Auctions are closed
Please note, you CAN have your character vote for themselvse. It's a blind vote (no one can see it) - so feel free to vote for your own character if you'd like.

If anyone is having issues transferring coins to Pi, please try and transfer to Elliot dArtois - and if that doesn't work PM me and we'll work something out.

The Auction will be open to bidding only until 11:59pm EST, 31 October 2014.
I understand that you were under a time constraint getting the threads closed. But considering this was posted up at the very beginning, you should have voided any and all bids placed after that time, not awarded them with the win.
Just my two cents, honestly.

From earlier in this thread:
Pi dArtois wrote:I'm going to start closing auction threads in about two-ish hours. I'll start from the bottom of the forum with auctions that haven't had any recent bids and will work my way up.
I'm not going to watch people going nuts bidding, but as soon as I post into a thread closing it, any bids that come after are voided.
If you have any questions about this, post here and I'll answer them before the auctions close :) If I can.
So, those who were following the thread had a heads up about what was intended.
HOWEVER, I figured there would be growing pains.
I had created this survey monkey a couple weeks ago, since this is the first time I have organised the auction I was hoping to get feedback anyway.
I'd love to get people's feedback, what was good, what suggestions you have an overall opinions to help the next auction.

It's an ooc survey to get feedback about mechanics of the auction process :) Just for those who are wondering.

Survey taken. This auction was a helluva lot more fun than the previous years.
Bid closing has always been when the person running them closes the card. last year, Mad's closed 2 hours or so after the stated time.
I thought it was fun.

It should have stated that in the rules, then, not two hours before closing time on the bids. ESPECIALLY on a holiday night when people were out with their families and unable to check the thread consistently.
If you're going to run something, you need to run it properly. Not everyone follows the thread, and I'm sure not everyone knew they NEEDED to considering all the rules were stated up nice and neat, only to have something change right before the end of the bid.

I think this has been a learning experience.
For example, when rules are changed in the thread, the first post should be edited to reflect that to cut down on potential confusion.
I think the whole thing somewhat underlines that the auction is open to human error - and that goes on the part of everyone involved. For example, rules can be interpreted in different ways. And do not even necessarily have to be followed (from a purely IC perspective, of course). Just because a character has been purchased does not mean that they have to play the role of the submissive slave.
I would really hate to see good RP opportunity lost because people felt shafted in some way by the way things happened.
Similarly, I think it's important to see everything play out on an IC level. Characters can be angry. Outraged. A year from now, they may not even remember, because nothing in RP is permanent. Friendships, enemies, and alliances change. Characters grow and develop. And I think it would be far more interesting to see written out in roleplay than here, on this forum. Especially when the track record (in my experience) for this sort of thing is that complaints are made. Nothing is done. Suddenly nobody wants to write, because everyone is frustrated.
I would hate to see that.

Well if it makes people feel better, I gave Beth an out if she really didnt want to write with me since it seems people are super upset OOC about Mad winning Nishaa and she doesnt have a problem with it so, yeah.

Survey done.
I give the experience 4 out of 5 stars. As was said, this was the start up of new people doing this, so I am not so harsh with any points I may have.
However, the ending time will always be an issue no matter how you set it up. For me (Central time US) it ended at 11 PM, which meant 9 PM on the west coast so yeah, some were busy elsewhere with real life when it stopped while others (in Europe) were in bed sleeping when it ended so perhaps missed who they wanted and no game is worth loosing sleep over (There, I said it. Ban me as you will. LOL). Perhaps it might be an idea to have the end time fall say sometime on the 1st rather than the 31st. You are never gonna make everyone happy with it, but perhaps closing the auction on a day where not so much real life activities may be going on might ease some of the situation. I am sure there are other ideas that could help this as well and you have a year to figure it out.

^ This. Though it does seem weird rules changed two hours before the closing was supposed to go down. Maybe next year have it done the day before halloween as Reanna player said, it is a holiday and all. Or just do it early in the fall (sept-ish) to avoid lots of holidays, like Halloween, Thanksgiving and whatever else there is in other countries that are potentially HUGE where a lot of people won't be online.
