If they are allurists, yes. If not, they'd have trouble holding it down.

Enver wrote:Yeah, I see that, but I'm not real sure how that can be IC knowledge. Just because you know a name, doesn't mean it makes sense to me or is legit.

Good example:
Enver and Lel got bound. Lel and Enver had been broken up a while and well it was done unexpectedly. So just because it says companion and the other person's name, without reading memories, I really don't think it can be IC knowledge.
It's sensed in the same way as all vampires can sense other vampires.

Enver wrote:See, that's what I was looking for. How to rp it. I can see smell being an option. I was wondering if it was a feeling, perhaps. like say, Docere's feel one way, Noble another, Worthington another.

But then I got to thinking, Enver doesn't know Chad, so I can't base off how Worthington's "feel" due to their direct lineage person, or Isabella, Staus, Quartermaine.

So there in lies my wondering on how to rp connections with/to other people in the same lineage/bounded.
A feeling, more or less. In another post I wrote "yes, vampires have signature spiritual energies in the same way mortals have scents, so a vampire who recognised that identity would also know who the animal is."

This being the case, a companion and sire spiritual signatures would be part of the indivual. However, I have no problems with characters roleplaying not being able to do that.

Say, I kill off one of my character's and their thrall account. Could the thrall then become a playable character?

Yes, that's fine. You can even play a wraith thrall, if you delete the wraith, then re-make them as a human, and use the in-game suicide option. Then you'd need somebody to perform a raise wraith ritual on them, and you'd have a playable main wraith character who used to be a thrall.

Ariadne wrote:I know this has been covered somewhere before, but I can't find it for the life of me.

When a vampire drinks the blood of a person who is under the effects of a perception altering substance (drugs, alcohol, etc...) does that vampire also experience the effects of whatever substance the human has imbibed?

As I understand it, the answer is no, but I would like a some sort of confirmation >.>

I'm going to leave that to player choice. Drugs and alcohol do work on vampires, but the effects wear off much more quickly. So drinking blood that has traces of those things in it might do something.

If you google any voodoo fetish image, and then imagine that with some runes or something on it, you have an idea. Feel free to be creative though.

Asia Rae wrote:John Gambat: how does a necurat turn someone?
Asia I'laned: I am not entirely sure. That's a good questions given that it would be human blood.
The turning ritual doesn't require a vampire to drink the blood of the human. They could simply bleed them out.

Mortll wrote:Ok i seriously do not know if this has been asked yet . Since a couple of Gift shops are selling Plants such as Venus Fly traps and im thinking about adding maybe a picture plant. These plants digest and benefit from animal proteins. So What say would happen if Shamus took the Venus fly trap Mortll sent him and started feeding it his blood ?
Although I answered this for you on Yahoo, I should probably post it here too...

Animals cannot be turned by vampire blood, but they can gain temporary strength from it in the same way blood thieves do. It might require a lot of patience feeding the animal a little blood more each time, and many would die, but some could become blood thieves. In such an event, the animal wouldn't morph or anything crazy like that, they'd just become stronger (but unable to use powers).

That is very true. However, I don't mind if people have the answers and can quote them from elsewhere.
On that note: can we please get a list of the names of major NPCs in the city (e.g., the Mayor, Chief of Police, et cetera)? I know we can't god-mod them, but it would be nice to refer to them in conversation. I can only call him (her?) "that ***-hat" in RP so many times before it becomes apparent I don't know their name.
If you PM me a short list of Canadian officials (titles) who are important in the governing of a city, I'll try to name them and give descriptions. I'll use the same wiki page to give some info about gang leaders and major players.

Also, another question:
Wiki wrote:Changeling
For 24 hours, this power allows the shifter to mimic the form of another vampire. To use this, the shifter must be looking at the person they wish to mimic while they are changing. The power can be used to fool others, but unless you are a skilled actor and impersonator, it will not fool close friends of the original person. This power is used to allow the shifter to attack one enemy in this disguise.
It says in the Wiki that you have to be looking at the person you're copying... but that's pretty vague. Presumably one wouldn't have to maintain line of sight with the person that they're copying... but how long a look is necessary (how long does the actual change take)? Furthermore, do you have to look at the actual person, or just their likeness (is a picture or video recording suitable)? I can't imagine that one would have to troll around the city looking for Digo in order to impersonate him if they already knew who he was (that's definitely not the way it works on Grid). Furthermore, Digo would attack an image of himself on sight... so someone who was changing into him would definitely have to remain out of sight if they were required to see his actual person during the change. This seems to greatly reduce the effectiveness of the power in RP (and on grid -- you can change into someone, but chances are high they just saw you do it, because you have to be in their presence).

Maybe this should be changed to "the shifter must have a good likeness or memory of the person they wish to mimic"?

I must have missed that the first time.

I'd say player choice about the image thing. I think my intention was to convey that the power is a spiritual thing rather than a scientific bone and muscle re-forming, so the proximity of the person helped with that. It's up to you though, I don't want to be too stifling.
