The skirmish code has been optimised. Results are something between a 25-30% speed improvement. You might still get slowdown when characters automatically retaliate against your attacks, but otherwise you should see a general improvement.

Testing it over the past 30 minutes, I've found that only takes a fraction longer to skirmish somebody than it does to move now, whereas before it was around 1.7-2 times as long to load a skirmish attack.

We're also hoping to make the index page run using ajax soon, so that will also speed up movement, skirmishes, stealing and so on.

Companions of deleted characters will now have their bond severed from here on. Your companion on your CS will read "unbound" if this happens.

If your character had a companion who was deleted, please let me know and I'll unbind the character if you wish.

Daily updates ran 3 times today, which means you probably gained some extra things but lost some more blood. This happened while we were fixing the daily updates code. Sorry for any trouble caused.

In related news: daily updates now happen on proper schedule, at EST day change (12 midnight EST). Alert logs have also been fixed to display the proper date stamps from here on, as they were also about 5 hours off. We've also fixed it so that daily updates and sunrises shouldn't happen twice in one day anymore.

The shadow realm will not change appearance temporarily, while I work on optimising a lot of the code. There are over 10,000 squares in the SR, and randomising their appearance every 2 days (average) might have been slowing the server down. Spirits and blocked squares will still reset, however.

You can now remove RP Traits at a cost of either 20000 RPP or 5 karma each. Same rules apply, as in you cannot have more powers than curses.

Bound tomes have changed slightly to give users more control over where they teleport them to. They now transport you to a ritual altar placed in the bound location (even if that ritual altar is moved to another square in the same area). If the altar has been removed, it instead transports you to the first door created.

Recognized individuals (any race) now show up by name in the square. For now, you'll still get a message at the top saying "you recognized..." but this will soon be updated too.

Fishtanks and fishing spots are now available for purchase in regular green shops, or through the karma shop.

Fishing spots let you fish from wherever you place them, though for the sake of realism you're encouraged to place them next to bodies of water in areas you own. But it's entirely up to you.

Fishing spots cost either $100,000 in game money, or 10 karma. Tanks are available for 5 karma.
