat, sooth his muscles, his thoughts. Oh if only he could just have a taste of it, to get loose and forget just for one night.
